Ukrainian Trench Art: "Боротьба (Combat)"
Ivan (only the first name of the artist is known) continues his artistic practice by creating reliefs in the trenches of Bakhmut, Ukraine using just a simple stick. When speaking of his trench art, Ivan mentions a Cossack, “a symbol of the Ukrainian people’s fighting spirit.” Pointing to another section of the relief, he remarks: “Good is on our side. God is on our side. Glory to Ukraine. Glory to the heroes.”
