Great video of the trip, Guys! I had the pleasure of doing a similar route in 2020 but hiked towards Rae Lakes, Paradise Valley route to get to Avalanche Pass. Pretty amazing and unforgettable hike especially up to Big Wet Meadow, Colby Lake and Colby Pass. How about the steep slopes in the wooded area as you head down to Gallats Lake? Pretty fierce, but worth it to experience such otherworldly beauty. Cheers!
Paradise valley is the only major trail/valley I haven’t been down yet. I did a bigger loop via granite pass and Simpson meadow to the JMT to get to Rae Lakea as copper pass permit was easier to get. Need to get out there! The whole section after Colby pass once we hit tree line down to the kern was a bit of a bushwhack and lots of downed trees from the big snow year that hadn’t been cleared out yet. Definitely felt the most remote day of the trip. Only saw people right at the end of the day in the upper kern basin.
Wow! Great hike and amazing views! (from Ontario, Canada) 👍😎👍
EXCELLENT job on the SLOW pan of Colby Pass! That’s the way to film such a scene.🙂
