Yakuza 5 is an action-adventure video game developed and published by Sega for the PlayStation 3. The game is the fifth main entry in the Yakuza series. The game was released in December 2012 in Japan, and localized for North America, Europe and Australia as a PlayStation Network download in December 2015. A remaster with improved resolution and frame rate was released for the PlayStation 4 on June 20, 2019 in Japan, and worldwide on February 11, 2020 as part of The Yakuza Remastered Collection.
The game features a new graphics engine, unlike previous games in the series that have been re-utilizing the same engine since Ryū ga Gotoku Kenzan!. For the first time in the series, it features five settings across Japan along with five playable main characters. - Ігри

I'm sorry but I find it extremely difficult to sympathize with Park. She forced Kiryu into a corner using his children as leverage, and then subsequently also used Haruka so that she could live vicariously through her. Haruka didn't even want to be an idol that badly. She just wanted to live her life with Kiryu, but because Park manipulated him by making it seem like all his kids' futures were on the line, Kiryu felt like _he himself_ had to make this life-changing decision _for_ Haruka. Park was selfish and hurt other people.

While I do agree with you, Park was actually right about one thing, Kiryu was holding the kids back. I mean, if it wasn’t for his Yakuza past, what happened in 6 to Haruka would never have happened. I’m really indifferent to her overall, but the fact of the matter is, if anyone notable found out about Kiryus past, the kids wouldn’t have had an easy time.
Holly: I was hoping someone besides me thought the same lol, now there's nothing wrong with her telling Kiryu it's ok for Haruka to have dreams. she does like to sing and there's signs in Yakuza 2 and 3 she liked singing, anytime you took Haruka out with Kiryu she always wants to sing for Kiryu. but there's a difference between someone living there dream vs living for someone else's. when I first watched that conversation, I wasn't sure who to side with. even though we all like Kiryu, he's not perfect, but I don't think he would ever put Haruka in a situation where she would fail.
@@senorbongo4975 see I don't think that's the case at all, he probably just didn't know how to go about it. since the environment he grew up around, he didn't know much about raising kids. but anytime we seen him with Haruka he always put her first even If it didn't seem like it. this is why some people were disappointed Sega got rid of Sayama the lady cop Kiryu got close to in Yakuza 2, she ended up leaving for America in Yakuza 3 in the early part of the game when Kiryu paid his respects to the people he knew. ever since he hasn't been with a woman, and i think had a woman been there for him, i think all the kids including Haruka would've had something by now. for some reason they never let Kiryu get with someone, now there's a part of Kiryu why he might not want to. it's the same with Haruka, he sometimes will distance himself from her so no harm can happen to her. but he's never been too far away to where if something did happen he'd be there, but in this game it was the first time they lived apart from each other, and pretty far from each other. he was all the way in Fukuoka of all places, getting to Osaka wouldn't be as easy lol.

After going through the collection, it's becomes more clear tha Haruka never really wanted to be an idol. But they needed to do something with her character and being and Idol is exciting I guess.

I wish Haruka would beat them up but no the gameplay is a rhythm type, you walk around and challenge other NPC to a dance-off while Akiyama does all the fighting.

As I got to Haruka's part, I started to wanting to drop the game entirely. So here I am watching the cutscenes so I don't feel like I'll miss a thing. No hate on the rhythm game aspect. Just think it shouldn't have to be a part of something like Yakuza. No matter how whacky the game can be at times.
I ended up dropping it during the snowy forest in part2, I just wanted to get on with the main plot and they had me hunting deer and shit FFS. So yeah here I am "finishing" the story through youtube before starting Yakuza6.
I mean I have no problem having that stuff as side activities but i don't like being forced to play unimportant minigames to continue the story.
I felt the same but I believe the story is mostly important for the plot. Although 2 cutscenes are fine to be skipped completely.
As for the mini games. There are only 6 of these and each takes about 2 minutes. After that you’re on Akiyama. It all is less than half an hour and you’ll learn a bit more about Haruka.
@@teglesifer Felt the same about the snow storm but it only requires you to go hunting once and you’re out. The other forest part is just walking in that forest. Took me like 15 minutes from fighting the bear to going to the city.

There is no part just chapter of indivdual characters that is played out as parts haruka story is in the video and develop's on akiyama storyline... am not sure what you mean by parts tho. 😶

Playing through this part right now and i have to say after playing 0-4 this has GOT to be the absolute worst part in the series. Super boring story with 80% of it being haruka being talked down to or other characters being treated awful by park.
Straight up wanted to delete this game during the part where haruka was buying the gift for park and she didn't stick up for herself against those rival people or whatever.
Who thought this would be fun is beyond me. Straight up trash.
Story aside not even the gameplay is fun why would i in this crime drama game want to play fucking dance dance revolution?
I really hate haruka's part. Like I really don't want to be a dancing pop idol I liked the yakuza gritty dramatic parts. I really drag myself through this part
Jairus Roque: I think people would've enjoyed it more if Haruka could atleast defend herself, watching her get bullied is not the Haruka I know Kiryu raised. but you have to figure since they had her play an idol, idols don't fight. the worst part about it is, they end up becoming somewhat rivals and friends at the end. you feel a little bit robbed because she never got back at them for what they did. that's Japan for you sometimes, they do that alot not just in video games but anime to. you see these girls acting the way they do, and then somehow they try to redeem them as if that somehow makes you as a person think of them better but it doesn't. it doesn't erase what they did, still I did enjoy some parts of Haruka's story, but it did feel a bit incomplete without Kiryu. the lady Park san I just couldn't get into, and then when you realize she only used Haruka to live a dream she never got a chance of, you feel like what was the point of all this. Haruka would've been happier if Kiryu actually took her to Osaka to have her live a dream for herself rather than someone else. the other weird thing is how Majima is connected with her, it made never made sense with him being married. it doesn't sound like Majima at all, he's not the type that likes to be tied down in married. he's too much of a free spirit.
@@bluemuppet6 Marriage is a prison sentence if YOU view it that way. It doesn't seem odd to me at all that he would end up being married at some point. I was more shocked at who he ended up being married to (personality wise).
@@weirdchick216 him being married I can see true, but it's who he was supposedly married to is the question. she looks alot like Makoto in some ways. as the series progressed it did seem like Majima was wanting to get away from the Yakuza life kinda like what Kiryu did, but different in his case. when Kiryu wanted Majima to look out for Dojima in Yakuza 3 when he started taking over the clan as the 6th chairman, Majima didn't really want it, but he only did it because Kiryu asked, but he really didn't want to get pulled back into either, he did anyway lol.
