Nicely done! Enjoyed your view very much :) I'm from Malaysia and own a 2014 R1200GS but got an opportunity to ride a rented F800GS in Oregon during a business trip there. My wife and I went 2-up on a day long ride and loved it!
That's just something I was reading online where some people were having issues with the traction control not disengaging even though they turned it off... Glad to hear yours works like it should. The F800Gs is an Amazing bike!
It's a 16 liter or 4.2 gallon tank and figuring 50mpg you should be good for around 200 miles per tank which in my opinion is actually low for this type of bike. They now make the f800gs Adventure which has a 24 liter tank and is good for a much more reasonable 300 miles per tank! Wish mine had the larger fuel capacity.
A note for short riders: the F800GS Adventure cannot be lowered to 820mm (860mm is the lowest and only option). Unfortunately, I'm in this group :( and have to go for the standard version + a CamelTank to extend my range. From my experience, as long as you don't ride on a desert there is always a place to fill up your tank. Actually, you get more places to do it outside the EU (petrol stalls every few kms). We rode 125cc scooters with 1 gallon tank capacity across SE Asia carrying only 0.5L spare bottle and it wasn't a problem if you plan your trip well.
Nice review dude, I have one the same colour that I use on and off road too. I'm only a 5ft 8, so I do find if the going gets slippy the weight makes it a handful and hard work. But for a combination of road and light trail use it's great, I just wish it was 50 kgs / 100 pounds less in weight! Can't have everything I suppose! Cheers.
David N I haven't driven the bike much in the last 3 years due to working a bunch. I would still recommend it. For some good info join the F800gs owners group on FB and ask there.
Nice review and I am glad you are happy with your bike choice. You really can't list the weight as a negative. You know it going in and that's what you get when you get a dual sport/adventure bike. I have a V-Strom but definitely would put the 800 as a new bike to look at. Stay Vertical!!
Lol, looking back and even when filming it that though had crossed my mind. Unfortunately at the time i didnt have many days off to be able to film, so i had to make due.
+temptation2003 It been great! .... can't wait until the snow melts! .... but likely at least 6 weeks before the roads will be clear enough and the weather a little warmer. I agree with you on the wind screen being a little too small ... but the bike handles well. .... Ken
'can't help thinking it gives you the worst of both worlds - too heavy to be a good off-road bike, and not great on the bitumen with that dinky little windscreen giving you no buffet protection at top speed on the M1, and that skinny little knobby front tyre giving poor handling around winding country/mountain roads, which is the most fun type of riding for me. And on top of that, for what you pay for it you could buy a Ninja for the mountain roads and a dirt bike for the off-road stuff. Am I missing something?
I already have a 06 Yamaha r1 and a 03 Yamaha Wr450 dirtbike. Figured I needed a bike I could drive down the highway to get to the offroading places. Oh and I put on a taller windscreen, absolutely amazing now. Check out my channels for videos of all the above.
Tony Cook Yeah I sometimes agree with that, I read somewhere a dual sport bike is like a car that goes on the water, makes for a shit car and a shit boat and I understand the get the ninja for the road and a ktm 250EXC for the dirt, but that said what if you want to go distance on the trails and go for a real adventure and camping etc, you have no other option but one of these bikes, hence they're called adventure bikes and I think they do incredibly well with all they are asked to do..... :o)
Nice view, i goht the same bike, but with the heidenau K60 Scout, because i ride more on streets, anyway thats switzerland, by us are so ridings forbidden.
why did you pick a stripper name for your channel? and i had to turn the video off and thumbs it down since you started your video off talking about how you cant even use a clutch. how can you have a valuable review.
r4zom You ever ridden one of these? Can you say you don't feel a difference in the low flywheel effect this engine has compared to your average street bike, never mind something for off road?

Got all the options available on mine in the UK and never looked back , I have added lots of stuff like satnav too.. great great bike.
This is the bike I want when i am an adult this is my favourite bike
Nice review. Watching this just before I order mine in the same color. Hadn't heard that about the ASC. Need to look in to that.
ASC can be fixed by a simple software update - just get your dealer to do it and you'll be able to switch it off.
Enjoying the bike. Getting ready for the break-in tune-up. Having the ASC installed then which, I assume, will include the most recent firmware.
pretty sick bike man bmw's last forever
This bike still is sophisticated even due its older
Very nice Video. Thanx for sharing. You did the bike justice.

***** I agree about the fuel.. but the ugliness of the adventure outweighs that for me.
beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I think it looks awesome :o)
Beautiful color, Great review, thanks!
WOW! You could take over a small country with that thing.
Good video!
What is your crash bar?
Thanks.
Thanks for the review.. Didn't know that some of them don't come with traction control
You can switch ABS and traction control off and it does NOT cut power.
What is your previous experience or review based on comparison, rather than just open statement?
Does your bike has the ESA?? If not, why did you not get one??
Thanks
How large is the fuel tank? How far on a tank of fuel?

with these off road wheels what's the speed you've reached with no wheel noise...on a high way
Nice bike good information thank you
Pal,the background sounds are really disturbing the vid.
I'm having another look at these now, think I might get one. What tyres have you been using on it for main roads? How do these handle wet roads?
I've been too busy working the last couple years during riding season to even put miles on the bike. Hopefully someone else will answer your question.
Hi there, fantastic review. I was wondering what exhaust you have, sounds awesome. Best I've heard.
Cheers.
Gig man Two Bros carbon fiber exhaust.
Now that the bike is 5 years old hows the upkeep on it? Looking at buying a used one now, do you still recommend it?
David N I haven't driven the bike much in the last 3 years due to working a bunch. I would still recommend it. For some good info join the F800gs owners group on FB and ask there.
traction control does not kick in once shut off. at least on mine(2013)
Nice review and I am glad you are happy with your bike choice.

🤣😂🤣 Probably never needed it, the bike is very comfortable and nice to ride around on. Glad you are enjoying it.
@@Temptation_Offroad yea very comfortable bike. I recently when to the MOAB offroad trails and just turned off the ABS
That thing sounds nice.
think you could have picked a windier day to do this review?
Lol, looking back and even when filming it that though had crossed my mind. Unfortunately at the time i didnt have many days off to be able to film, so i had to make due.
I like your helmet. What make is it?
Gary Lewis It is just a $100 Bell Dirtbike helmet, Matt black.
So by now you've had a full season of riding ... still positive on the bike?
Yeah its still a great bike!
Glad to hear your say that! ... pick mine up early spring! :-)
+Ken Elsey So how do you like your F800gs now that you've had it for a while?
+temptation2003 It been great! .... can't wait until the snow melts! .... but likely at least 6 weeks before the roads will be clear enough and the weather a little warmer. I agree with you on the wind screen being a little too small ... but the bike handles well. .... Ken
+temptation2003 ... I just noticed in your video that you have a case on the back of your bike .... I've been looking .... what is it that you have?
NIce bike, want to trade my Sportster for one sometime next year.
Do you still own this bike ?
Yup, still own it and never had any problems with it at all. Still an excellent bike!
Thermal underwear s are good for motor bike
Nice video.
Good video! Thx
They make the F800GS Adventure if you're going to be doing off road

Thks

Nice view, i goht the same bike, but with the heidenau K60 Scout, because i ride more on streets, anyway thats switzerland, by us are so ridings forbidden.
AS OTHERS HAVE SAID ....why did you pick a stripper name for your channel?
Named after the band WithinTemptation and 2003 was the year I finally got high speed internet!
Get the rekluse auto clutch, bike will never stall again.
why did you pick a stripper name for your channel? and i had to turn the video off and thumbs it down since you started your video off talking about how you cant even use a clutch. how can you have a valuable review.

Scusa ma hai fatto il video con un po troppo vento secondo me 😂
there was no need for the wheel spin showing its power what so ever.
Everytime I see an adventure bike review, the person seems really boring... Think ill wait for this s1000F see how that goes down
