Whenever I deal with heartbreak i come here. I saw this movie after my 10th grade in 2012-13 . Around the same time i fell in love too and after watching the movie i used to wonder what heartbreak would feel like . After 10 years and 3 unsuccessful relationship i think my heart soul mind have had enough. I wish I could just go over to some small mountain town .
I used to think that too. And then, also like you, I've grown weary of the heartbreaks and loss. I always say that I'll find myself in some small mountain town away from it all, alone, living out my days. I hope you feel better, Perseus. I know that pain.
If you’re in your 20s now and single… learn who you are and love yourself..once you do this, you’ll know your worth and will find someone you can grow a future with
I will never loose hope. But I never thought,in my late twenties life would panned out to be this sour. Hope everything will get better. And in my thirties I hope ,i will be ablelook back fondly at the storm .
@@perseusjackson7451 bro Im 27 now .. in a relationship.. I spent 1 year of my adult life single.. I missed out on so much self growth!! No matter where you are in your 20s, self growth is so important.. look after yourself before chose to look after another person Me realising this now, after investing a year in this relationship am only just learning that as a man, i need to grow before i can take care of a woman.. So as you are single.. work solid for a year or 2… then when you’re 30-32 or even 35.. find a younger woman whos 25-27.. THIS is why females tend to go for older men.. Which is why im telling you to wait My partner is the same age as me, complaining about how we’re not married and have no kids I’d be such a beast right now of i spent my 20s single
Neeson was urged to channel his grief over losing his wife in real life during the scene where he pens the open letter. I think he did a beautiful job. The words aren't his, but the anguish you see when he is writing is very real.
Once more into the fray.. into the last good fight i’ll ever know… Live and die on this day… Live and die on this day… I love this quote so much, i got it tattooed on me
I’ve worked in the refinery outside Chicago on nights like that as a contractor . Yes it is a most accurate statement about those men working with me and maybe myself. What a lonely place those refineries can be at night
Usually outcasts, ex cons, autistics and bad mannered people tend to work these jobs. No offense. Sometimes humans are like a flower, if planted in a wrong environment, you die.
I think we all feel this scene because it’s about loss and regret which is inevitable and that’s scary. You can’t run from it or wish it away. Eventually, we all have to face it.
3years, lost my Dad and my wife in an accident that I should havedone something to prevent it. And until now, it still haunts me, waiting for the time.
I hope you're feeling better. I know these are only words, but there's nothing you could have done. Because there's no such thing as what could have been; there's only what is. And whether we believe in a deity or an afterlife or not, we know what the people who loved us would want for us. We know they'd want us to be happy and not give up.
Liam Neeson is such an awesome legend..plus his voice..This scene is incredible for those who understand that even with bar fights, noise, things going on around you..when your in depression and darkness..nothing matters...others just see the external you...the inside battle is another universe. Into the fray..
Probably my favorite movie, the philosophical speeches, the locations, the cast, everything is well done, except for the unrealistic depiction of wolves.
This is a great film- if you know absolutely nothing about Alaska. (I was up there for a bit over 5 years). Alaska has a population of just under 700,000 and just over 700 airfields. So take a wild guess who has the best rescue service for crashed aircraft. If you are in a plane crash in Alaska, do you stay where you are- or go wandering off to a forest miles away with no sign of human habitation?
The wolves are symbolic of the demons of the afterlife. They all died in the plane crash and he has to life through purgatory of depression and loss. Another good symbolic que is Winston Churchill suffered from depression and called his depression spells the Black Dog and in the end Neeson has to face a giant black dog also symbolic of death itself. The Grey is depression
I have this pet theory that the alpha is actually the Morrigan, the Celtic goddess of war and death, who often took the form of a wolf. Ottway is Celtic and a warrior, but rather than him dying by suicide, Morrigan offers him death in battle. This is why the wolves don't act like real wolves, because they're not.
Don't be afraid #TheGrey "At any moment, man must decide for the better or for the worse, what will be the monument of his existence. " He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how". It is we Ourselves who must answer the Questions that life asks of us,and to these questions we can respond only by being responsible for our existence. "Once more into the Fray.. into the last good fight I'll ever know. Live and die on this day Live and die on this day . DON'T BE AFRAID,THIS MOMENT TOO,WILL PASS AWAY.. #ActivizeLife
I really liked this film, although it was very inaccurate in depicting wolves, some of the things that happened were just ludicrous. To me this film is about a warrior, a killer of wolves who longs for death. That Wolf howling which sends chills down my spine, is the Alpha wolf calling upon him for one last fight.
@David Saddy put your heart on something good and make up to that, it'll make you feel good and have hope. Like helping people and stuff and they could remember on what you did.
The wolves aren’t real. They all die in the plane crash and the wolves symbolize the demons that drag them away in Purgatory. Also Winston Churchill suffered from depression and he called it the Black Dog and in the end of the movie he has to face a giant black Dog. The Grey is depression
This movie is EXACTLY what a previous statement said.. some how this movie has been one of if not THE most under appreciated underestimated flicks in the last idk century probably. If you’re a big movie fan and appreciate ALL the qualities elements that make a great one. You’ll understand when you watch this from beginning to end… holy shit!! Everything about this movie is a masterpiece… seriously folks. It’s a fucking crime pardon my French but this movie not winning anything especially a golden globe or something to that level seriously is fucked up and idk why. It pisses me off when I think about it.. this movie was nothing short of a masterpiece period.
I just lost my girlfriend and my little daughter because am a Alcoholic and asshole. everytime i watch this scene am always Drunk. I don't know why am got deep pain inside my heart, THE END.

The scene in the bar is really good directed and played by Neeson.
Stefan P. Didn’t know he direct it. That’s cool
@@kjsciacca Well, he didn't direct it. Director is Joe Carnahan.
The moment where it goes silent and into the ringing in his head. I know this feeling in an environment like that.
Such a great actor man! And wow, just before he's character is about to commit suicide, it was the wolves' howling that made him change his mind.
It's a metaphor for survivor's instinct just before suicide
Liams voice is soothing yet badass at the same time

"The Grey"(2011) is an excellent survival adventure movie! The ending scene of the movie was very sad!
No i think the ending was happy he ended up back with his wife at peace. It was the only way he was going to find peace
He kills the Alpha. Did you miss it?
This movie is my current mood.

@@kentamitchell it’s not that accurate no, but it has a great story, I don’t think a movie has to be believable to be good.

I feel like this sometimes, like I’m out of the pack. I don’t think of it as anything bad. But only too see that they look so lost.

Yeah, the converter i used to chop it moved the sound out of sync for some reason. But it doesnt really matter here since its narrated.
01:01 unfortunately in Alaska there aren’t any bars in the refineries and that’s part of the inaccuracies of this movie.
All is well so long as Liam is there
Anyone know the song in the scene with the bar fight?

I love this movie very much. I am suicidal myself. Ottway's story is similar with me.
Be happy
I hope you still with us family

I love the film, but the depiction of wolves is total BS.
This was explained many times but here it is again: the movie uses wolves as a metaphor. They used their artistic license very well.
