    The fact that you guys are landing these toads the old school way without LiveScope or Live sonar makes it even more awesome. That's real fishing right there!

    Fishermen need joint support too. It's a sport for a reason. You make a really good point.

    Yeah baby! Bought a Launcher, 2 months ago and a couple boxes of Deep-X and Big-M's!
    Had been using a blackjack but like the Launcher for deep crank so much more. Works great for I-slide 185's too

    Excellent show gentlemen. Especially the part about them eating while suspended. You don't always necessarily have to be dredging bottom to trigger the response.

    What I LOVE about this is fucking NO LIVESCOPE!!!! REAL crank bait busting big BASS!! The Big M 7 is REAL I’ve stroked big bass on them since I bought mine! Hate the secret is about to be out!

      Live scope is amazing, but not always necessary, and sometimes worse! When I know where they live, I turn all graphs off.

    This is my favorite time of the year. I fish kayak tourneys, about every weekend from march-july and the prespawn into the spawn, i never do that well. But come about mid may-early june.....I go on a tear and usually get a couple trophies or at least am in position to get a top 3. Then the heat of the summer comes, and I suck again lol.

    Y’all have such a knack for hitting the rabbit hole I’m currently diving down just as I start chasing that rabbit. The size of the tackle has me wondering about doing this in the kayak. You or Luis have any thoughts about kayak deep cranking?

    • @thehookuptackle_usa
      @thehookuptackle_usa  Рік тому

      I wouldn’t approach it any differently other than kayak positioning. Other than that - same gear, same places.

    Awesome day on the water!! Live the Big M the shallower versions for my pond and local ponds! Catch them pre-spawn on it now! They are just coming up here, caught a 5, had a 6+ snap my line on my cranking stick, 30 seconds later she jumped completely out of the water and spit my Deps 2.0 back and I got my bait back!😳😂

    I spent a lot of time on that same water back in the late 1970s and 1980s . Fished that big bluff wall many times. Lots of big fish then and apparently in today times also. Bad ass vid. Too bad Griff missed out🤫

    Y’all tore there asses up!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🍻🍻I’ve been getting that itch to get a new rod and I don’t have a cranking rod yet. I’ve been thinking about adding the launcher to the arsenal. With the 3/8 to 2oz rating I was wondering if it can handle other techniques besides deep crankin? Like 1oz ish treble hook swimbaits? Living in Florida I don’t do a whole lot of “deep” water crankin, every once and awhile we will hit a lake that’s got a couple 30ft holes. So if possible I’d like to find a rod that’s good at other stuff but also if I get around any deep spots I can still have a rod to handle throwing a deep crank too.

    On your deep cranking reels (zillion HD's for my stuff), use a 110mm or bigger handle. It makes it so much easier. The Orochi Launcher is without a doubt the best deep crank rod ever made, or at least that I've tried). *Edit: Is the 7'11" super leggara a deep crank rod or a punch/flip rod?

    Ive had success on the 2.0 and 4.0 on the chicago river around bridge supports and docks in the early morning and late afternoon in the summer and early fall. I throw it on a tranx 300 25lb flouro on that daiwa tatula 7'3 swimbait rod. I use that short rod because im not making really long casts. I just throw mast the target or throw it as far back into the lane in the dock. I burn the bait for 3 or 4 reel turns and kill it for a second or two. They usually come flying out from under the dock and slam the bait on the pause. Its super cool because you can see the eat. Chartruse black back and that champaign kinkuro or whatever the gold one is get the most attention for me. #corememories
