Great simple videos. Would love to see a video about your charging experiences (at home and public charger), the energy consumed, charge times, costs, etc.
It will speed up and slow down. Not as jerky as the previous generation. But the distance it maintains could cause cars to cut in as it's conservative and don't want to cause a crash by following too closely. I've only been in a short jam and I disabled it as I didn't want cars cutting in.
It works well. If it stops long you will need to press the gas pedal, but normally it's much better than the previous gen. It feels more natural and not as rough stop and go.
The road sign recognition is good, but not smart enough to recognize a zone that says only Monday to Friday 9 to 5pm. It will always read it and show the speed even outside of the time. The car will not change speed automatically and in reality where I live, nobody drives the speed limit. You can see in my video a 100km/hr highway, everybody flies by me even at 105.
First off, @LSFT, thanks for making these videos. Does the NX have an auto brake feature when the adaptive cruise is not on? In my AMG, I could press a little further on the brake, and it would hold the car until I pressed the gas pedal. I loved this feature. Cheers.
@Jagaro yes the NX has a feature called brake hold. You activate it with a button and when you step on the brake and your car is at a stop, it will hold the brake and you can release your foot. However, if you hold it too long it will tell you to press on the brakes again to let it hold again.
@@lsft that’s not what I’m aware of In my 2020 Camry with the electric parking brake, if brake hold is active for more than 3 mins, it’ll automatically disable it and engage the parking brake. Then you tap the gas to release it and go Also brake hold doesn’t activate when the radar cruise holds you at a stop
@naveenthemachine I think the question was brake hold when you don't have adaptive cruise. I have tested the brake hold function and if you press the brake again after 3 minutes, it will resume brake hold. If you do not it will then engage the parking brake, and you can press the gas pedal or disengage the electronic parking brake, buy pressing on the brake pedal and pushing the EPB button.
My Infiniti Q50 brakes automatically if there is a car ahead of me that is stopped whether or not I'm using cruise control. If adaptive control is off does lane assist work? Will the car brake automatically?
You hold down on the signal to the direction you want to change and it will change when it's safe. Don't press it all the way so that it locks down. You need to have adaptive cruise on for this to work
Thanks for the demo…I’m still having issues on how to set the regular cruise, it automatically wants to go to adaptive. I’ve turned the adaptive off, but what do I select to set the cruise once I get to the desired speed?
Great videos and told me just what I was looking for on my new 450h. One thing that I did find curious though is that it shows you had 51 miles left in EV mode, and yet mine only goes to 40 mpg in EV mode when fully charged. How do I achieve more mpg in EV like you have done?
You will need to step on the brake if there is not any car in front of you. It does not read the red light. If you have a car in front of you, it will stop and resume. But if it stops for too long, you will need to step on the gas pedal to resume.
Is that a 450h you're driving? My question is, how more economical would a Front Wheel Drive 350h be to an AWD model? Any idea? Thanks for the vids. Really enjoying them!!
Yes - I am driving a 450h+. Whereabouts are you from? I believe the 350h is only available in AWD in USA and Canada. It only uses all 4 wheels when it is needed and will drive front wheel in normal conditions as the car is front wheel bias. Have you subscribed to my channel? :)
@@Bighairyjoesph That explains it. All Lexus vehicles the FWD will be more fuel efficient over the AWD version. On paper it's about 2-3mpg better, actual - I do not know. You know all these EPA numbers depends on how you drive. 350h is a great car if don't have access to a plug. Great choice! What color did you pick?
@@Bighairyjoesph I get it. I waited about 7 months for mine. In fact almost a year wait since I put down a deposit. Yes - I put down a deposit before it was even announced.
Thanks for sharing your experience, great video 👍. Is there any information that the dealer provided for the welding near the shock absorber mounting areas. I’m kind of worried about that. Also do you have the wireless charging problem with iPhones? Thank you 😊
I have 2 videos related to the Qi wireless charging pad. From time to time, I will not behave properly, but most of the time it works fine with my Android and iPhone. Meanwhile, subscribe to my channel for more videos on the NX. However, my iPhone is 11 and does not have the Magsafe feature which I believe is the issue with the iPhone 12 and 13 phones. These phones have had issues with a lot of Qi chargers. Some people doing a hard reset on their 12/13 seem to have helped the issue. As with the welding issue. I believe all new NXs will have has this issue. It was the first few batches that may potentially have missed welds. I have seen many NX owners who got the recall noticed have their cars inspected and they did not have any missing welds. Are you a current owner and got one in late 2021 and Jan-Feb 2022?
@@lsft I haven’t received any notification about the missing welds issue from dealer or app yet. My NX350h was made in Nov 2021. Hopefully I won’t get this recall. Thank you for your help and I’ll try a hard reset. 👍
It depends.. it will wait and within the wait time the car resumes, it will continue. However, if it waits too long, then you will need to press resume or gas pedal.
I would like to see how much your mileage goes down when you are in charge mode and how many miles you have to drive or how long it takes to charge from 0 to 80%. This would tell us how much it costs to charge your battery using gas
Unfortunately, I don't drive that long to see how many miles/km it charges. Could try to run it for 10-20 mins and see how much it gains and reduces in range to get a calculation on how much it would take to gain.
While in adaptive cruise, I touch lightly on the wheel but it keeps showing the hold wheel icon. Have you found a way to rest the hands while keeping the hands on wheel?
I would say, I have tried it without my thumb on the steering wheel and it would work as well. I just didn't want that to be in the video and encourage that type of driving. If you put your thumb, you don't need to put much pressure and it will be fine.
My cruise control is not working it’s a brand new I have been using but today it din work , do I have to charge a battery to use that or it always work without charging ???
Another great job on doing a proper practical technology test on the new NX450+.
Thank you for your support!
