    Basically I went to lunch after my cysto case then I was assigned to do left colon with stents then I went home lol. Thats it. 1 full case for me. You guys got the whole glimpse.
    Here's what my day looks like as a CST.
    (DAY VARIES) lol.
    If I get a break, breakfast and lunch, its a good day!

    Loved this! I'm in my second semester of the tech program and I'm currently learning how to set up the surgical feild. So cool to watch someone doing this in real life. Not a lot of techs on youtube sadly. Keep on doing your thing c:

      When do clinicals in the hospital start? Is it the first semester in the program?

    I am leaving Nursing School and currently enrolled in ST, due to start in the Fall.... please do a video on how ST school was, your first paycheck(s), traveling, what the surgeons personalities are like, best and worst cases, your favorite specialties, and if you have any plans on becoming a CSFA/CSA....     Thanks for the video. I am curious to know in general, what percentage of your day is spent selecting the equipment? How much is devoted to room setup and how much is spent actually working on a case? I think this field sounds really interesting and I might give it a go.

      Lol I will be honest to you, turn over from one case to another is 10 minutes. That includes setting up the room, open, set up, counted. It's fasssssssssst. Most cases All cases starts at 730. We're there for huddle at 645. Get your case from charge, read it, get all your trays, open, set up, count. 10 to 15 mins. Patient will come in whether u ready or not. They won't be late

    Hi! Just came across your videos! Im looking to become a surgical tech. I was wondering in your opinion if becoming a SPD tech first would be better and then moving to a surgical tech? Google isnt really giving me any help hahaha! Any info would be so helpful thankyou!

      My last term, you had to set up a case in less than 30 mins. If under, you fail.

    I’m thinking about going to school for a ST but it scares me of it being a high stress job and a lot of instruments to remember for each case 😳 I am 37, married, 3 kids and work part time as an OR tech (on the job training)for pain management. I don’t do nearly what a ST would do and it’s stress free and super easy. I currently enrolled for the fall this year 2021 but I’m so on the fence of backing out bc I’m scared. I have a month to decide. I didn’t go through with scheduling classes yet or anything but just enrolled

    I have been curious of what Surgical Techs do. I guess I thought they actually scrubbed in but I take it thats a no? :) if not then what positions are there for being in the actual surgery room when it's going on? I love surgery stuff haha

      Yes we do scrub in. This is just me helping them out because she has a 730 case while mine was 1030. We can't sit around and wait. Thats a big no no. The operating room is a family and a team. If there's a stat case, everybody jumps in.

      @@DaraM111 the charge will tell you where to go and opening the case for them is a big help! The faster we help, the better the outcome for everybody including patients. The board flow is smoother and things are done. And you're welcome. I reply to everyone 👌

      I was too! I even broke down and had panic attacks during our quiz on instruments lol. I talked about it on my other video. I remember it so clearly! But look at me now, I STILL don't know all the instruments lol. You will learn them along the way.
