Someone can fact check me on this but I think I remember reading somewhere Ned apologized to Earnhardt for showing favoritism to his son. Earnhardt said something like "I would have done the same thing".
It was Earnhardt's world back in the late 80's and early 90's bro!! How old are you? Anyone who knows racing and lived thru this era knew he was the man to beat!!
Dale Jarrett's first win is one of the earliest examples I'm aware of a driver using the side draft. Probably why he was a top superspeedway racer along with some good Hendrick and Robert Yates horsepower.
Thanks for pointing that out. Tried to edit out all of the mistaken Burton race. But now it looks like Burton's wife is celebrating Clint Bowyer passing him in Turn 4 at Talladega😂

Of all of the nascar compulation videos, this is the one I've wanted the most.
That was a stupid long video but somehow I watched the whole thing. Bravo son, bravo..

If I remember correctly Dale told Ned that “I’m a father too.”
The first part of this video is just Dale Earnhardt getting passed on the last lap.
till he wrecks rusty

They were the team to beat, week in and week out!
Just shows when he wasn’t winning races, he was at least leading on the last lap
You're not wrong lol.
Love how they put dales famous quote in there
Ned Jarret calling his son winning the 500 is great!
One of the coolest moments in NASCAR history

2:00 Always loved Ned Jarrett. That was Dale's first win I think. You can see Dale trying to force Davey up the track in 3 and 4....smart.
All of these Daytona 500 loses made the 1998 500 that much more special!
Great vid! Maybe the biggest take away I had was the slowly dwindling crowd size. Been a leaky bucket of fandom for sure.
Atlanta spring race has had some of the closest finishes.
This video makes me realize, this is why I love nascar. For moments like these.
The 1990 Daytona 500...UGH! The most painful loss in my opinion.
This is awesome!
3/16/2003 Darlington Ricky Craven and K. Busch was awesome
bunch of these had my favorite driver winning... but my favorite absolute favor one was when Hamlin broke his spine at california =D
Anymore years other than 01 and 2011? These are awesome videos
12:37 NASCAR 2004 NEXTEL Becomes
Well this goes to show Earnhardt didn’t just have trouble winning the 500. He became victim to losing a race on the last lap a LOT in general.

Sonoma 2016 gets no love from anybody.
30:23 You showed that clip twice

You could count the 2019 fall race at Talladega because Newman passed Blaney on the final lap and Blaney passed him back.
Ya I noticed that 2022 COTA, 2023 spring Kansas where missing too
Also no SLIDE JOB :(
That's because the leader of the penultimate lap also led the last lap those races

No last lap pass in 2019
Why was racing so much better back then. How come ? No rice..
Had a lot more uncompetitive races as well but I'm guessing it's because the cars were much less aero sensitive.
I know finishes don't mean everything but.. Commenting that on this video seems funny when over half of the finishes are Car of Tomorrow or later.
NASCAR Is Still Awesome
