I was talked into going to Benidorm by my mates after holidaying 3 years on the run on the Costa Brava which I loved. I totally hated the place from day one and vowed never to return. Now 25 years later having watched your, and your two traveling companions, vid it still looks exactly the same (a trashy version of Manhattan with a beach full of plastic so called English pubs) and am convinced that my original conclusion was correct. It was, and is still is, my idea of holiday hell.
I’m honestly surprised Benidorm hasn’t been officially declared a British overseas territory by now. I went as a kid once and of course watched the show, I kind of want to go again as an adult.

I'll comment along as I watch, as a half-Spanish, half-Brit who worked in Magalluf. Think I'm qualified!
1) Yep, in Castilian Spanish gammon is known as "York Ham". No-one knows why.
2) Very few places do a decent full breakfast. And bacon here in Spain is generally cack.
Exactly and jamón York is used to distinguish from jamón serrano (jamón by itself generally referring to serrano ham)

I think the original joke was that there was a comma between York and ham. As if they are seperate items.
@@Surv1ve_Thrive Possibly, but I've seen quite a few Spanish menus in English that will list York and ham separately, as in gammon and serrano, respectively. That being said, I've seen lots of nonsense on those menus, such as "green Jewish women and ham", and "strawberries and scum".
