Another problem with versions above 1.16.1 is that the pearl trade from piglin bartering was decreased (both in quantity of pearls per trade and how often it happens), which for speedrunners is more important

The main reason why people speedrun 1.16.1 is not the brutes (though they are annoying), but the fact that you get way more enderperls when bartering

All he says is getting enderpearls through bartering is the fastest way (which I agree with), but then he goes on to say the reason everyone uses 1.16.1 is because in the later versions brutes exists. And that is not true. Yes brutes don't exist in 1.16.1, yes they are annoying, but they aren't the reason speedrunners don't use for example 1.17. The reason is that from 1.16.2 onwards, you get way less enderpearls when bartering

Not sure if you'll see this or not, but the cathedral at 6:53 kind of reminded me of a build that me and around 20 other people worked on in survival. It was around half that size and had ~700,000 blocks in it and took us around 8 months to complete. Great video by the way

0:37 a correction I guess: there is a new world record, but it hasn't been verified yet, and it may not ever be because of the runner accidentally leaving the world post blind travel. Also the runner is Sagi_igal and his time is 8:37

I'm pretty sure Fig and a few other youtubers have made it to the world border so that record in the video doesn't quite seem right, but maybe Guiness hasn't recognised it and I'm sure some other records are very outdated as they seem to be set 5-10 years ago.
It's about how long the journey is taking, not how long he journey is :)
I think the difference is nether travel/elytra vs walking on foot. Might be wrong though

Seems like there are 3 different people that hit 100,000 to break the record. Officially Stephen Shaw and I hold the record. Officially I beat it on the 2nd of december and Stephen matched me on the 2nd January. I do have a video up of my run but isn't as popular as Serpentine's. Great to see so many minecraft world records. Great video as always shulkercraft!

this will probably never happen since they normally focus on simple farms that anyone could make and while the EOL farm is awesome its too complicated for the average Minecraft player
I think , portal slicing is patched in 1.19 .so eol farm works only if it was built before . Or you can go back to 1.18 and build the farm and change back to 1.19

An interesting record that I believe you can do is to build the biggest netherite beacon in minecraft. You built a very big emerald beacon but a very big netherite beacon will be a record for sure, and you can make it even bigger than your emerald beacon in your old world. I believe in you.
