- Championship Wrestling from Florida - Fall 1980. After serving out his 30 days as Dusty Rhodes' personal valet, Sir Oliver Humperdink returns to reclaim his wrestlers. Lord Alfred Hayes has other ideas. After this incident, Humperdink turns face and becomes Rooster Humperdink; Dusty's "advisor" (he was never referred to as Dusty's manager). Hayes and Humperdink had matches throughout the state of Florida until the beginning of 1981.
I'm telling you Gordon Solie made wraslin credible!!! He was truly the voice of a once great sport.
"Crimson Mask" for blood to explaining exactly why the hold was devestating to what organ or breathing, etc. I have never heard anyone describe what the sleeper did to the brain. Gordon did! "And already exhausted, this hold is restricting the very much needed oxygen always but in this case even moreso from getting to the oblongata.
Poor Humperdinck, worked as Dusty’s butler for 30 days then comes back only
To get beaten up by awful Alfred and the hangman with volkkoff watching.
Thank you very much for the memories.
Oh shit. His lordship getting all badass? Now I’ve seen everything. I love seeing these old clips of classic wrestling from the territory days.
This was one of the most violent beatdowns I've seen in wrestling.
It is kind of hard to imagine Lord Alfred Hayes as heel but here it is.
Love how Lord Alfred was just nonchalantly giving the interview while dude beat the snot out of Humperdinck
This old English nobody should of stayed in the AWA.
love how CWF used that surplus store WW2 army stretcher LMAO
I remember this.It was done well-very convincing.Wrestling was so interesting back then.
Great stuff. Severely lacerated and unconscious, and a bunch of random wrestlers sitting in the locker room take him away.
Many folks regard Dusty's "Hard Times" promo as his greatest, but I beg to differ. The promo he cut the following week after this incident was the best. My brothers and I recorded CWF on a tape recorder and kept that promo for years. "Lord Alfred Hayes, is gonna pay, the heaviest dues, that ever been paid!" Wish the video was on here.
@Kingdom of the Son of God That was 1980. I have no idea what happened to it. I think my brother eventually recorded Kasey Kasem over it. The little p***k.
@@zachmartin1458 haha...
Ernie Ladd
If only Presidential debates had this kind of merit and dignity.
Florida was the only territory where the wrestlers were the medics LOL!
They always cut to the CWF logo when someone's graphically getting the brakes whupt off of em. Hahaha!!!!!
YOU REMEMBER THAT TOO?????? 😁✌
I doubt that. Just brings more mystery to that mayhem. I remember seeing Sir Oliver at an event at the National Guard Armory in Ft. Lauderdale. My stupid friend decided to go up and hit Oliver during a match. Next thing I know my idiot friend is running towards me with Oliver and 2 other wrestlers following him. When he arrived Humperdink told me my Friend hit him. I basically stepped aside and said he was on his own. A very stupid and foolish thing he did. He was lucky he didn't get stomped. Gone are these great ole days of wrestling.
They didn't want to show Humperdink blading himself to get color lol
Thats what i thought to. I was watching an.old Portland Wrestling match a few weeks ago. It was time for Rip Oliver to bleed after being thrown out of the ring. The camera zeroed in on him and it shows him with a small piece of blade going to town on his forehead. It was great
the big PILES OF BLOOD on the floor are ok tho. lmfao
Lord Alfred Hayes was great in this interview. Notice as Hump his hand on Lord Al's shoulder to get around him, Hayes looks at Jaggers then looks at Hump touching him and Jaggers gets the "signal" and ties up Sir Oliver.
Gordon forgot to say "his face is a crimson mask!"
Because it was " lascerated"! 😂🤣
Thank you for posting all these great videos. I faintly remember watching this as it was televised back in 1980.
I read about this beatdown in an old wrestling magazine but never seen it until now. Thanks for posting!
Gordon was a great announcer.
Lord alfred hayes was a great heel.
"You fat, pompous oaf!"
CWF was always the best 👍
Baker Mayfield should have summoned up his inner Lord Alfred Hayes when he was disrespected by that reporter in Cleveland (October 30, 2019).
Oh man. . I remember watching this on TV in Sarasota! !!! Still painful to watch hump ' s beat down.
Same guy (Hump) who managed the Zambooey Express? Sorry to see that guy get beat down?! He's lucky they didn't carry him out in a body bag.
Thankfully Buggsy was there to help lift Hump on to the stretcher
Heel Lord Alfred Hayes is awesome
Hump Got "Rained On!!!" Poor Guy!!!!!😂😂😂
Lord Alfred was 52 in 1980
Notice how that "No Good" Dusty Rhodes did not come out to help Humperdink.
Here was the angle. Dusty was in Reno receiving the NWA Wrestler of the Year award at the time. He came back the following week and declared war on Alfred Hayes and Bobby Jaggers. "Gawdon, every time Dusty Rhodes leaves town, whether it's Reno Nevada, New York City, Hollywood California, somebody gotta step in and take the cheap shot...Now, Lord Alfred Hayes come over from England, with that Sassy Fancy talking, you understand, being the real fancy dude that he is..." As close as I remember anyway.
Only Lord Alfred Hayes can call you an "oaf," and you would actually feel insulted lol. God save the Queen!
Lord Alfred Hayes rules!
this is great .
Excellent too😁👍
Hayes was a Heel Manager in Mid atlantic and managed King James Valiant before he became the boogie woogie man.
he was a heel manager everywhere. lol. awa, canada, georgia
Jaggers looks like a blond hippie Doug Gilbert
Humperdink is obviously suffering from the Stockholm syndrome after the abuse he suffered at the hands of Dusty Rhodes. Alfred Lord Hayes shows real compassion here as he tries to break the emotional hold Rhodes has over Humperdink. The story has a happy ending, because Humperdink came to his senses after Rhodes turned on him.
Michael Connors paintbrushing humperdink into reality
Lord Alfred was so nice when he got with Vince
All that evil Ollie did was instant karma!
I know right ????👍
30 days in self quaratine 😅
"Promotional consideration paid for by the following......"
Humperdinck took a beating.
Oliee was always getting busted up!
the director did a smart move
Randy Lovering Better than Vince's big red x with Snuka.
I'd rather see the gore, otherwise, what's the point of blading on TV if it is going to be obscured?
They could’ve censored the bloodied face with a big black dot rather than cutting to the CWF logo.
Promotional Considerations paid for by the following
The Rooster gets a beating
😁👍
That's what humpty dumpsterdink gets for having smelly feet.. . A lord Alfred Hayes paintbrush.
Hahahaaa!! I love seeing his Lordship as a Heel..I remember early 80's when WWWF first came to USA network, every Wednesday or Thursday if I remember correctly, two hour WWF Primetime with Gorilla Monsoon & his Lordship as a Babyface color commentator..He took so much abuse but Gorilla was so good to him,he loved his Lordship..I think the Brain took over for Lord Al as Monsoon's partner around 1990?As much as Gorilla and Heenan fought on air as a "work",Bobby the Brain loved the shit outta Monsoon off camera, they were also great friends...
He shoulda done another 30 days in self qauratine
Lord Alfred was such a great heel. The WWWF wasted his talent imo...
He had it coming
This is one of the worst beatdowns I've ever seen in wrestling.
Humperdink!
