Love how they sold how hurt Walkup was supposed to have been cutting away to the NWA middle turnbuckle. Couldn't see anything but that NWA turnbuckle and hear Ladd screaming as he's "injuring" Walkup.

gordon solie was one of the biggest agitators in the country. what nerve- to insinuate jj would stoop to some chicanery- it aint his fault the fool jumped into a steel cage with terry funk. u heard it- he tried everything in his power to stop this thing... and then he turns around and signs on the dotted line vs ernie ladd. frankly- thats the breaks... god i still love my old school rasslin!

Walkup was billed as a Alabama trailer trash chump and was always worked over by other name wrestlers. Very strange member of the jobber hall of shame. He was gone from Florida as soon as he got there.

Bruce was not a good worker at this point but check out his "cage match" with Terry Funk...his beatdown was more convincing.
nope...his match with Ladd was shit.
To put it mildly. Ladd's big foot barely grazes his shoulder and he goes down for the count. This was a terrible angle. It might have worked better if one of the faces in the territory took Bruce under his wing and gradually made a wrestler out of him, but that never happened.
