Sims 2
In The Sims 2, the Little Baker Oven is a fun skill toy that can only be used by children. When kids bake in this oven, their cooking skill and fun will increase. But also The Little Baker Oven is a source of food. The only thing that can be baked is a muffin. While the muffin is baking, the Sim may get distracted and walk away, completely forgetting to take the muffin out of the oven. So you'll need to direct the Sim to get the food.
The muffin can be then eaten by everyone and even stored in the fridge as leftovers.
Sims 3
There is also a toy oven in The Sims 3, that can only be used by children.
But unlike the Sims 2, the Little Baker Oven will not raise the cooking skill higher than three points. And those points will become visible, when the Sim gains a cooking skill in his teens. Unlike The Sims 2, the toy oven in The Sims 3 produces more baked goods. The muffin is the basic recipe, but The Sims 3: Ambitions added Blueberry and Vanilla muffins. Unlike The Sims 2, the Sim will not leave until the goods are baked. and will leave the plate on the toy stove or in their inventory. The muffin is much smaller than the one in The Sims 2. Sims will also burn them more often when they have low cooking skill. Even though there are more recipes to make, the cooking process is the same for all of them. Skilled children will be able to make all of them: blueberry muffins, vanilla muffins pie, chocolate cake, vanilla cake, chocolate cookies, sugar cookies, chocolate brownies, caramel brownies, chocolate cupcakes and vanilla cupcakes. They can also make bunch of them for a fee.
Sims can then eat the baked goods or put them as leftovers. But children can also sell them using the bake sale table that came with Sims 3: Ambitions. Simply stock the bake table with baked goods from your inventory. You can also set the price. And now you're ready for customers.

The toy oven in TS3 was my favorite, the better the kids got then they could gain actual cooking skill :D so awesome.

Nah, that would be in a separate pack that only comes with child oven and 2-3 recipes (or maybe the same ones that exist already but possible to make by a kid) as an entire game pack.

@@Sahsicha I live in a mostly christian country (80%), my family and I are also christian and as a kid I never had any prob with playing the sims. If you play sims 3 you just have to move your camera when something weird is happening.

I like the appearance of the sims more in sims 2 than sims 3, but the builds/furniture look nicer in sims 3.
The Sims 3 offers more customization variety. The actual Sims... yeah, as much as I love TS3, they could be better LOL
Sims 2 gives so much character and life to the act of it while Sims 3 gives you more things to actually do with it.

Sometimes I think I'm a little weird for watching these videos about The Sims little details but when I think that 6k other people have also seen them, I feel less weird. ❤
By the way, the muffin in Sims 2 ranges from cupcake to super muffin. Also, children (Sims 2) can earn all their cooking skills from the oven, studying cooking from a book or watching "The Yummy Channel," unlike Sims 3's cap at 3 points that are hidden until they skill up as a teen+. There is also a downside that you did not mention (perhaps you may not know), if a child ages up to teen in Sims 2, while their muffin is in the oven, the oven cannot be accessed by anyone, and will need cheats (move objects, reset, etc.) or mods to be able to delete or sell. I do think muffins can be sold by teens or olders if OFB is installed (sadly, without mods, children cannot sell, except lemonade in Sims 2).
With that said, I do love how Sims 3 expanded upon the recipes for the toy oven, ergo I must admit, they deserve the overall win. I wish they went further, making it so they had to have the ingredients for the recipes, instead of just shopping out of thin air...haha.
Also, I haven't played Sims 3 in a bit, does the table autostock from inventory, or is the stock infinite? I did not see any of the baked goods disappear from the table.

I like both but sims 3 wins because more options. However, I like sims 2 for having the child forget about the oven. It adds to realism that children are children and they need to be guided. ❤️

Sims 4 better step up. This toy oven was my favorite feature of the sims 3. Maybe the sims 4 team can make an easy bake oven version and put it in a stuff pack about kids dreaming big.
No matter what they do, TS4 will never be as good as past games. Even if they tried which they lost all ambition.

The Shit 4 has the years of the Sims 2 and 3 together and still going. It has almost double the amount of the Sims 2 and 3 DLCs combined yet it’s still bare bones. The haven’t done in 10 years and 73 DLCs what the Sims 3 did in 5 years and 20 DLCs.
You can blame the Sims 3 store all you want but you didn’t need it to enjoy the Sims 3 nor content was withheld just to be upsold there. In the Shit 4 even laundry is sold separately, even popcorn machine, even ice cream machine, even bowling, even knitting, even movies, even basic family dynamics. Even butters who instead of being a feature in get famous were a huge feature in a stuff pack… *breathing in and out*

I love how the Sims two they always do like they always have better animations when in Sims four the animations are just weird and bad. I’m not saying all animations are bad but like. They need to make the animations better because and since two, they actually have stools for the kids to stand on because some more short and they can just grab anything. Everything is taller than the kids most likely.

Well, I think with the amount of gameplay mechanics, this is completely fine. I'd rather them reuse some animations and focus on making a good game. Many games use bought assets, like certain mechanics or animations, to be able to focus more on things, that actually matter and make the game what it should be about. I don't think them reusing things they own and made themselves before isn't anything bad, as long as they won't replicate the old things 1:1, make a game that consists only of old features, and claim it's brand new. That would be a problem then.

@KenyagirlyI agree that Sims 2, overall is better, but even I have to admit, Sims 3 does win out with their toy oven, and what certain expansion packs allow for more gameplay and recipes. Sims 2 children cannot even sell their muffins, but teens+ can sell them with OFB.
With that said, Sims 2 children (even toddler, with their related toys), have the ability to max their cooking skills with the toy oven (or by studying cooking or watching the Yummy Channel). Whereas, Sims 3 children are capped at 3 cooking points from only the toy oven, which remains hidden until they skill up cooking as a teen+.
@@TheMya1988 nothing wrong with adding some realism to it. Using nothing but an easy bake oven doesn’t make you skilled enough for other recipes. It makes sense it caps at a certain level so they’ll have to keep improving their craft as they get older rather than learning everything at the age of 5.
In The Sims 3, you'll often see townie kids selling their baked goods in the park if they own a toy oven.

They burn them less the higher the cooking skill. If they have 3 points they will rarely burn them.

I remember you could just open the toy oven right after the child put the muffin in to make them instantly finished. The child with low cooking skills can still manage to instantly burn the muffins somehow for being in the toy oven for only a second! Maybe they put the temperature extremely high but that would be not only way too dangerous for a kids' toy (like real life toy ovens) but you yourself could get burned once you just open the toy oven!
The parents would asking the child why are there smoke coming from the oven and the child could just respond with:
"Eh, oh this is not smoke, it's steam!"
There's an oven toy in the Sunset Valley library as well. I often see children use it. One of the best things I see is when mothers come in public places with their children and toddlers. They'll go to the playroom and keep themselves occupied while their moms are busy. I remember Miraj Alvi cooking a muffin with a horrifying quality, then leaving that muffin on the library table. Some townie Sim came over to the table, and ate the muffin. It made him sick and he ran to the bathroom to throw up. Sims 3 has been my favourite and main Sims game since 2009. The game simply is a masterpiece. And it's never gonna change.

also, i'm pretty sure Ravasheen made a super cool cooking oven for kids! I have it in my game and it works, if i remember correctly kids basically can produce nuggets with it but im not sure if there's more recipes
i remember making my kid sims do the baking to feed themselves so my adult sims didnt have ro and could just focus on toddlers😅
That's a great strategy! Teaching the kids important life skills from a young age... and the spare food can feed the family!

I didn't know you can bake pies and cakes in the Sims 3. As far as I know with Ambitions you can only bake muffins, cookies and brownies. Which expansion pack does pies and cakes come with

It depends on the skill level. More options become available at higher skill levels (though the toy oven cooking skill isn't visible in the skills tab).
