This is an absolutely gorgeous cake! You are a very talented family! I thought the process seemed quit simple and doable for such a large cake that looks like it would be hard to create!
+Tegra Hi Tegra, I have seen several post from you today, thanks so much for joining us here! Are you a Cake Decorating Student? If so you might be interested in this, check out this video cakedecoratinginstructor.com/launch-of-introduction-to-the-cake-academy-method-video-3/#
Hi! Thank you for this tutorial. We made a frozen cake for my nieces birthday party by following your tutorial. We had to improvise a bit, but it was certainly the talk of the birthday.
Totally over the top awesomeness! I ADORE this cake, makes me wish I had a little girl to make it for. I might just have to make one for myself, as I am a little girl at heart. Thanks for the video and you and your daughter are quite beautiful and fun to watch!
i know my daughter wouldn't have had any complained about any any with this if it was at her party this year but she turning 12 and I think she pretty adamant that she. wants to stick with the minion theme at her party this year any ideas if so help a thrifty and crafty mother as far as cheap decor , cake, game, etc... thanks in advance!!!
I really loved this cake!!I have a question that what is the difference between frosting and icings and what have you used. i am from India it would be a little harder to get those ding dongs!
Avantika Karir Hi Avantika, find something sweet and round that you do have in India :) the words Frosting and Icing are the same, but there are many differences in both. I use a product called Pastry Pride that is more of a Whip Topping. Decorating Buttercream is a shortening based icing that is made with a high ratio shortening for stability. ua-cam.com/video/QP9qKAJXHFE/v-deo.html, This is a video of how I make Decorating Buttercream. Thanks
Wow ,very beautiful cake ,I will try at my daughter's birthday,I am also happy to see it because we don't like fondant ,and in this ingredient you have used only chocolates and cream that we loved
I absolutely LOVE this cake!! I just discovered you about an hour ago and I cant stop watching your videos and I love that your daughter is into it too and shes also a natural! I hope some day my daughter will be my cake decorating buddy :D Anyway I've always wanted to try a castle cake but I've been a little afraid cuz it's rare to see one that actually looks good. you 2 make it look easy!! I'm VERY INSPIRED!!!! I will be doing this soon :D Thanks for all you do!
The cake is beautiful. I've been looking at castle cakes, making plans to put together a small one. Your idea of pre baked goods makes more sense than anything else I've seen. Thank you so much. Would you please share your buttercream recipe, it looks so light and smooth?
+Annie Wells Thank you so much for watching! The icing we are using in this video is Pastry Pride whipped topping, and it can be found in most restaurant supply stores. This cake looks great with butter cream also, the recipe for that is below. DECORATING BUTTERCREAM 2 CUP SHORTENING (SWEETEX) 1 CUP MILK (CANNED MILK IS GOOD) 2 TSP VANILLA 1 TSP. ALMOND EXTRACT ½ TSP.BUTTER FLAVORING 3 LB. POWDERED SUGAR 2 tsp. salt Mix together and beat 10 minutes until light and fluffy Will keep in refrigerator for about 2 wks. Is enough To ice and decorate an 8 or 9 inch double layer cake. You can cut the recipe in half if you don't need that much.
Guten Tag, Liz. That Frozen castle cake looks really beautiful like your teamwork. Arigatou Gozaimazu for sharing this beautiful cake with us. I am looking forward to your beautiful Belle (gold ball gown) cake really soon. What do you love about cakes? Have a good day, Liz. 💖💖💖Arrivederci!
Hello, love your cakes, you alwayssssss do a great job...and bdw, it doesn't have to be prefect, we're only human. Thanks for your ideas, you are a great tutor!
She DID say she wanted to do an easier version, and for most of us out there who aren't professional bakers, the easy way out sounds splendid. Nowhere did she say that professionals should use this method. You needn't be this negative in your comments. You could have easily said the same thing in politer words.
Doesn't matter if it's a kids cake or not or if you are a professional baker or a regular at home baker it still should look good if your going to do a UA-cam how-to video. Using donuts, ding dongs and other bake goods from a box doesn't really make it your cake not to mention how gross it looks and sounds. Just as easy to make small cakes to replace the prepackaged bake goods/ cupcakes. Plus I don't think I was to rude. When you post videos you expect some criticism.
Hi u both make lovely cakes m in love with you and your work , and more over it’s well explained and easy demonstration. My son will be one this month and he loves cartoon character “baby joy joy” is it possible if you could demonstrate this one please it’s a request😀
muito bom.... adorei o trabalho de vocês, pois tudo muito fácil e prático. Podemos fazer em casa sem dificuldade alguma. Parabéns "perfect cake",,,, good!!!!! Brazil
Why I am not seen it before yesterday... there was my daughter's birthday..she wished for the castle cake...but I don't had a easy and this much simplest work ideas...thank you so much..next time I definitely try this cake..very nice work both of you...I going to follow you🏃 love from India ❤️
Wow! That's such a sweet cake! I'm near my 30s but I'd still be super excited if someone made such a precious cake for my birthday. :) It's too bad we don't have your kind of sweets over here, I wonder whether there's any good replacement for those donuts and giant muffins... I'll post a pic should I ever be able to make one of those beauties!
EclipseXIV Anything round and this general size would work. I just wandered the grocery store until I found what I thought would work. They just need to be dense enough to hold up under the weight.
nice.how do I store the candy melt snowflake.do I need to put in refrigertor/ freezer .as my snowflake broke when I stored at room temp while lifting them up
I'm so excited to make the Frozen cake for my grandaughter this weekend. Can I make it the day before? What is the earliest I can make it? Can you make the snowflakes with royal icing or will it be to fragile? Also, I've never stacked a cake but I did go back and watch the 'wedding cake stacking. Just the 4 dowels in a circle, correct?
Lisa Gillette-GLICK Hi Lisa, yes you can make it the day before, but I would clear out the fridge and keep it cool and safe until the party. Yes Royal icing will work fine, just remember they need a couple of days to dry and they Can't go in the fridge. You'll have to put them on the day of the party. They melt in the fridge. 4 dowells should be plenty but use your judgement more can't hurt. Please send us a photo at " the art of frosting' on Facebook. I can't wait to see it. Happy Decorating!
My boy will turn 3 this coming August and he's been telling me that he wants to have a prince themed party. I've watched several castle cake tutorials but most them use lots of fondants, and I am not that fond of sugar. This cake is the perfect answer for me! Best part is, my son loves blue! Thank you so much! Will definitely try this out!
Lonna Matthews Hi Lonna, ummm that's a good question :) Well, I think I would remove the back two towers, bottom and top, then begin to cut across the back in 2x2 slices (like a brick layer). This cake is a 10" round and will serve about 36 cut this way. Thanks Liz
mam my 5 year old nephew loved your video, its a great one i can really see those efforts you did put in,keep it up your daughter is cute & beautiful wishes from INDIA !!!

Trying this for my daughter's birthday. What frosting options do you recommend? Want something light and not too sweet but want it to keep shape of couse. Your daughter is adorable and funny. Thank you
cesar martinez Cesar, I really like using Pastry Pride or Rich's Bettercream. They are very stable and not too sweet. You can find them both at restaurant supply stores like smart and final or Cash and Carry. Some Cake Decorating Supply stores or kitchen shops carry it as well. Here is a recipe for my decorating buttercream as well. ua-cam.com/video/QP9qKAJXHFE/v-deo.html
hi liz. just wanna say that I love this cake. its AMAZING.. I want to try and do it but I have a few questions.. at the beginning of the video. you made the snow flakes out of white chocolate.. so is that only white chocolate that is melted or how did u make it? also the blue thing you put the cones ins. is it just white chocolate melted with blue color? or can you please tell me how you did it exactly.. or is it just blue icing??? well hopefully you can answer me.. thanks :)
alejandra g I am just us.ing "white chocolate" or "Candy Melt" Wilton brand. The Blue on the cones is the same "candy Melt" you can add an oil based food coloring to white chocolate to get the same effect. You could also use Royal icing for both , but it would need to dry overnight.
Hi Liz Larson, im so impressed whit your Frozen Cake. I Really want to do this, but i have 2 questions. ( Im from Argentina, i cant speak a lot of english) 1: What are the ingredients of the light blue cream, which you used for cones? 2: And whar are the ingredients of the white cream, which you used to do the snowflakes? I really want your reply. Grettings from argentina!
