Festive Smoked Salmon Canapés

  • Looking for something a little more exciting than chips and dip to serve at your holiday party? Look no further. These Festive Smoked Salmon Canapés are a winner every time. They're easy, elegant and taste delicious!
    Ingredients:
    Thinly sliced pumpernickel bread
    1/2 Cup Crème fraîche
    Zest of a lemon
    4 oz Smoked salmon or lox
    Caviar (feel free to use inexpensive lumpfish caviar)
    Fresh dill sprigs
    A holiday themed cookie cutter
    Method:
    Using the cookies cutter, cut the pumpernickel into individual shapes and place on a serving platter.
    Using a microplane or grater, zest half the lemon into the crème fraîche and stir to combine.
    Spread the crème fraîche mixture onto the pumpernickel.
    Top with a piece of salmon.
    Sprinkle with dill.
    Top with a dollop of caviar.
    Garnish the platter with dill and lemon slices.
    These can be stored in the refrigerator for 2 -3 days.
