The problem with the F1 series now is they keep adding things no one asks for (F1 world etc), while ignoring the obvious additions/changes people do want like classic cars and tracks, more sim-like handling. What is even the point of having legends in the game without their classic cars, I'd imagine almost no one uses them in career mode. They are just so out of touch with what their consumers and community want.
Almost like "completely overhauled career mode" is just the over-hyped marketing strategy it promised to be. What did people think they going to do, not follow the f1 season or something? Make it full fantasy?
Yeah thats exactly what i want in a when playing a F1 game the Immersion. How do games like 2010 2011 feel more immersive then the newer ones what i disslike the most is feeling like i just get teleported from race weekend to race weekend. There should literarly be menus on the Weekend whith different parts of the Paddock as the Background. U shouldn't also just be cut of the race a few seconds after a crash specialy on a bigger crash u don't even get to the end of ur crash. Also that retired cars just despawn is so lazy literary there was a old F1 game called grandprix 4 where the cars literarly get pushed off by a Marshall okay that Marshall was a Superhero cause he did it all by himself but with todays tec level u could easily add retired cars getting cleared by Marshalls if it was possible back then. Also ghosting in Singleplayer all the stuff kills my Immersion alot. I get it that it can be anoying online when cars wouldn't ghost but in Singleplayer i want to feel like a real F1 driver and how the fuck am i supposed to feel like that when the Cars on the circuit just ghost after a crash. If there is a destroyed car on the track and i don't notice that then i just crash out i rather have it that way then driving through a Ghost.

Agreed, especially with the Drive To Survive influx of fans to F1 - the career mode could make use of some of the behind the scenes angle. Not like decorating your Monaco apartment but things like choice of manager that have different strengths and styles, living close to the team or fly in-fly out, awareness could affect the strength of the indicator of a car approaching behind or alongside. Also, have the ability to play as the reserve drivers - Lawson working his way into the RB. And I’ll add to the chorus of team sponsors being added to the blank helmet as you change teams
The sad part is you could be a test driver in f1 06 and we still don’t have that now 😢. Also for the love of god can they please put in pre season testing, moto gp has had pre season and mid season testing now for years. Plus the testing helps development of next years bike. Sigh one can only dream…
Developing our own Power Unit would be something game changing. Finding a way to keep the player on top of Power Unit decisions throughout their career whether they play for 1 season or 7 seasons would just add another element to the game. I know this is more of a My Team idea, but it would make the player have even more control of their team and career and I believe would keep people playing for the whole year.
thing is, career already is interesting, i do get people being negative about lack of content cause game cost big money, but this honestly exceeded my expectations since idk how people are not already used to it, like ever since Codies started making games, biggest updates were 2019 driver swap and my team in 2020, other than that game has been always the same to the core with updates only to UI and handling, this will definitely keep me personally less bored cause it adds mechanics that i made up in my head while playing and its cool to have it visualized
I feel when you play as driver for a real team, the team player shouldn't be in control of the updates, but there to be consulted and request the updates.
One cool thing that should be added is regulation change's effect car handling. Aero changes can make Dirty air stronger or weeker. Engine changes can make you have rich mix available. Chassis changes can make your car be lighter or heavier.
Ben was happy to go to EA and be part of the trailer probably for some "exclusive" stuff in return, as long as it benefits them, these F1 youtubers never complain about the quality of the more recent F1 games.
I was really hoping (but not expecting) changes on practice sessions, they are so bad with broken mini games and don't really help you in finding a setup that suits you.
That's what I'm going to do, ain't no way am I going to buy it full price, especially not when it first comes out, because I don't want to buy a game just for it to be terrible.

one thing that's always lacking is depth in driver transfer silly season. at present, it only feels like it's me affecting the driver market, and I want it to work the other way around as well, not just being a case of "are you hitting targets. yes. good. seats still yours." I want other driver moves to put me under threat, a top team driver release that impacts me and even forces me back down the grid and keeps me needing to earn and fight for my spot. currently it feels like i'm independant of that entire aspect of the sport, not impacted by it.

Bring back news stories like the style we used to have in F1 2012. That would also bring a new element into it and make the career feel more immersive. Make them run negative or positive stories on you depending on your performances.
I want all of the career stuff to been able to play with 20 people. Imagine league racing with all of the career mode features like car upgrades, contract negotiations, reliability management, all that stuff would make league racing more interesting and fun.

But having an option in the in-game career settings to turn this feature on or off would entice more people to try it out without the full commitment of having to do it every season.

Mix that and needing to invest R&D points into next seasons car alongside the current years car would go a long way to making each season different and more interesting.
So could you have 2 totally different cars within a team? For example co-op player 1 goes and upgrades aero and player 2 goes the engine route, does that mean that player doesn't get the aero updates and viceversa you don't get the engine ones? Cause that might make co-op the BEST game mode in a while! Imagine being in the same team and your cars are so different beating your team mate comes down to actual skill and set up of the car
They literally did the bare minimum this year, they fixed a few long outdated tracks, pretended to add traction and suspension to their cars, and added specialist into their game only so in 6 months they can sell 2015 Hamilton archetype and make 20 bucks lmao.
If there is truly no more mid season transfers like you mentioned, THANK GOD, I always hated the fact that 2019 was the only game that let you disabel mid season transfers, because even if you were in the lead of the championship, you could still get fired half way thru in driver career
Although this is true you could just turn off driver transfers completely until Round 12 I think it was when mid season changes could happen and then turn them back on again. Stops transfers happening mid season, just got to remember to turn it back on again!

As someone that used to be a top 5 player in an EA sports game, just give it up. They will never do the things you want them to. All they want to do is find different ways into your wallet.
One thing im worried about is the problem with the helmets, e.g if max verstappen moves to mercedes by looks of it he is still going to have a red bull helmet which isnt realistic

I hope that one day people (including streamers) will stop buying EA games until they give us the changes that we want. They have no incentive to change as long as they keep making $$. Negative reviews and angry comments mean literally nothing if you still buy the game.
I would be happy with this amount of update to career mode if they did this much in 2 years of 3 not for the 1st time in 5 (and that's counting My Team in the same bracket)

Would love a career mode that starts with you as a kid and you go through a go kart season or 2 then skip a few years and go into F3 then F2, then into F1
Isn't the reputation thing something similar to what we had back in 2019 as well. Maybe it means more now, but Respect from all teams was a thing back then as well
When EA revamped FIFA career mode, we got a big change in lay-out of menus and some small new feature that are rather disliked than liked. So don't expect too much
Question I have on career mode since I couldn't see it on the UI in the video but have specialists replaced the facility bonuses? The personnel facility boosts that were giving all drivers permanent stat boosts was a big reason I couldn't enjoy career mode as much as I'd have liked since 2020. If they're gone alongside these changes I'm personally happy with career mode this year. Although having an in game driver stat editor would be nice since we know Codies will screw up the stats again.
all I’m sayin… is in the official F1 video game… they really spent more energy working on the behind the scenes part of F1 (business, drama, awards) rather than fixing what is actually important; physics, graphics, Ai imo the graphics have looked the same for almost a decade. And that’s not a good thing when I’d personally say games like f1 2013 look better than the new ones. The shadows + lighting looks horrid in contrast to what other games are doing I get this isn’t a full sim, but the cars look and feel like boats when driving. But yea I could go on and on,,, but basically everyone has been buying a reskinned DLC for almost a decade now…
i wish they added classic cars and short circuits. gives the game more variety rather than buying it almost the same as last year and only playing for 3 or 4 months then getting bored
I like how this video is more grounded, because I think Aarava was bit too hyped over drivers career and talked too much about what it could be. Anyway the only thing so far that gets me excited about it is idea of new videos of two drivers career with Jarno and Jake.
I wonder with the challenge career mode that obviously has a custom season length if you will. Will we get that in the base career mode or my team? I reckon not personally otherwise they’d probably be shouting about it in all of their trailers but it’s clearly possible and a simple addition that would go a long way.
I wish we can have a better mechanism for signing new contracts like getting teams sign you not like F1 23 where wherever you wanted to go u could . I want a challenge like think I can say it like I think it but I hope you understand

Why not customize your helmet? You could customize your car in the latest NFS game and option to Pick from community made ones. Why not that option with the Helmet? They have it in Gran Turismo 6 aswell. But i’ll gonna wait to gets included in the ea play. To expensive for the things they have added. Just a f23 with some few new additions
That being said, I highly doubt we get many big changes to the game unless they stop making the game accessible to the older generation consoles. I completely agree that this looks like a huge marketing spin to get everyone to purchase the game. Only thing that would get their attention is if everyone decided to not purchase the game.

What if you *actually don't* use flashbacks and treat your career as a 2 or 4 player career mode? No restarts? Would make it interesting.
Thank you Ben for being honest. Too many UA-camrs deep throat EA so they keep getting invited to test new games but we deserve good games not this horse shit they’ve pumped out for 4 years in a row
I hope that one day people (including streamers) will stop buying EA games until they give us the changes that we want. They have no incentive to change as long as they keep making $$. Negative reviews and angry comments mean literally nothing if you still buy the game.
I would be happy with this amount of update to career mode if they did this much in 2 years of 3 not for the 1st time in 5 (and that's counting My Team in the same bracket)
Just put a Line of the helmets that the drivers have custom made from this and old seasons. Could be a cool addition

To be honest my Team is ass for console players anyways. Driving with a plastic design and ugly fake sponsors isn't immersive for me atleast. Without modded liverys u can forget my team anyways in my opinon.

F1 23 on discount. It has one of the best handling imo amongst the F1 games. So that is an upgrade.

When EA revamped FIFA career mode, we got a big change in lay-out of menus and some small new feature that are rather disliked than liked.

My team is still there as a game mode in f1 24. But driver career modes have the main focus for updates :)

Question I have on career mode since I couldn't see it on the UI in the video but have specialists replaced the facility bonuses? The personnel facility boosts that were giving all drivers permanent stat boosts was a big reason I couldn't enjoy career mode as much as I'd have liked since 2020. If they're gone alongside these changes I'm personally happy with career mode this year. Although having an in game driver stat editor would be nice since we know Codies will screw up the stats again.

I like how this video is more grounded, because I think Aarava was bit too hyped over drivers career and talked too much about what it could be.
Anyway the only thing so far that gets me excited about it is idea of new videos of two drivers career with Jarno and Jake.
Needed updates: classic cars / much more realistic handling model and force feedback / support for VR on all platforms
I wonder with the challenge career mode that obviously has a custom season length if you will. Will we get that in the base career mode or my team? I reckon not personally otherwise they’d probably be shouting about it in all of their trailers but it’s clearly possible and a simple addition that would go a long way.

Why not customize your helmet? You could customize your car in the latest NFS game and option to Pick from community made ones. Why not that option with the Helmet? They have it in Gran Turismo 6 aswell.

We need a much better helmet customization option. It sucks for those of us who aren't on PC using mods.

That being said, I highly doubt we get many big changes to the game unless they stop making the game accessible to the older generation consoles. I completely agree that this looks like a huge marketing spin to get everyone to purchase the game. Only thing that would get their attention is if everyone decided to not purchase the game.
