Hey fellas! I hope you'll enjoy this 3rd and final Raider Guide. With this video out of the way, I can now focus my efforts on my upcoming Bandit Playthrough, which is coming... when this video reaches 5000 likes. Just kidding, no likes required, episode 1 comes out when it's ready, which shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks. The likes would still be appreciated, though. :)
Halcylion this might be an odd question, but can you make a tutorial how to switch characters in order to get a new one so u can reasearch new set of skills fast. Its pretty hard to invest into trade skill if your whole game was sieging castles My charecter is 52 years old and i already have 6 kids and 2 of em are 18, and i find that is pretty hard to die in this game ironacly XD
I wish I found you earlier. I love your Bannerlord videos. I LOVE the bandit ballads. I wish it were more popular and lucrative for you. I really hope you do more. Best wishes.
Better late than never. I will have to try my hand at different video styles, probably even different games, and maybe that will make the channel a bit more lucrative. :)
So sad this tutorial series has come to an end, but I'm definitely looking forward to your next campaign in a couple weeks though, you do a great job man, like a diamond in the rough. Hopefully you get the views you deserve someday.
I always found it easiest to just intimidate the bandits into joining without a fight. They usually do this if the numbers are stacked against them. The most I've gotten to join at one time is 53 with my army of +100... got lucky with that rng since I didn't have scarface. Forest bandits work well for this since normally they can rip you apart other than that, I hit bandit camps in the horse lands to get those super fast bandits without having to get them on the map. They fall really fast when attacking their camps. That got harder after they changed the khan guards to no longer have maces... As for prisoner recruitment, have at least 1 of each bandit/ prisoner type and garrison/ dungeon the rest. It goes down the chain and flags 1 at a time for recruitment to make the process much faster. Force conscription doesn't just give the units from the village. You can also take their militia as prisoners when it tries to resist.
If you want to min/max this a bit more: The best bandit units imo are: 1. Raiders (upgrade into Kheshik --> Khan's Guard, best unit in the game) 2. Highwayman (upgrade into Vlandian Champion --> Banner Knights, best melee cav in the game) 3. Harami (upgrade into Aserai Faris --> Vanguard Faris, very flexible cav, very strong) 4. Forest Bandits (upgrade into Battian Fian, best archer unit in the game) 5. Sea Raiders (either keep them or upgrade them into sturgian infantry --> spearmen or axemen) 6. (Looters) (looters upgrade into T2 imperial troops which are the most flexible infantry in the game, they also level the fastest) Raiders (Steppe bandits) are easily the best on par with Highwayman (Mountain bandits), Harami are easy to get (Desert Bandits). The others are just good enough infantry unit, they are strong on their own, sea raiders have good javelins, Forest bandits are good archers. All of these units upgrade into the very best units in the game and easily make the strongest endgame army possible. But keep in mind the mentioned tips in the video about how to deal with horses/warhorses as requirements.
The partners in crime perk in rogue skill seems to make it where I always get bandit groups to join me no matter their size no. the most notable time was when I got a group of 43 sea Raiders to join me and I only had 94 men
One thing you missed is sledgehammer. It is a 2h 110 reach mace. It can be used from horseback with bit of practice. Also looters have use end game. Put small group in separate loose formation and place in front of the army. AI will shot them full of arrows and javelins instead of your more expensive troops.
Hey Hal, love your videos. About how to recruit more people in army, if you have companion and you have your own kingdom, you can make parties and then create army and call your companions to your army. When you visit hostile villages, you can't recruit, but your companions can recruit. Or just follow parties and watch while they grow and call them later back.
To catch horse bandits. There is a quest that ask you to hunt down 8 bandit groups. When you accept this quest bandits around that town purposely stop and get caught. If you want to hunt down horse bandits acceptibg this quest is the best way to do it.
I love being on campaign and seeing a group of 100 looters, If your army is large enough they are free troops. Also, legionaries are the best shield infantry in the game once you upgrade the looters. You can also just throw them in a fresh castle as a skeleton force to secure a new conquest from the random lords who may try to retake it without an army
New Recruitment idea: create alot of parties and then wait in a town or do couple quests and go to clan then look where the parties are then go there and the click “Inspect your troops then get then disband and click the party then let them join your party then repeat
I think the best way to build up a bandit army early that is solid and is easy to obtain is to clear aserei bandit bases! Very easy to clear!! Easy to grab prisoners!!
Great video. Did your raider king stay single? I know that marrying can also get you a good "ride or die" warrior with her own party. Would help immensely in your rise to power. I assume that's something you'd want to do sooner rather than later though. Haven't tried to marry into hostile relations, but I assume it's difficult, if not impossible.
My problem is always to get a big enougha rmy to invade/conquer cities and castles. I think 190 soldiers was max onmy very late game char. I don't think I got up to 267 even as a king.
Halcylion, what's the best bannerman gift in your opinion? Like the "supa fast" Aserai horse or Caladog's broken AF Reaper (with mere 40k re-sell value)?
@@Halcylion Indeed. I found out a crafted polearm sledgehammer is actually the best weapon for me and it can be sold for 6,5k, even though it requires less than 100 smithing. Give that thing to bröther and bandit bases will curse your family.
Dont forget militia! When a lord raids a village, they tend to capture a few dozen militia, though i've seen 101 once. Fight the weakened lord, get a ton of troops. They're shit, sure. But its free, and you can shove them into a settlement's garrison or something.
Always buy Imperial charger warhorses for about 350. Buying anything else for upgrades is a complete waste of money especially since Empire spans half the map.
Awsome vid, though there is one thing missing during the part about getting warhorses, if you get lucky during the early game you might be able to get a "deliver herd" mission from one of the many aserai horse villages. If you do you can just decide to keep them for yourself. I got lucky and managed to get around 10-15 aserai horses by mid 1084.
The best method of getting lots of steppe bandits is to have high bow and horse skills. Shoot them to shreds, most will die but the few that survive you can imprison. Rinse and repeat until you get an army of around 20, it doesn't take too long and you'll beat every village militia really easily
Or just autoresolve the fights. More people get injured in autoresolving than when you join battles yourself. That, and none of them runs away. But the best way to do it is to get some Mace/Shield infantry and raiding steppe hideouts.
If they don't surrender (robbery), you squeeze them. First you sell them some random loot until they run out of money, then you attack the same caravan 2,3,4 times to get most of your loot back. Also, do you have the scarface perk? Almost everyone started surrendering after I unlocked that one.
i think you need 5 times the bandits numbers to recruit them from dialogue screen and avoid battle. so 5 bandits wish to be recruited if your force is 26 men
Nice guide, i suppose you're engaging war only after making your own kingdom ? Because i started a campaign but I don't see how you can make money if all kingdoms are hostile, it just make the whole caravan, peasant raiding useless because you can't sell your stuff, at least until you have captured a city which is impossible to do without an army and a castle first : /
Vassal single-time reward with troops and weapon, leave kingdom and do that to every faction, only 2lvl clan and relationship with faction leader above -10 is needed

He's like the Internet Historian of Bannerlord. Or whoever that guy who completely broke down Half-life's mechanism.
I wouldn't even call it exploiting, i would call it optimization of game mechanics
