Really enjoy the travel vlogs man! I what all the Alaska series. Those DR 650 are heavy machines I’ve owned 2 of them. What do you prefer for travel KTM or Suzuki?
Hi Mike, thanks for your comment.. Long story short. I never really fell in love with the 690. And when i turned it into a adventure bike. It felt heavy up front. But the main reason i switched to the Suzuki DR650 is the reliability. I do most of my adventures solo. And wanted to eliminate as many things that could go wrong. Sensors, fuel pumps etc.. And i don't regret changing to the DR one bit.. Once the DR is modded and dialed in... Its a great machine.. I'm quite behind on getting vids out.. but promise ill make a more in depth vid on it.. As I'm sure its puzzling :)
@@ZSharkPH Your perspective on reliability is well-taken. I have a 2003 640 Adventure that I intend to take on the BDRs and know preventive maintenance is key. I don't plan on riding solo, however, so that may alleviate some concerns. Lyndon Poskitt has traveled around the world (Races2Places) on his 690 modified (Basil Bike) and swears by them but he's riding at a whole different level and purpose. I'm sure you've heard of the modifications to the DR650 chronicled by Barry in Australia (Enduro Cross Training channel)?
@@osimnod I haven't been lucky enough to try a KTM 640 yet. But i hear they are great bikes. It would be a great choice for the BDR'S. And i have watched both of those channels you mentioned religiously . Great content and unbiased information in my opinion. Barry is a big reason i switched to the Mighty DR. Noah on ADV adventure also rode his 690 around the world.. He gave me the travel bug many years ago.
How is the engine heat on the DR650 in city traffic? I'm thinking about getting on but I'm not trying to cook my legs at a stop light. You're making great videos man keep it up.
Thanks for watching John.. Not really sure how to answer that.. I guess the pipe side might get hot. But as long as your wearing good pants. I don't notice my legs more hot than anywhere else. The DR is a great bike.. Ride on!!!
So happy to see another installment of your motorcycle videos. Very, very enjoyable to watch. Looking forward to the next one.
Thank you for the kind words. Its much appreciated.
Nice desert view out there. Best kept secret.
Thanks Steve..A good desert sunset never gets old.
Looks like you have a lot of stuff. Looking forward to the next video. Hope you are doing well.
Thanks Mark.. I have some great footage i think. Would Love to see another one of your vids as well.. in case you needed a nudge 😉👍
@@ZSharkPH Yah, I have not been motivated to make videos lately. I'm sure you know how that goes :-)
