I've recently started TC (within this month). I absolutely love it, so I'm glad to find your channel as I am on this journey. I tried knitting a couple of years back but just couldn't get the feel of it. TC is awesome for me. I haven't made much yet...just a couple of dishcloths and Tss squares. But I am planning to start a temperature blanket in February. Thanks for your channel and video. I look forward to adding you to my youtube teachers. Blessings. :)

Thank you so much and WELCOME! I''m so glad I can help you with your TC! And I understand about the knitting. My first attempt to learn went very badly and I didn't try again for over a year. At some point I plan to do a video showing crocheters how to use Tunisian crochet to learn how to knit, so keep an eye out for that if you want to try again. 🙂

Thanks for sharing. I’m a self taught crocheter and have admired the look of this way of crocheting. Tried a few times years ago. Would love to really give it a try again.

Welcome and thank you for watching! Some beginners find Tunisian easier to tackle and I'm glad you are enjoying it so much - there are so many gorgeous Tunisian patterns out there. May I ask - what were your pain points with regular crochet? The edges? Reading/counting your stitches? yarn tensioning? I plan to do a video or two on ways to help crochet newbies and was curious what you would like help with...

Thanks for all the tips. I love tunisian crochet, but had to give up because my edges were not straight

I wonder how doing a long tail knit cast on would change the edges.

I’m guessing it would work fine…that edge just wouldn’t match the other three. Try it and let us know!🙂

I have crocheted before and made 2 blankets. I am more of a knitter but what I don’t understand is if you are chaining a lot for a blanket how are you going to fit all the stitches on the even long hook won’t fit them all on to pull true to go back to the beginning. Seem like most examples use a small swatch to show you how to do it. Can you explain that for me please. Or share a video for longer blankets.

For a long time, tunisian afghans were made in strips. But there are hooks on long cables available now - I talk about the various hook options in the companion episode here: ua-cam.com/video/OKp6h1dyDxM/v-deo.html. Lots of good info in it, but skip forward to 6:01 for the section on hook types. 🙂 Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
