    It’s nice to see more Tunisian crochet on UA-cam. This way of Tunisian crochet makes brilliant hats and jumpers!

    Alright, I have own a couple of double end crochet hooks for over 40 years now,. Never learned how to work with them so just added them to my collection. Now after watching your video I feel I can finally pull them out and finally put them to some good use.

    Tunisian crochet is so much fun - but to use a double ended hook ... and not have curling! Very Cool. As always - thanks for sharing.

    Wow, crochet never ceases to amaze me....there is just so much variation that there is always more to learn. Thank you so much for your awesome videos. I had seen double-ended hooks but never really knew what type of circumstance it would be used for or what it would create! Thank you!

    Great video. 😊 One recommendation if someone is going to purchase double ended crochet hooks make sure you look at both ends to ensure they are the same size. There are crochet hooks labled as double ended crochet hooks but the ends are two different sizes 5mm/5.5mm) and are usually the same length, sometimes a little longer than a regular crochet hook. I've made a couple scarfs using two contrasting colors and they've turned out really nice. Thank you Ellen for sharing your love of crochet and yarn with us.

      @@EllenGormleyCrochet Bravo for your video on Paris ! I laughed a lot and liked your comments. Yes colored pants are popular since 3 years, even on elderly thin men. Red or yellow mostly. Yes we put a skirt on as soon as there is a drop of sunshine. Yes, no crochet in the streets. Montmartre, macarons, Sainte Chapelle and Giverny you did not loose your time ! Gingham seems to be "petits carreaux" (?) we like them since Brigitte Bardot which is long ago..... I am very happy and proud that your beautiful family had a pleasant stay in Paris. Thank you !

    Thank you for this tutorial, the last one I checked out was too fast for me to understand. You make this very understandable to do. Been wanting to learn this stitch for awhile and neighbor gave me 2 hooks(do not know the sizes), so I am going to do a scarf with 2 colors.

    Hi, thank you for sharing this video!!! I got a pattern with this double ended hook. I can make the knit stitches and the purl stitches. The pattern calls for a purl increase and decreases on the return row. Im have difficulty with the purl increase. Is there any way you could help?
    The pattern that im working on is Ripple Jacket by Diane Simpson. Sold by Annie's

    Very interesting. I always looked at those hooks and wondered what they were for and then forgot to investigate them by the time I got home. Blonde, brain cloud or senior moment? You decide. lol. 😳 Seems like it would make a very warm scarf or scarf with the hat attached (scoodie?). Thank you for the demonstration. ❤️💜 🌼

    My mom gave me all her crochet hooks and there were 2 of these in J and K. Wondered how to use them. Thank you for a wonderful explanation.
    I have a question though do you have to use 2 colors? Can you use 2 balls of same.

    • @EllenGormleyCrochet
      @EllenGormleyCrochet  6 років тому +1

      Of course! Use two balls of the same color or work from both the inside of the ball and outside at the same time, though you'll have to watch tangling.

    I really love the double ended crochet, out goes so quickly but it uses a lot of yarn, the thing is you cab do the most amazing things with it and it is so super easy. I've only ever seen 1 stitch with it though. I'm not sure it has a huge variety of stitches but I can tell you it is fun! Are you saying i can use Tunisian stitches for this?? I have the hooks with the cable, which are super hard to find for afghans and I Just love them. Also many like one you have there. So glad you demonstrated it! Are there any stitches to lighten it up a bit? It is rather bulky!

    • @EllenGormleyCrochet
      @EllenGormleyCrochet  6 років тому +4

      Yes, you can use all Tunisian stitches with it but they will look different because of the turning. Yes, you can make it lacy too.
