I actually play the 12* Mini driver and really like it , its actually longer then my fit driver ! I was able to hit a Demo SLDR 12* driver on the range today and it was a bomber and balls went straight for me so may have to try the Bonded SLDR S in 12* . Keep the reviews coming Mark ! Thanks for all your time with the videos too.
Getting the exact same club on Tuesday Mark, so thanks for the video. Gone up 1 degree after fitting so hopefully this will improve my driving.feels so good and easy to hit.
In addition to the high loft range, the SLDR S includes one other departure for TaylorMade: The S models do not have the rotating adjustable hosel that has been a big part of the company's metalwood technology since 2009. Instead, the heads are bonded to the shaft, saving weight that can be used to lower center of gravity. The driver does feature the sliding sole weight designed to enhance draw or fade bias.
i really love this club, i was somewhat drunk when i went to golftown (in canada) to get this club, i was with my buddy and we both had..... i emphasize the had d13 drivers, with the sldr s it is so easy, to strike clean and smooth and far. I don't get as far as i did, but i can put it within a 10 yard radius of where i want it, keep in mind i still hit that ball at least 340 and with the weight, i can keep it dead center, i would advise all to get this, but keep it mind, not all golfers hit the same way, both Simon ( my buddy) and I have 2-5 handicaps......
Mark I would be interested to see what you thought of the MD Superstrong Superfit TI driver in comparison to the Taylormade SLDR. The difference in cost between them is £100 versus £360 in my local shop. The two drivers have similar characteristics such as adjustable lofts but i'd like to know how the stats of the two drivers compare and is the Taylormade worth the extra £260. Love the videos keep up the good work.
Mark, here's what sold me on the stock SLDR over the S: the benefit of the traditional SLDR for someone who is an improving golfer, or a high handicapper working on his game, is that by having an adjustable neck it allows you to lower your loft as your swing improves and angle of attack gets better. It gives you more flexibility over the time. Thoughts?
That is one of the reasons I bought r11s a couple years ago. Especially, changing the face angle, I like how I can elliminate the left side of the course with it.
I bought the S and it has legitimately helped a lot. Admittedly I also got it with a stiffer shaft than what I had been using*. Nonetheless my shots have been better. It also seems like I can shape my balls more precisely on course. I really couldn't be more pleased with the SLDR-S. *had the club pro tell me that my shaft looked like a wet noodle while I was swinging it and told me to consider getting a stiff shaft
Like the comparison between yours and Steve Buzza's numbers. Still not converted to Taylor Made, not sure why, but may be temped to 'Turbulate' as I need the help.
I know this is an old video, but I hope I will get a reply to this question: Assuming I do not have the luxury of getting fitted and measured for this club - what kind of difference in distance would you expect between the 12, 14 and 16 degree variant as I am unsure of which to purchase. I know this is a difficult question to answer but I hope you could offer some insight - even based on your own golf game! Many thanks
Hi Mark, I just bought one of these yesterday in a 10deg with regular Taylor stiff shaft. While my iron striking has generally been strong (to the point that I now play a UDI 1 iron) I have always struggled with my driver. At the fitting I dropped 1000 spin compared with my old Callaway X hot driver and was losing less fades to the right and even managed some light draws with the slidey thing on max draw bias. Keep up the reviews!! Finally, do you still do lessons? I am moving to the UK next year from Australia and would be keen.
I got this driver about a month back and I absolutely love it. I got it for a ridiculously cheap price, and I'm hitting the ball further than I have ever hit it in my life. I can get 290 carry easily. Better looking than the normal one (and even the white one, IMO) at a cheaper price point. I love it. Ugly headcover, though.
I think it would be helpful if you hit a few shots with your current, equivalent club before you shoot the video and record your numbers. It would be nice to see the comparisons with the clubs you test and the clubs you game. Great videos Crossfield!
Have you done a numbers crunch on the 430cc vs 460cc? I'm about ready to take the SLDR plunge but am leaning towards the 430. I have never been comfortable with the toaster on a stick look of the 460 heads. I hit my tiny little Cleveland Launcher fairway clubs just fine, so I should be able to put the 430 head on the ball. Just wondering if you see any performance difference.
I tested the SLDR the other day and tried their cute little "loft up" thing, and it didn't work for me at all. The fitter had it set up at 10* loft and a 77 gram X shaft. Spun waaaaaaaaaaaay too much. More than my current driver. He decreased the loft to 8.5 (my current loft) and it was a good shot. Bit better than my current driver, but I'm guessing that was just the shaft. Loft up is a good concept, but not for me.
I like TM, despite the constant releases of clubs. I like the grey and I also like the white SLDR. It feels a bit like TM are just trying to milk money at this stage rather than their stock reasoning that they release when they can bring better tech to the game and thus improve us.
Taylor made said whit the glued version of sldr s they were able to push the cg a little more front And take off more spin then the original great thing ;0)
If you're worried about a shaft, then look into Mark's video library. He and Gorilla James hit a ladies shaft, senior shaft, regular, and stiff, and they all show the same distance. There were very little differences overall. Maybe accuracy from ladies vs. stiff.

Love the video, just bought this driver in12* and for the first time in a year I feel good about taking driver!!.
Thanks again.
I just got the SLDR S because it was $70 cheaper, having swing problems but when I pipe it the ball flight is awesome!

I still use the SLDR S today, slightly draw biased, try to fade every shot, it goes as straight as a bullet, hits fairway every time..

I traded my 913 D3 for this driver in 10 degree, stiff and it's nice to feel confident on the tee again.

g30 is very good

Is it good ?
Nice vid any chance of reviewing some Adams gear? Would love to see you review the Adams xtd driver
It's good it doesn't have the adjustable neck as I've heard clubs to break in that area so that's a plus on this club.
I have not seen any issues with the necks

They have a page for this formula on TogetherSave, that new crowd buying platform.
Best club reviewer on UA-cam!
I agree completely. A great driver!!
If you are going to change clubs, do you think of doing a giveaway of your other SLDR ;)
I think it would be helpful if you hit a few shots with your current, equivalent club before you shoot the video and record your numbers. It would be nice to see the comparisons with the clubs you test and the clubs you game. Great videos Crossfield!
same numbers
I have the three wood and it's a rocket!
Nice video as always Parfield!!
Thanks
What is the black and gray recorder you use to track ball spin, loft, speed..?
What's it called..?

Looking at prices on line difference can be up to £100
I've just seen buzz mans latest course vlog and what you know he's gone and put the SLDR in!
haha they all want to drive the ball like parfied

what was your club delivery numbers?
I think I was hitting down with my driver 1 degree roughly. I always take Gorilla James sized divots
Not divots with my driver. I meant that I take monster divots with my irons. I'm a 3 handicap. Clubhead speed 118, ballspeed 176
If I took monster divots with my driver, I'd need to call an exorcist, not a golf pro.
Been wondering why Buzzman hasn't lofted up yet...You should chant at him when he finally gets one on a course vlog. "ONE OF US, ONE OF US, ONE OF US"
just you wait and see
Keep the vlogs coming!! Love them!
Nice video mark!!

not sure about that
I have used a 9 degree driver but now use a 9.5. Would 10 degree be my loft up?
you should go for a fitting
Mark Crossfield is this driver hard to get up in the air
Standard shaft won't be as good as your tp shaft but they are bringing out a tp version in the sldr s
He is using a standard shaft because its a glued neck, so he cannot change it.
Not worried by the shaft
benjo33682 as i said there is a tp version coming out
Mark Crossfield gonna demo the 12° sldr s #loftup
If you're worried about a shaft, then look into Mark's video library. He and Gorilla James hit a ladies shaft, senior shaft, regular, and stiff, and they all show the same distance. There were very little differences overall. Maybe accuracy from ladies vs. stiff.
Would you recommend this club to a mid handicap
yes, demo it if you can.
I don't get it... I thought the whole idea of SLDR was to loft up. How is 10 degrees lofting it up?
I use 9 in everything else #loftup
What is yours an buzzas swing speeds?
Mark's is around 105mph and Buzza's is around 115mph.
I think Mark has said in another video that he swings between 105-110mph. Buzzman is about 10mph quicker. I think...
loft?
Consistency is exactly what this driver does not offer.
Go with high MOI - Nike, Ping, or Titleist.
