I have a 1985 but it’s gun metal gray. E serial number and long scale. It’s my only bass, and I found it in a pawn shop years ago with a form-fitting hardshell case covered with punk rock era stickers everywhere. I love the sound and feel of it, sadly I’m not very good at bass. I thought my 6 string guitar knowledge would transfer, and it helps but I need to practice a lot more. Great video btw!
Very nice basses for sure. Maybe the difference in sound is due to the difference in scale of both basses ? Hard to ear the difference through internet I think.

I have the 90’s black bass but it’s made in ’85 or ’86 (when I bought it as new)
