I agree also. (And I was only 3 years old when this promo happened -- I never got to see the Bockwinkel/Heenan AWA magic live. Thank heavens for 21st century technology that lets me go back and see my heroes in their glory days!
@@theoelliott4649 They have all drawn from someone else. Look at Hogan , Ventura, and Scott Steiner; ALL of them copied from The Superstar. It would take days to list all of the examples.
Man I wish we had someone like this in professional wrestleing today. Hell I just wish we had professional wrestleing today Bockwinkle was an elite talent. The best heel of all time!
@@rodneyharrington5049 Funny, that's the most demented comment on here, considering I am a ghoul. Saw all of the guys I mentioned on here wrestle well over 100 times and was a big part of my Life growing up so I'll write what I wish. Once again. RIP to all three of them including Vachon.
RIP Nick Bockwinkel, one of the G.O.A.T.S...People talk about Flair, Hogan, Race, Brisco, Backlund, Sammartino, Rhodes, Funk and many other world champs but you have to put Nick Bockwinkel in the higher echelon of those greats.
+John Wilburn 83 does make sense since I believe Mean Gene and Heenan didn't sky up to WWF till 1984! Mean Gene for sure 84 because in January of 84 he was the first interview Hogan had after he won the title from The Iron Sheik!
AWA was so much more interesting and professional. From Mad Dog and his brother Butcher Vachon, Nick, Super Destroyer....Hercules Cortez, of course the Crusher. These guys put on an amazing show so much better than McMahon and the WCW or WWF..whatever.
entity, enamored and carte blanche. in the same interview. nick was awesome.
Great promo from Bockwinkel, his is the best champion/manager combo of all time, IMHO.
I totally agree. Heenan and Bockwinkel were the best.
I JUST said the exact same thing!!!!
I agree also. (And I was only 3 years old when this promo happened -- I never got to see the Bockwinkel/Heenan AWA magic live. Thank heavens for 21st century technology that lets me go back and see my heroes in their glory days!
Nick Bockwinle was the absolute best!!
That's the way you close out a promo right there. Both by Heenan and by Mean Gene
Nick Bockwinkel calling out a babyface for cheating and admitting to cheating...right there is the birth of the Jericho heel character in 2008.
Jericho has ripped off Bockwinkel, CM Punk, HBK, Sting, Etc ... He’s less than original.

He was called Mr. AWA for a reason...
Bockwinkel is probably the greatest over-40 champion ever.
He really didn’t seem as old as he was, really interesting because everyone looked older back then. He was probably almost 50 here right?
I never appreciated Bockwinkel as a kid. Trurly gifted doing promo's. I believe what he says.
RIP all three of them, and Vachon.
Don't be a ghoul. This video is about life, not death. Enjoy that, if you can.

If any wrestler should have been called the brain it should have been Nick the guy talks so intelligent
To tell you the truth, Nick Bockwinkle’s promos by himself were pretty bland but when Bobby started talking that’s when we got gold!
No idea how you can consider this bland, it is better than 98% of all the other promos out there. Like, what do you consider good, then?
@@thehammockdistrict5355 Being calm and measured in your speech is seen now as a weakness.
Gene ended every interview yelling 😂
What year was this from?
The screen says "1983" at the end.
Thanks. I missed it.

RIP Tricky Nick.
Kelski1998 The fact that Nick Bockwinkel was 50 is astonishing
Hahaha
