BTW the soap in this video is so striking. I love the colors. After the beveling and planeing the colors popped. You make it look easy. 🙌

I have watched this several times, and it gets better. I tried it this morning, but made my first mistake by using a homemade rake tool. It was down hill from there. I had to turn the pattern into a freehand swirl (boring). I will try again!

Hey Tara, thanks! I was so happy with how this one turned out - especially with the bold contrasting colors.

Can the colored oils be premixed and stored for later use? I'm thinking it would be pretty darn cool to have common colors mixed up. Even if just primary and secondary colors. Then they could be mixed together to make other colors at the time of making the soap. Beautiful work and only the second video of yours that I've seen. I predict you will end up with thousands of subscribers. Super talented and your videos are easy to watch and easy to follow.

      Also, what is cpop?
After finishing the video, I think my biggest error is the emulsion phase. I seem to have trouble with not overdoing it and then my separated parts for colorants and oils, trace so quickly. :'( Would love to see a video of you explaining this. I know there are others but I'd rather support smaller channels. :)

Thanks for watching! And yes, many soap makers premix their micas with light oils for long term storage - especially when making frequent soap batches. I tend to mix my titanium dioxide in a large batch and keep it stored refrigerated. I prefer to mix my micas fresh every time since I'm always experimenting with designs and color palettes.

Thank you! Also, where did you buy that beveler/peeler tool? Haven’t seen one like that.

@@laurieparker7038 I've tried quite a few bevelers out there and found this one on Amazon (amzn.to/3dhXzWl) - it's the one I always use now - it cuts evenly and doesn't remove too much of the soap :)
