Things I learned about myself from this segment of Piers Morgan Uncensored: - When I look at the "pomp and pageantry" of Britain's royal ceremonies I don't feel a shred of embarrassment for how ridiculous they are - I am only interested in traveling to countries with an active monarchy, no others are historically interesting in the slightest - The people I want to rule my country are the ones that get the most eyeballs on TV
"They show Britain at it's best, the pomp, majestry, military precision" . . . wouldn't using the $100+ million/year to systematically ENDING homelessness show that better? It would be an absolute global marvel and would make Britain look better than the Monarchy ever has or will
I actually think it might be very very difficult to end homelessness with money. Like what's the approach here, buy every homeless person a house? Building more homeless shelters doesn't *end* homelessness, it more sounds like it makes being homeless slightly less miserable. Then again, I don't know much about the topic, but I would be interested in hearing how you would approach the problem.
@@bazzel1059 it would obviously be very difficult to end homelessness as a phenomenon… I think some things that could be done are: boost medical resources directed at the homeless, like psychological support and spots in rehab centers, since many people end up in the streets due to addiction or mental illnesses. Give them a clean, functional place to stay so they can shower etc and be presentable when they try to get jobs etc Create work opportunities specifically for the homeless, maybe through agreements with existing establishments (like, idk, mcdonalds etc)
@@bazzel1059 Ending homelessness is about treating mental illness, in many cases. In some others, it is about creating non-market housing, something England used to be good at. Removing the political and police corruption that enables the drug trade might help too, but it's clear that the majority of people don't use the drugs. So the base effort is in treating the depression and desperation that leads to the substance addiction. Treating mental illness would necessitate employing counsellors, which would necessitate incentivizing more people to get into that trade. So now we're talking about reducing the price of education, possibly paying counsellors more. Or we could could all just shrug and say "ah it'll never happen," and give the monarchy a hundred million pounds a year to wave at ceremonies and to talk to the tv veery Christmas. Because apparently William has a campaign against homelessness, and the only way that problem will ever be addressed is if we get a public figure to make speeches. I recall when Nancy Reagan told the kids to "Just say no" and the drug problem in America just disappeared.
@@bazzel1059I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, but Britain already near did "defeat" homelessness during the 1915-1950s. By removing the private ability for landlords to own homes that were rented to others and instead building public housing to a very high standard to rent for low costs gave absolutely almost everyone a home they could comfortably afford. A great many other policies went into it, of course, but most certainly an abundance of housing was a huge part of it. Moreover, the reason this ended up failing was Thatcher and the morbid greed of those voted into power due to the outright cowardly tactics of the conservative party at the time and now. People forgot why they had a home in the first place, and voted against their own interests.
I'm from Belgium and like many other European countries we also have a Royal family and I have to say the amount of pomps and pageantry the British display is absolutely outrageous and the amount of reverence people like Piers Morgan have for said Royal Family is completely off putting.
Whats off putting about pomps and the monarchy? Have you lost all heart and soul and can no longer have some admiration and appreciation for something other than your own stuff? Just like you don't understand how someone can like the monarchy, I don't understand why people like you are so against it. The case for the monarchy in the 21st century is that its part of our history, its tradition, and its something we can get around and appreciate, something that glues us together. If you want to be without history, and live in shame about your history and your ancestors, go ahead. But don't force those miserable values onto others.
It's all bluff and bluster. I'm English and regard the royal family idea as a joke. TBH a lot of nationalist conceits are ridiculous. They give people things to hang on to. Many bad but there are some good elements too. Helps ppl forge their sense of identity. The fact that Piers thinks that when foreigners look at the coronation they are looking at "UK at its best" is absolutely mental. Things I learned about myself from this segment of Piers Morgan Uncensored:
- When I look at the "pomp and pageantry" of Britain's royal ceremonies I don't feel a shred of embarrassment for how ridiculous they are
- I am only interested in traveling to countries with an active monarchy, no others are historically interesting in the slightest
- The people I want to rule my country are the ones that get the most eyeballs on TV
Piers Morgan's inability to shut his mouth for longer than five seconds never fails to amaze me.
I think his way of holding conversation with his guests will eventually backfire on him.
@@bazzel1059 it would obviously be very difficult to end homelessness as a phenomenon…
I think some things that could be done are: boost medical resources directed at the homeless, like psychological support and spots in rehab centers, since many people end up in the streets due to addiction or mental illnesses.
Give them a clean, functional place to stay so they can shower etc and be presentable when they try to get jobs etc
Create work opportunities specifically for the homeless, maybe through agreements with existing establishments (like, idk, mcdonalds etc)
Yeah, if a country ended homelessness that would be one of the most respected countries in the world.

He said the UKs biggest TV audiences globally are for royal events which speaks for itself. Not only fools or FA cup final or Wimbledon final or peaky blinders the biggest draw is always for a royal event the viewing figures are public go and check for yourself.
@@marshjj3788okay, but hear us out. Take away all political power and tax them like everyone else, and you can still have the ceremonies
@@marshjj3788 Exactly, also Windsor castle attracts 3 times more than chesire zoo
@@daviddeida Yes and let's be honest nobody outside England is aware of Cheshire zoo, most people know Windsor castle, tower of London, Buckingham palace as world famous sights for tourists.
ad hoc i think right?
The thing Piers massively overlooks is that the bulk of Royalist sot within a certain age group. Younger more Liberal people do not fall into that category. It's exactly what's happening with all issues in society. Younger people are becoming more Liberal and want change. The older generation are struggling to hold on to what they say are their values. Time will oust the Royals. Simply time
I loved your retort on how, Pier's literally is the person who bangs on about the monarcy. How can he not understand that if you give someone 10's of millions of pounds a year and they "do charity work with there time" that you could just fund the charity?
Alex saying "God save him cuz noone is going to" made my day😂😂
I would argue that Buckingham Palace may bring in more money if we abolished the Monarchy. Think about it, you could go to all the rooms, there would be a lot more to see. Versailles gets 15 million visitors a year and it isn't even in central Paris. From personal experience, I lived in London for years, am interested in history, and not once did I visit Buckingham Palace.
Same and I agree
France proved you right Andrew, they don't have a monarchy anymore yet they have far higher rates of tourism than the UK AND people are less restricted when it comes to entering Frances palaces.
Maybe I am extremely rested as I just woke up but I have noticed that Morgan brought you guys on to watch him enjoy the sound of his voice.
"I'll bet you a tenner"
Bloody legend, Alex. What a champ.
Piers mic is so obviously louder than Alex and Graham’s lmao
It's so petty 🤣
Bill O'Reilly used to do that.
his voice is certainly clearer and easier to hear
Gotta admire the physical condition Piers Morgan has. It must be exhausting to run and jump around while carrying the goalpost all the time
ha ha. Piers is someone that you love when he's talking on a topic you agree with.
You can’t be proven wrong when you don’t let people talk.
Is Piers Morgan incapable of letting someone complete their answer before interrupting?!
yes - but only when not doing so runs in his favour
because Morgan Cannot debate even Tommy robison say that. Morgan loves spouting his nonsense. Morgan did not even turn up to Prince Harry hacking trial and Morgan was lambasted by the judge shows you what a hypocrite he is
'You have until you hear this buzzer to convince me...'
'CONSTANTLY interrupts and doesn't let them get a word in edgeways.'
That's Piers in a nutshell. I'm surprised you bothered going back after the last time Alex to be honest.
"It's not magic, it's corruption". Ooooof! Great line. Unfortunately, people want to hold on to the nostalgia of the warmth they felt when they were kids reading fairytales. And I'm honestly not sure how you break through that. Fairytales have a lot to answer for when it comes to this issue!
Alex has infinite patience 😂
You can see him staying calm even though piers keeps interrupting
I only started watching some of his stuff recently. Probably how I came across this clip because Piers makes my skin crawl.
Piers Morgan thinks he’s an eminent thinker.😂 OMFG, that’s SO precious.🥰
Lol says the one with evolution in the name
@@davidevans3223 What does that have to do with the price of cheese?
Well in this he's right would our culture be richer without the royal family it's no Charles and Camilla was never going to be popular most just about tolerate them but kate and William are very popular and as for visitors millions watch them on tv they do spend alot of time travelling to open event's etc that means alot to the people involved if you compare the costs to just about any other area of government spending you'd see how little it is it's not even a pound because the rick 3 percent pay about 30 percent of all tax
@@davidevans3223moving on from a feudalism IS EVOLUTION ya fool!
@@iainherridge6253 lol says who really change for the sake of change isn't good thats the problem with the world right now we have equality but we are not all equal so they want to destroy society insane
“God save him… because no one else will” what a great statement
Its brutal
Piers is deadset on making sure Alex cannot speak a single sentence uninterrupted
