  • **Please note, I no longer use and cannot recommend Dixie Belle Paint products due to highly questionable business practices, contract violations, and unethical treatment of artists and retailers that led to mine and numerous others resignations in late 2021. Please see the links below for more information. I have chosen to leave this video content up for learning purposes only, but highly recommend considering other products when trying to achieve these same techniques. There are too many good product brands on the market to support a brand with these practices. I've included links to my most used options below

I learn so much from your tutorials Brandy. I'm 73 and this is my new hobby! Painting is so peaceful and simply makes the world go away for a few hours.

@@carolynoconnor8567 Hi Carolyn! You will be addicted to painting! I like painting furniture that's old. It just gives me pleasure. I buy my furniture at yard sales. I don't pay very much for them because it's really just a nice hobby that keeps me busy. Glad to know I'm not the only one in our generation loving this. Good luck and have fun! Blessings Jill

Enjoyed your tutorial. Having difficulty finding the completed urn, interested to see the finished product. I have a white fiberglass wedding pedestal I rescued from the dump and will top with a cheap plastic urn. Trying to decide how to finish the two for the garden.

Hi Brandy, I really need your advice. I used gator hide to seal my rust paint patina. Since the piece will gets lots of use I used 4-5 coats of gator hide, letting it dry in between each coat. It was fine until the last coat. When it dried it turned cloudy/milky in several areas. Can you please tell me what I may have done wrong so I don't ruin another piece? Thank you so much

I've had good luck misting and wiping with water before sealing to neutralize the reaction with patina

Is this less expensive than Modern Masters? Actually I could look it up. But Modern Masters were the first company to offer the rust and patina look I think.
