- Here’s an easy explanation of the light on your Original MEATER or MEATER Plus so you’re not panicking like when you’re driving in another country.
Original MEATER
Solid green = AAA battery is 👍
Solid red = AAA battery is 👎
No light = AAA battery is 👎
MEATER Plus
Solid green = AAA battery is 👍
Blinking green = the probe is connected to the charger
Solid red = AAA battery is 👎
Blinking red = the probe is connecting to or not connected to the charger
No light = AAA battery is 👎

That’s exactly what my probe needed! The tip on the thick side of the probe was black/charred and it would not connect at all. I checked the batteries and nothing until I cleaned it back to chrome color that it was originally and problem solved! I didn’t even remember the original color or noticed that it was dirty until I saw this video
It would be logical to add some sort of probe charge level on this button. Blinks for each 25% of charge or something. The biggest issue with the meater - I have no idea if it charges or not. Yes, I can take probe out, open the app and check it there, if it charged and connects. If it's not charged, I will have to guess if it's discharged or if connection is kaput, if the whole probe is kaput or I don't know what else.
Please, add this.
It’s ridiculous that there is no way to see the state of charge on the probe itself.

I would like to see a video discussing some ways to overcome the faraday cage effect, which can block the signal of the meater probe from getting to the base

And when none of these suggestions work and it just keeps blinking red after hours of charging and not connecting with a new battery... then what???

It’s nothing what he’s saying the battery indicator does not operate correctly, change the triple a battery and let charge for fifteen min, I had the same issue and it fixed it.

I had this issue as well. I noticed the base of my Meater had a little black residue on it so I took a kitchen sponge with the rough side and washed it clean until shiny. Put it back in the base and now it’s charging…..no more flashing red light. I guess even just a little residue creates a contact block. I can say this is what worked for me, if you’re still having issues then I’m out of suggestions. Sorry, hope this helps you.
Have a single probe and it drops connection constantly. I have to be with in 5 feet of the smoker for it to work. I have no problems with any other Bluetooth devices. not impressed

Hi, I used my probe before. It used to work normally. However, now the green light never comes on, even with a new battery. What could be the reason?

How can I see if the Probe is charged? There is no way if I'm not connected? But am I not connected due to a connection issue or a not loaded probe?
Please open the MEATER app and tap on the ellipsis on the top right corner. Tap on "My connections" and select your device. You can check the battery life of the charging base and/or probe!
My probe seems fully charged from the image of the battery in the app (it was charging for many many hours) and the led will flash green ok when it's out of the dock. But the dock will flash red continually when the probe is in the dock. Is this right? I haven't seen anyone else mention this. Its brand new.

these things are garbage, work about half the time, ruined over 100 $ worth of steaks for me , trash can .
