I believe the master detective that has "the body of a child but the mind of an adult" is a Detective Conan reference.
Shinigami is a reference machine especially for Dragon Quest and detective stuff so definitely.

@@TheRezro Cult of the Lamb is too recent and niche. If anything Shinigami has probably had a design since before 2020 since 1. it takes a long time to finish the production of videogames, and 2. because Raincode has been in development since before the pandemic.
Episode 0 has prove me again why Kodaka is capable to pull the most intense plot-twist in any form possible, as all the Master Detectives in Episode 0 were shown in the Characters trailer and they seem to be active through the story... and then this happens.
Tell me about it. I'm still shocked by this. All these characters in the trailers and then BAM! All dead in the first Episode. What a shocking yet exciting start to the game.

I'm really surprised how long ep 0 is.
It's definitely a fantastic start to this game.
Imagine Komatsuzaki being ordered to design the four Master Detectives without knowing the plot. Then Kodaka says "I gotcu bro" and Komatsuzaki be like "Bruh...."
Best way to trick us too since each of those characters look like they would be your longtime companions

You know, at some point you'd think I would fall for any of Kodaka's tricks when it comes characters' life expectancy after V3: but here I am still being played for a sucker 😢
Never trust trailers or the first chapter you play. Or Demos, especially Demos. Those are Kodaka’s main sources of shock values. I already guessed everyone in the first chapter would die since they were too prominent in the promotion. I just thought one more would die because I saw them in the trailers as well.

Holy shit this game got really wild really fast lol. I didn't expect them to completely reimagine the class trials. Also that playable loop is literally just a loading screen 🤣 I hope this game comes to PC at some point.

It’s Kodaka. The character that seems to get the most prominence in promotional material are always the first to die
After Danganronpa v3 you really can't expect them to not mislead the hell out of people in their marketing
They caught me really good. I didn't expect them to kill five Master Detectives in Chapter 0. CHAPTER 0 LIKE WHAT😓

Considering the companion there's the possibility they aren't gone from the game. Just the normal world.
I was expecting at least one person to die this chapter, but not everyone at once. Such a huge curveball compared to Danganronpa.

Like, just a ghost Junko without all the despair stuff making her evil, and no longer being depressingly bored?
She literally died and became a god of death because she wrecked the whole world.
It just fits way too well with her personality and she just looks way too much like her.
This is honestly just gonna be my head canon for this series until proven otherwise.
Thats the way i saw it too, junko became a god and instead of being obsessed with despair now its mysteries instead, meanwhile you got keebo doing his best shuichi impression
Its Junko but somehow they made her even hornier now that she isn't horny specifically for despair.
It does feels like that, and also although theres not much despair going on anymore, every now and then Shinigami says something foul that implies she's absolutely insane.

My guess is that the Medium Lady was already using her ability,so the one we saw wasn't her actual body and when she died she just went back to her original body.

Chapter 0 has been crazy! Wasn't expecting so much death early on. Such a great start to this game that is "Master Detective Archives: Rain Code"
The transformation, well though I knew it would be coming, I must say it still caught me a little bit off guard. As for the jiggle physics, can't say I'm surprised.
One of the things Kodaka has going for him is character interactions, and Yuma and Shinigami definitely made me laugh. But that recap stuff was tedious though, I don't remember DR THH being that padded out.
thh kinda got redundant with trial 4 on making Kirigiri take so long to say that two bottles were used in the case when it was obvious from the start. Just wanted us to have a mini chess puzzle.
Honestly I'm glad they recap stuff like that because sometimes streamers and UA-camrs are just ridiculous the way they don't listen, skip text because they think they know more than the game, miss things because they decided to look at chat during a cutscene or because they have the memory of a goldfish. All of Which I have seen far too many times lol. I think those people very much need the recaps.
@@joshblackwell8632 I disagree. Games shouldn't be designed for UA-camrs and streamers. It would be completely fine if they just put the details in a menu that we can read whenever, like how Ace Attorney did it. Remembering obscure details to break the case is part of the experience.
@@hoangkienvu7572 I was using them as a example because of the streamers & youtubers terrible/weird habits. I never said it was designed for them. Naturally Its also good for normal People with bad memory as well as people who leave the game just to comeback at a random point.
Of course im completely fine with the way danganronpa does things.
So honestly we are gonna have to agree to disagree about this.
@@hoangkienvu7572mistery games in handheld consoles are repetitive because people ususally pick the game for a couple minutes (like a bus travel) and leave it when they need to. They need the game to be repetitive or they wouldn't be able to follow. This games are not designed to be played for a couple hour in a sitting (althought some people do)

Here's what I'm thinking. I have a hunch that Aphex (If that was really Aphex) was the first one to die because he had a stab wound in his chest, probably from the knife that stab Zilch, also in the chest, in the infirmary, but why did Aphex's body appeared in the 5th car if it was inaccessible? and only Aphex and Zilch have been stabbed with a knife?
It’s also clear that there was a fight involved: Aphex woke up from the hospital bed and opened the door while wounded, only to succumb to his injuries outside.
This game looks so interesting.
Now I understand the title of this episode. But so glad you are playing this regardless! Been enjoying this so far!

When I first preordered this game, I didn’t really keep up with it. Now that the game is out and I have to wait 3 weeks to play it (thanks Amazon 😡), I’m itching to get my hands on it. I’m glad you are doing a play through because the game looks super interesting.

Not sure if Shinigami is an ally but she's entertaining.
If I had to guess I would say Yuma is 13-18 years old.
I feel like Shinigami's comments about a Master Detective who looks like a 'child but is actually an adult' is foreshadowing a character who shows up later.
Yuma's outfit in the Mystery Labyrinth is cool.
Maybe the spy was discovered by one of the detectives and things escalated, leading to everyone dying.
It's possible that the image of the old man's cell phone showed the identity of the real killer.
I wonder if they'll explain how droplets of water can write a program

first of all rip pucchi and yuma ever being together and second I'm pretty sure yuma is like 20 cause like why would you traumatize a child that like why and third, this is kinda of a hard mystery to figure it out despite it being chapter 0
Well "hard" as in the plan was elaborate but the gameplay itself pretty railroady so its not too hard to come to the conclusion. I think it makes great ep 0 where I actually didn't know how it even happened until toward the end. So it wasn't like a super dumb down intro where you knew the answer like at the start but it wasn't like super frustrating to play either.
Any person who's had experience with mystery novels or games, will not have too much trouble with this game. Spikechunsoft aren't known for Extreme Difficulty.
