hogyouku = immortality there's no way to kill aizen at this point they just needed the Kido to get implanted into aizen (for maybe a future chance at sealing him if he ever is weakened)
There's timing for a combat, they were increasing strenght but Aizen doubled his capabilities with each transformation, all of them being triggered by the damage inflicted by thoes three. So more damage, the hogyoku gave him more power, as simple as that, they had other plans.
Side note engetsu's bankai cannot be activated if Issin's body is injured or it will distroy him

A couple, cuz the hogyoku was the sole reason they couldn't go thunder cat and bankai on him. The hogyoku would've given him equal reiatsu to match up
