- When I was about 8 years old I remember there was a pharmacy up at the end of my street, only about 2 blocks from my house. They had a soda fountain with various bottles of syrup that you would put into a soda fountain drink. One of the syrups was called “Green River” and I looked at the bottle on the other side of the counter one day and said that’s important… I’m gonna remember that!
54 years ago today the album ‘Green River’ was released and features some of my favorite songs I’ve written: “Green River” the title track, “Bad Moon Rising”, “Lodi”, and “Wrote A Song For Everyone” to name a few. Now after all this time these songs are back home and it’s been amazing celebrating that accomplishment on this tour. Thank you to all the fans who have came out and sang these songs with me… this record is for you!

Amen. The sun was yellow, sky bluer, jeans fit just right, girls were prettier, cars tougher, nights longer and time was slower.
@@kissthesky40that "girls were prettier" really hit the nail on the head. There used to be so many good looking girls around where I grew up in Northern Kentucky, but these days so many of them are all jacked up on meth or heroin, it's becoming increasingly more and more rare to see women who have all their teeth, and I don't mean the ones they can pull out of their mouth should the occasion arise... I keep hoping that one of the next generations of young people finally put a stop to this stuff and we can get back to being human beings again, right now my hope is on the very latest generation, that would be Generation Alpha, I guess we've started that clock all over.??.
I hope this next generation really can put an end to this drug epidemic we have in this country, you'd think sooner or later the kids would rebel against what their parents are doing to the point that it actually makes a difference, but year after year, generation after generation, they keep letting me down, and I see younger and younger faces pop up on the local jail tracker, I see like the great grand children of the people I grew up with, getting arrested for drug possession, and I ain't talking about a little weed, I'm talking about full blown fentanyl addicts, kinda sad to see the way things went around here, and so many other states in the USA.

I was nine years old when this was released and I swear for the longest time I thought this must have been a greatest hits album. Looking back, there are likely 3 or 4 CCR albums that play like greatest hit compilations.

Every album they made when they were together were all #1 to me, the songs would make me get up and want to dance. Hard to believe they never had a #1 hit song. Well CCR is one of the greatest band ever. Every song on every album is as good as it gets,glad you got your music back, it's been too long. Long live CCR.🇺🇸🦅🪶

Got to catch Fogerty and John Mellencamp at River bend years ago, fantastic show. John Fogerty started out doing the intro to Metallicas Kill em all..!! What was crazy is I had two tickets, mom won them on a radio contest, I couldn't get anyone to go with me..!! Tried to get my Dad to go, he wasn't up for it, tho I know he loves CCR , couldn't talk my little brother into going, asked my best friend at the time if he'd like to go and he said no, at first, but just as I was about to leave and go myself, my buddy called me back and said hell yeah I'll go .!! Man we had a blast that night..!! Sat on the grass, had a great view of the bands, speakers were definitely plenty loud enough to hear all the great tunes.... Fogerty pretty much stuck to playing all the old CCR hits, and Mellencamp did the same thing, but both did play a few of their newest tunes at the time, which have since become classics as well, but nothing takes me back to my childhood days, riding around with pops, listening to some CCR ...!!.

I love all your music , you're an hello of an artist and awesome performer, I grew up on your music it hits home as always...got to love it, "HELLTOTHAYEAH"
I walk 5 miles one way in 105+ heat just to find flat rocks and I skip at least 15 skips when the water is still, brings me back to where Apple Pie and Chevrolet was cool. Rolling your pack of cigarettes up in my white t-shirt was cool. My gal get out at the local burger house , in her short skirt Bobbi socks an low quarter shoes. Go in have good game pool or play Pac-Man , pinball , paddleball, that's when times were good .now be lucky to even find my gal, too busy hiding out doing things not even suppose to be doing...
Now days nobody wants to help anyone unless they get paid to do so.. if they can shine , get paid , fringe benefits , sit at home bragging on all the new furniture , flat screen TV, new trucks, additions on their homes, free tree service to make mockery and say how they had to spend a few thousand dollars get things done knowing it wasn't their money to start with.
CCR.what a blast listened to yallall my life never get tired of hearing Bad moon rising. Lodi, can't beat it got loveit..
