    Out of everything in this video the one real heart stopping moment for me is seeing Michael and that big yellow recovery vehicle. To see him so many times bite it yet make it out ok, then when he is enjoying life skiing with his family to have such bad luck breaks my heart!😢 praying for Michael and his family. ❤

      to true,the teams spend millons on the cars to win while trying to make them as safe as possible then on a whim the fia change the rules .what othere sport where the drivers risk their lives will potentially increase the risk.it is more like farcical 1

    • @messystudios8505
      @messystudios8505 9 місяців тому +2

      @@Joseph2302 That makes a slight amount more sense as the tyres were designed to last the entire race (And could go the entire race with the exception of indianapolis) And correct me if i was wrong but you were still allowed to change tyres , you were just penalised for it.
      But the wet tyre rule forced Drivers to use a tyre in conditions it wasnt designed for. It would be like removing inters and wet tyres from the teams without making any changed to the dry tyres.
      The no tyre change rule is still stupid tho coz it takes alot of fun out of the races and obviously it caused the whole indianapolis fiasco.

    • @BatMouse-1989
      @BatMouse-1989 9 місяців тому +3

      The 1994 rules changes were also stupid. They thought was a good idea to ban all electronic "driver aids", such as: Active suspension, Anti-lock brakes, Traction control and Launch control. Pilots and cars were not prepared for those changes. 2 pilots died and some others got injured that year.

  • @Steve_Gee74

    Check out the 1998 Belgium grand prix geld at Spa Francorchamps. That was absolute carnage which left 13 severely damaged cars. An hour long delay while the track was cleared allowed teams to setup the 3rd spare cars that teams had back then for drivers, unfortunately 4 drivers still couldnt start as they were in teams that had both cars severely damaged so spare car went to the lead driver. Te whole weekend was during a torrential downpour. The estimated cost of parts wrecked back then was $13 Million which in todays money is $24.8 Million.

    • @reptongeek
      @reptongeek 7 місяців тому +1

      And that was just the pile up at the start. Mika Salo had already crashed in practice and then there are all the accidents when the race eventually got going. The only team who suffered no damage from that weekend ironically was Jordan the team that won the race

    Interlagos corners/sectors as shown at 0:14 are loosely translated as:
    1"S" do Senna = (Ayrton) Senna's Esse
    2 Curva do Sol = Sun Corner (Turn 3 on vídeo)
    3 Reta Oposta = Opposite Straight
    4 Descida do Lago = Lake's descent
    5 Ferradura = Horseshoe
    6 Laranjina = (Little) Orange
    7 Esses = Esses
    8 Pinheirinho = (Small) Pine Tree
    9 Bico do Pato = Duck Bill
    10 Mergulho (da junção) = Junction Dive
    11 Junção = Junction
    12 Subida dos Boxes = Boxes Climb
    13 Curva do Café = Coffee Corner
    14 Arquibancadas = Grandstands
    15 Reta dos Boxes = Boxes Straight
    3:10 "First Corner" is the "Senna's Esse"
    3:32 "Turn 3" is actually the "Sun Corner"
    7:37 "Turn 4" is the "Lake's Descent"
    9:53 "Arquibancadas Corner" is actually "Coffee Corner"

And the thing was, I noticed that Fisichella passed through the debris of Webber's accident to start the extra lap just before Alonso came flying into shot to hit the tyre and bring the red flag. Had the result stood with Kimi winning, he'd have had 4 more points - enough to have won the WDC that year (assuming all other results went the same way).

      He would've had 2 more, 2nd was worth 8 points that season.

    Alonso accident looked like a fatal indycar crash...
    Seriously I forgot this race but men this race was a miracle no one died. It was irresponsible. Just lije Spa 98 or F2 Spa 2019. Or the other Spa fatality of the Dutch driver.

    This wasn't the "scariest" F1 race at all, especially confronting it with Imola 1994 or with Nurburbring 1976, just to name a few. It might be the scariest for the short memory ones.

      I think Imola 1994 was the scariest ever.
      Barrichello almost died on Friday (medics said to him that he died for a few minutes and got reanimated).
      Than Ratzenberger died on Saturday.
      It was noticeable how scared pilots were before the race. That race should never happened. But sadly it did and Senna died on Sunday.

      @heitorlgf Exactly, and without mentioning other accidents occurred during the race, as the crash at the start, or the injuries of the mechanics during the pit stop. These events alone were worthy mentioning for any other race, but this time they were considered "nothing" in context of all other tragedies happened during the weekend. Imola was the true scariest race of modem times.

    "Scariest race in F1 history" kindly, sod off.
    They were racing in the 1950s, 60s and 70s in manual cars without electronic aids or cockpit protection. Drivers dying was a regular occurrence.

    F1 is so much better these days. Compliance regulations, quieter engines, more track limits counting, no miniskirts on the starting grid. Way better.
