I agree, I actually extend the list. 2003 to the halfway point of 2013 minus 2004 and 2011. This was the best time for F1, that's 2 1/2 boring seasons out of 11. and to counter the "rose coloured glasses" effect, I've watched F1 since 1981 and was already over 30 in 2003.

There's a thing in F1 where a villain can become an underdog hero after a few bad seasons or a comeback. Former villian, Michael Schumacher was in his last season of his comeback in 2012 and in full underdog mode, we all wished he could have won a race...Seb, 2 times champion, about to be 3 times, was in villian mode, 2013 was full villian mode ( I was still a fan, but had to defend myself) by 2020 he was in full underdog hero mode and now we all miss him...Alonso was starting to hit underdog mode, getting so close to that 3rd championship for the 3rd time...he was the villain of 2007, he's an absolute underdog hero right now in 2023, at 42, 3rd in the championship, getting podiums after a dry spell at McLaren and a break from f1 where he tried Indy a couple times and won LeMans twice...
and now aston have completely fked him up with barely any developments over the season. And Lawrence Stroll wants a knighthood for turning Aston around🤣
For me Alonso is forever the villain. It's hard to believe that his appearance in crash gate, spy gate and even the Piastri controversy were mere coincidences, especially when you see him still in this season securing Q3 participation twice by using the run off area or making a completely silly spin causing yellows on the hot lapping cars that would clearly push him out. Both were way too obvious and just plain rotten if you ask me. Remember that his only championships came from the team with illegal software aids and the deported team principal.

Agree it was a great season, it's a good snappy summary video with focus on front-running driver and team performances; some more context I would sprinkle in: -2011 was a season of RB/Vettel dominance after years of interesting championships, so 2012 being great was extra sweet for fans in general. The banning of the coanda-effect exhaust-blown diffusers was a significant reason RB/Vettel fell back into the field. -It was Pirelli's second year in the sport and, told to bring in the multi-pitstop madness of Canada 2010 into the sport, they really went extreme on tires that had teams and drivers struggling to understand them, which really came to its peak in that magnificent Maldonado win in Spain. Was an exciting david/goliath race (that goliath won, but still). -The Mercedes China victory came after over a year of the Merc having pole-setting pace, but destroying its rear tires and tumbling down the order in rather shocking fashion, and the fact that their tires held on for a change was surprising to watch, with major implications for F1. (tho China was a front-limited circuit so they needed to keep improving, but they did obvs) I'd suggest reducing the amount of big bold words flying at the viewer with accentuated voiceover, those were my least favorite portions. but thanks for putting in the effort, great work overall, and for covering a modern classic of a season
