    You asked for suggestions. These prints you created with your photography are amazing and unique. I think you should find a venue to display them for sale. Like a local gallery or restaurant. Any place you can get them seen. Honestly they are as good as the artwork I used to see when I worked in art and wine festivals, throughout California. Good Luck ♥

      You are so sweet! I used to sell my photo prints when I began my journey at coffee shops, flea markets and small galleries. It was a fun experience! As far as the mixed media pieces go, I used to sell them at Crafted in San Pedro, and though I enjoyed the interaction very much, every time a piece was sold, I had a hard time seeing it go. I know I should be happy having others enjoy my art, but it was difficult for me, I don't know why. But maybe, I will look into selling prints or embellished prints instead of the original. It's definitely something to think about. Thank you Maui 🥰

    This was great - I really enjoyed listening, and learned a lot. I just started gel printing a couple months ago, and every time, i end up covered with paint, lol. you're printing with a very nice jumper on and i would just destroy it if i tried that. i guess that's something else that a lot of experience helps with!! luckily, i don't mind getting too messy if i can wash it off

    You asked for suggestions: I transfer inkjet (yes! Inkjet and not laser!) prints to my gelli plate. I print out my own images (I am a photographer) and I straight away put them face down, without (!) any paint or medium onto the gelli plate. Next step is to moisten the back with a bit of water. I let that sit for a couple of minutes and then take the print of the gelli plate. I let it dry and then transfer it with either medium or paint onto whatever (paper, canvas…). I use a Canon pixma inkjet printer

    • @NitsaCreativeStudio
      @NitsaCreativeStudio  9 місяців тому +2

      That's a cool process! You're actually transferring the ink itself, so it's a good idea to seal the final print with spray or varnish since the ink is not permanent or moisture resistant. And btw, you don't really need the gel plate for this process since you're transferring "medium" is the water, you can transfer directly onto your paper instead of making the extra gel plate step. Check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/ssSkr8E8Emw/v-deo.html where I show how to do this transfer technique, it's going to be the 3rd process I show in that video👍and thank you so much for sharing 🥰

    • @stefaniekappel
      @stefaniekappel 9 місяців тому

      @NitsaCreativeStudio yes understood but using the gelli plate allows you to add a background and manipulate the final image. Also, why going through the whole process of transferring a laser print first to the gelli plate and then to the final image if you can transfer the image directly? I watched your other video that you linked. Great ideas! Thanks for the tip regarding the sealing

    • @NitsaCreativeStudio
      @NitsaCreativeStudio  9 місяців тому +3

      Good question. The reason it's great to use a gel plate to transfer laser photos is that we are not transferring the actual ink (toner) like we do when we are doing direct to paper transfer. We are actually just making an impression of the image in the paint, and basically transferring the paint but not the toner. I hope this makes sense.
      Anyway, I like your explanation why you like to use the gel plate for inkjet transfer👍

    Love watching your videos. I hope start doing but haven’t even started purchasing supplies though I do have a wide selection stamping supplies such as inks, rubber stamps, magazines , cardstock, watercolor paper and a brayer... my printer is an "ink jet" will it work?

    • @NitsaCreativeStudio
      @NitsaCreativeStudio  9 місяців тому +1

      Sounds like you have most of the supplies but the gel plate 😀 For this particular process you need a laser printer, a toner-based photocopy or magazine images. I have other process on my channel that work with inkjet printers so you might want to check these out before purchasing a gel plate👍 Thank you for your comment, Judith 💕

    Great video once again! Thanks. Are there any laser printers that should be avoided? I am thinking of buying one, but I have read that not all toners are suitable for image transfers. Any advice on what to look out for when buying a laser printer? I have read your blog and the way it sounds, any laser printer would do?

    • @NitsaCreativeStudio
      @NitsaCreativeStudio  9 місяців тому

      you're right I do think any laser printer will do, though obviously I can't try all of them out there in order to know for sure. I have 3 of them at home, all working great, and a few of my students let me know that their printers work also. I would make sure to buy a printer that I can get the off-brand toner for. Thank you Stefanie for your comment 💕🌷

    I made one of your homemade gel plates with gelatin. I had a trouble with it melting in my craft room. Do you store these? Any specific way to keep this from happening?

    • @NitsaCreativeStudio
      @NitsaCreativeStudio  9 місяців тому +1

      Hi Dawn, not sure what caused the plate to "melt", maybe there was not enough gelatin? I store my plates in a wooden box with printer papers on each side and in between the plates. I hope this helps 🌷

    I believe it's not the ink that's being transferred. It's a thin outer layer on the paper. At least when you use gel.

    • @NitsaCreativeStudio
      @NitsaCreativeStudio  9 місяців тому +1

      You're right, it's definitely not the ink that is being transferred but rather an impression of the image in the paint. So yes, it's different than other image transfer processes.

    could see doing these books to sell... take pics of a particular area like known landmarks and then gel print them and bind them... hand binding would be time consuming etc and might make the price too high, but We r makers has a thermal binding machine now that could cut the binding time and the cost over time (would have to sell enough to cover the cost of the machine. Could also do what they call a perfect binding where you clamp the edges of the paper tight and glue them (its similar to how some magazines are done)

    • @NitsaCreativeStudio
      @NitsaCreativeStudio  9 місяців тому +1

      Hi Jenny, not a bad idea! l will have to look We R makers up and see how it works. Does the perfect binding work with heavyweight papers, like watercolor papers? Thank you so much for these wonderful ideas! 🥰🌷

    • @battygirlrachel
      @battygirlrachel 9 місяців тому

      @@NitsaCreativeStudio the perfect binding should work with any paper that can be glued, though you may want to use more glue on the thicker papers.
