E60 BMW 535XI Get A Single Turbo | Part 01 of 03

This video series will go over the process of retrofitting a E90/E92 335i n54 ON 3 single turbo kit to work on a e60 535xi. The typical things for a single turbo install applies for this application also, but there are a few caveats to keep in mind. This is all a proof of concept, and I wouldn't recommend going through this process, since its untested. Give it some real world driving and can give more insight. But all in all was a great experience since it was a simple unbolt and bolt on new part project.

Since 2008 there has been single turbo kits for N54.. I have been doing single kits on N54 myself for 10 years

@@IMFLGUY76 cool story but I clearly stated for an e60 with that n54. E60s have an ac line and the brake abs box in that same area which get in the way.

​@milehighboost5521 not sure what u mean. Looks like you made good use of the space you have. What I meant was you insinuated that a single T-kit on a 535Xi is a newer thing. The 335 is the more common N54 chassis, but the e60 has had single turbos for a long time. We would make new brake lines and relocate the abs. Once that's done it's much easier. That's what I meant by my statement.

Ohh sweet nice. Did you remove stock downpipes or aftermarket catless dp. Since I was curious if the way I did it would work out for stock downpipes.

The twin turbo downpipes was vrsf brand catless ones. The single turbo one was from on N54 on3 single turbo kit.

Can this be done to a 525i? Maybe I’ll have to upgrade rods and pistons

I don’t think the n52 exhaust manifold ports line up with the n54’s. If it does then can possibly use the kit. I think the a/c compressor runs and belts run on the passenger side compared to the n54 driver side, so might have to do something about that or run no a/c. I’m just speculating, but with time and some fabrication anything’s somewhat possible.

Thanks, yea I believe they have a supercharge kit for your car. For turbocharger more than likely would have to get some custom fabricated.
