As a person from Bratislava who grew up in a commieblock and has visited Glasgow I must say I'd rate the cities on pair, really. Wish Košice was more like Edinburgh though :/ Anyway, I feel fascinating how many parallels can one draw between Slovakia and Scotland - countries of 5M inhabitants, historically dominated by their southern neighbours, situated in elevated terrain, with many castles or castle ruins, lakes and railway viaducts, taking pride in their traditional music instruments (bagpipes and fujara), with men dressed in womanly garments (kilts and Detvian mini-shirts) and tradition of sheep herding, which is also the source of their national dish (haggis and halušky). I guess all we need is an Australian who'd make a movie about our folk hero, Jánošík.

Russia has tons of amazing cities and places (not only those prominent and opulent centres of globalisation - Moscow and St Petersburg). ⬇️
*Sochi* - called Russian Florida, Russian Switzerland and Russian Riviera, *Yalta* and all of *Crimea* - tons of beaches, resorts and Russian history, where outstanding Russian author Anton Chekhov wrote his world-famous literature, *Krasnodar* with its mild climate and Mediterranean vibe, with its fantastic “Galitsky Park”, one of the most amazing parks in the world, *Kazan* - opulent and prosperous Russian city, *Ufa* - another gorgeous Russian city, *Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk* - modern Siberian metropolises, *Kaliningrad* - in the centre of Europe preserving German, Soviet and Russian heritage, *Yekaterinburg* - the capital of the Urals, another highly urbanised Russian city, *Samara and Nizhny Novgorod* - beautiful Russian cities on the Volga River, *Tyumen* - clean and nice Russian city in Siberia, *Vladivostok* - located on the Pacific Ocean, often called Russian San-Fransisco etc. etc. I can go on and on. Not to mention, Russia has the breathtaking *“Golden Ring”* popular tourist route where Russia once started out as a country, with numerous 1000+ year old cathedrals and monasteries. *Stalingrad* (now Volgograd) - the legendary city in which the most important and game changing battle of WW2 happened with its astounding WW2 heritage. *Grozny* - fantastic city in the Caucasus. *Siberia* - often called “the most precious gem in the Russian imperial crown” and “the lungs of the planet” with its fantastic taiga and wilderness, with numerous national parks. *Altai* - in the heart of Asia with terrific lakes and mountains, *Karelia* - with fascinating Scandinavian landscapes, *lake Baikal* - the deepest lake in the world with unforgettable nature, *Kamchatka* - in the Far East with its incredible volcanoes and so on and so forth. I’ve touched upon like 20% of Russia. 💁🏻‍♂️

*Top 15 things Americans do not want to know about Slovakia:*
    1. Slovakia is a developed country in the middle of Europe
    2. The main industry is car production - some luxurious cars such as Porsche are being made here
    3. Slovakia is located in Central Europe, both geographically and politically. Not in Eastern Europe
    4. The air is not gray in Slovakia. The air is normal
    5. Guns in personal possesion are illegal, it is dificult to get papers that actually allow you to own guns
    6. We dont have a dictator - we have a female democratic president, that we ourselves elected
    7. None of this movie was actually shot in Slovakia. Not even a second out of it
    8. Our trees are not just dead branches - they do grow normal leaves
    9. We do have grass and plants growing out of the soil, unlike you can see here
    10. Witners arent "depressive". Summers are nice and hot sunny, winters can be beautiful and snowy, but not in Bratislava - the capital is quite warm
    11. We dont have trash laying out on the ground everywhere. We are EU member, the environmental policies are quite strict
    12. Random people of his age usually dont speak such a good English. (it is a hard pill to swallow for Americans, but not everybody in the entire world automatically knows how to speak YOUR language, especially 100% fluent)
    13. Slovakia has one of the lowest crime and homicide rates of all European countries
    14. Slovakia is a country with the highest number of castles per capita - that is the architecture that should represent the country, and also the beautiful and romantic historical town centres. Bratislava has its own castle, an important cathedral-place of royal coronations, beautiful old town centre, beautiful riverside and modern bridges, many big malls ets. It is a normal European city. The fact you Americans have never heard of it doesnt make it automatically a shithole.
    15. If you come to Slovakia with such an ignorant approach, do not blame us for treating you like trash. In case you are a normal, educated and intelligent person exploring Europe - we are glad to have you here and show you around!

Yes but they are talking about the ideology, I don't know how to explain but they say western europe (the capitalist europe) and the eastern europe (the communist europe). The us movies always attack their old enemy, the Communism.

It's even funnier when you realize they filmed the movie in Prague, so this is totally a shot at the people with whom the Czechs used to share a country.
