In John's 1st epistle, he speaks of us seeing God as he is. What does this mean and could John possibly be referring to an event he, himself, witnessed?
Check out this video with Dr. Brant Pitre to learn more about this topic.

he never truly gave the vision of the God, all he did is expanding the idea linguistically while citing the Biblical verses
he never gave any true intellectual understanding of it

Praise the Lord for this perspective. Its amazing how the Holy Spirit uses scripture, teaching to supernaturally speak to people in distinct ways, alleluia. The Words of God are spirit and life. I'm grateful for the transfiguration Bible story and the blessing this has bestowed on me. Glory to Jesus for the unveiled beautific vision of Christ. Shalom.

Dr Pitre must have a charism for speaking the Word of God and the things of God to people. I am always enlightened and strengthened when I listen to him, even about things that we have already learned at school. God sends us people of Faith to bring His light during dark times. I thank God and may He bless Dr Pitre.

The culmination of St Thomas Aquinas' beautiful and masterly hymn "Adoro te devote" is the final stanza:
    "Jesu, quem velatum nunc aspicio,
Oro, fiat istud quod tam sitio,
    Ut, te revelata cernens facie,
    Visu, sim beatus, tuae gloriae.
    Amen."
A poetic translation of this stanza by G. M. Hopkins:
"Jesus whom I look at shrouded here below,
I beseech thee, send me what I thirst for so,
Some day to gaze on thee face to face in light
And be blest forever with thy glory's sight. Amen."

The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
    Luke 17:20‭-‬21
The Kingdom does not come with observation; it is not seen with the physical eyes, it is not something outside of ourselves. Only Gods elect see Him as He is because it is His Saints that have purified themselves through the washing of the Word and love God with their whole heart, placing Him above everything we then recieve the Grace to see God. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God, Matthew 5:8.
The pure of heart are those that are true to God without guile.
At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
    John 14:20‭-‬21 KJV
This is not optional. If we want salvation we have to give up everything for God.
So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
    Luke 14:33 KJV
Think of the Christian Mystics. We are all called to that. That is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. The revelation of God. We have the opportunity to walk with God as did Adam in the garden in this life. It is all in the New Testament.
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
    Matthew 7:13‭-‬15

Seeing Him in Truth and Identical to Him in Truth
You are greatly creating a contradiction, identity, yet not an identity.
Finally, the thought of "Vision", isn't found in the small preachment.
You are giving the Biblical verses, and their expansionary interpretation
vision model was never given in the lecture

When Jesus appeared to St Faustina multiple times from 1931 to 1937 and told her about the coming "terrible, terrible war"... was that a beatific vision? Is the Divine Mercy painting from her description a representation of the beatific vision?

Christ always appeared with his glorious wounds. I don't see his most merciful heart. And I don't see his wounds in her picture of christ.

Do you think these "NDE" that we hear today are heresies?

    • @IloveJesusChristNowandForever
      @IloveJesusChristNowandForever 3 роки тому +2

I think the medical consensus is that NDEs are kind of like dreams. When the brain regains consciousness it interprets the experience of awakening through the cultural and linguistic lens of the patient. So maybe they're real experiences but I they're m9re than likely natural phenomena. That's my opinion based on church teaching and medical science. God bless you and keep you.

@@IloveJesusChristNowandForever I think I remember reading something somewhere about dimethyltryptamine, a chemical that the brain produces when we're about to face death either by drowning or whatever other means, apparently its a real feeling of pure peace. I guess its in God's design that we don't experience death as a traumatic event.. I'm guessing that this is similar to what NDE's are, only they survive death and still remember the experience 🤔 but its just a guess so don't quote me on it
