You said it makes the most sense that it would say a "sinking world" and you're right! There was an early version of that panel in Japanese that had the words uncovered on accident and it explicitly said "sinking world." Some Japanese UA-camrs pointed it out at the time.

5:16 I thought of the increased sea level as, when you throw a stone in the water, the water around the impact ripples throughout the container similarly the water is flowing into the hole but the tsunami's are caused due to the ripples caused by the mother flames impact!
17:08 But Alabasta’s capital was built 5000 years ago. Even for Lily that palace would be 4000+ years old. Does it mean they knew about the flood 5000 years ago? This makes me think; maybe all islands were protected by huge bubbles just like fishman island and even egghead (which is inspired by the past technology). So even if the sea levels rose no one was affected. The great kingdoms simply built their palaces at high places in case of bubble’s failure (which caused the catastrophe 900 years ago). Only a few survived and formed the WG.
In other words, everyone lived in Atlantis-like kingdoms back then whenever their lands were covered by water.
It depends, the Alubarna palace was built 4000 years ago. But what if that palace is exactly the chamber of Poneglyph? That is, you guessed, underground. So that was the old royal palace at sea level, but after the brother of Lily received the message, he started to built a new palace and new city on top of the old one, and he used the old palace to keep the poneglyph.

Is there a connection in Japanese between "Mother Flame" and Mother Nature being angry with the owners of the Devil Fruits? I see some kind of connection, something like this weapon is a metaphor for the anger of a mother who wants all the fruit users to drown, hmm...

It makes no sense for Imu to want to see people drown, since people from the world goverment also uses fruits themselves. And if Imu indeed had so much power as people give to him, he would need no such thing as a energy reactor, he himself would be able to control the seas (a thing he is incapable to do without that weapon).

Well, it has been a while since i saw this channel's last video. It is good to be back again, watching your detailed explanation with touch of Japanese language perspective. I'm also currently learning Japanese so i can always treat this as a studying process, not only an entertainment purposes.

Recently, by talking with my friends about JoyBoy, I came to this conclusion:
What if JoyBoy was a Lunarian?
First of all, we know that JoyBoy was from the ancient Kingdom, which was extremely advanced in technology. We also know for a fact (from Eneru's Cover stories) that the people from the Moon came to the Earth in search of more resources.
I suspect that those winged people from the Moon, who possessed incredibile technology, founded the Ancient Kingdom. To prove this, the murales on the Moon clearly depicted the 3 Ancient Weapons, which they likely brought to Earth.
I believe that the fact that the winged people of the Sky Island and the lunarians are the most religious towards the Sun God can't be a coincidence.
Also, to think of it, Luffy has many times showed how he could generate fire with his attacks: what if this ability is a trait passed by the lineage factor within his Devil fruit?
I hope that you found this theory worth reading! To end my comment I'll leave a little bit of foreshadowing in typical Oda' style!
The first time that we saw Luffy in Gear 5, he had the Moon behind him! Likely because the first JoyBoy was a Lunarian!

I think imu is an ‘umi’bozu(mythical sea spirit) hence the name and the sinking of the world…and umi means ocean….so I think there is a connection around here somewhere

Rising the sea level, devil fruit users not being able to swim, and Vegapunk's mentioning that devil fruits are born from people's dreams... I would risk to say that the world government is trying to kill people's dreams. A pirate era, where people learn how to navigate and survive over the water can keep these dreams alive.

You forgot that displaced water also causes raised sea levels. Like when man made islands are made sea levels rise to make up for the used up space.

in western comics you would see them looks straight forwards, over lapping their panel, text writen on and across the gutter. stuff like that.

Lily couldn't have been on Joyboy's crew and become a pirate. She was supposed to be part of 20 kingdoms responsible for creating World Government AFTER Joyboy's defeat. But instead of joining WG, she secretly travelled to Wano and met a Kozuki ancestor who was originally Joyboy's ally and helped them by scattering the Poneglyph & most likely lived the rest of her life there.
What was said by Imu is that Lily scattered the poneglyphs and vanished.
And we know that Joyboy was defeated prior to his death since he had time to sent a apology poneglyph to fishmen island.
What Imu suggests is that the world goverment put their hands into the poneglyphs. But Lily commited a "mistake" that scattered them. So this basically confirm that the world goverment had put their hands into the poneglyphs. However we learn from Cobra letter that Lily had the D name, thus she did not commited a mistake, but separated the poneglyphs because she had betrayed the goverment.
So she could very well had travelled with Joyboy for a time, scattering the poneglyphs before both of their demises. She was never found, and in Wano there is no mention of her either.
This is a really good theory.

Can you please also check episode 1088 or 1089 and Laugh tale episodes, im thinking one piece is a World Banquet, base from Luffy's childhood dream and what happened in laugh tale also the reactions from Luffy's crew (especially long nose reaction). Luffy said himself he needs to be a pirate King to achieve his dream , for a World banquet? Together with marine , government and all groups in OP WORLD?
Luffy is a simple minded character, he and the crew r not realizing they saved the country and its people by just helping a friend, it happened every arc while in search for the CUBE. They will save the world , straw hat pirates will do good beating about the marine, World government together with the master minds for slavery, all conflicts in the OP world and conflicts in the past as well.
Judging Dark King Statement about Void Century on sabaody and GDR statement about going to laugh tale too early , I think why they are not the chosen one is because Roger Pirates is for treasure only, I know of course luffy has Nika, he is the new joyboy now and said the past joyboy is the Savior, and that's what the straw hat pirates doing all the time , saving ppl making making peace in every island/country and now they are near saving the world, not just to save it from sinking.

The last panel of Chapter 1113 shows a whale. The whale is the beginning of the GrandLine (Laboon), the beginning of a new world, the whale was on Zunesha along with 1 poneglyph. Moreover, if Laboon and others are more like sperm whales, the whales on Zou and 1113 panel are more like blue whales. Could this be a hint of the last island being inside Whale?

That would explain why Roger’s pirate said they were too early, that’s why Rayleigh holds SHP for 2 years, that’s why Toki sends Momonosuke and others to 20 years in the future, and that’s why Shanks only starting to make his move now!
Shanks never went to Laugh Tale. He was supposed to but then Buggy got sick and he stayed with Buggy.
Maybe the reason why Shank's crew members don't have devil fruit is that they know the world will sink into ocean.
That would also explain why the only devil fruit user that we have seen him offer to join his crew was Marco, someone who can fly.

@@maternko1234 yeah Oda wasted times on the back stories of characters who weren't relevant to the main storyline whatsoever, and while Doffy was a great villain, at that time it seemed like Oda was extremely bored with the manga and struggled to come up with new ideas, and now I can tell by the pacing that he is looking to wrap things up. I'd say it'll probably finish by 2026/27. Then oda said he wants to do a robot manga, and I am all for that. Perhaps that manga could contain little subtle references and Easter Eggs to One Piece.

It seems like Kaido and Big Mom getting pounded into the mantle upon defeat was also meant to show two things - that there is a mantle to begin with, and that Luffy and Law+Kidd are approaching the level of strength at times of whatever destroyed Lulusia.

12:30 Is the giant's lifespan really only 300 years long or is it a misconception? , Jorul & Jarul were 350+ years old, i don't remember where/when I read it but I think oda sensei said giants have lifespan three times that of humans which would be 150×3=450. I could be totally wrong!

the part about oars is super interesting to me because its obvious that the giants wouldnt want to go to the cold region bc they would die, however-- what if just like your last theory of how the planet's axis shifted, this could mean that the world government could have twisted the axis in order to place the ancient giants' country at the poles so that they would all freeze to death?
its an idea that came to me from the combination of 'turning the world upside down' being akin to flipping the poles to be the equator again, as well as the comments from characters on how stupid it would be for the ancient giants to be naked in the polar caps, so i imagine they were once in a warm zone and thats why they didnt wear much clothing, what do you think?
i think especially that since the ancient giants can seemingly walk in the ocean, that they have some means of not caring if a flood happens, as they could simply walk across the ocean to get to another place, so they needed to be frozen, maybe the WG did that while the giants were sleeping, as akin to Luffy saying that if people from cold countries sleep, they die, as referencing the ancient giants being killed with the cold in their sleep perhaps?

Also I just realized the Noah will also connect the theory that Luffy's Dream is to host the biggest party ever. If they do it inside the Noah it'll fit perfectly.
Maybe the reason why Blackbeard never sleeps, is that hes from the Arctic(hence why Shanks was at some snowy Island when he met Ace, he went there to investigate BB and then he told gorosei what he found out)
On North Pole the Sun never sets
Underwater vulcano's were introduced as early as post Drum Kingdom, where the crew meets Bon Clay for the first time in a mist bed created by heated sea water through the heat dissolving it.
Drum Kingdom was a winter island, while Alabasta, the crews next destination, was a summer island.
Cold to heat. Alabasta being one of the most important parts of the story because the history and first poneglyph we find.
After that we go to Skypeia through the use of the knock-up stream, caused by the same underwater vulcanoes heating up cold sea water.
Another important step in the story where we learn about Joyboy and find out Roger was there, along with the arc Maxim and the moon, which impacts sea levels falling and rising.
Oda tought this to us before we knew it was important.
Just thought of this, but what if the mechanisms of the ancient city inside the moon found by Enel is a mechanism to change the space/altitude between the blue planet and itself to influence the sea level, thereby saving the world from a flood?

Also this will be buried under my comment because it's not that important, but I've noticed similarities between Genshin Impact and One Piece. Genshin's current region, Fontaine, also features a prophecy of a world, sinking, and many ancient kingdoms that have already sunk. I love making connections and theorizing between the two. They are very unrelated stories but are born of the same mythologies and theologies like that of the Norse Gods. There's even an eddy in a lake in Fontaine!! Sacred trees are heavily featured in both stories!! This newest chapter of one piece and your video has many gears turning in my head. Thank you!
@@AndieStardustDraws I think the similarities are there, in layers and "across the board." Attempting to remain neutral, I take most notice when an aspect of the story/world seems informed by gnosticism.

I think Egghead heat bubble in the water wasn't related to Lulucia, it was created by Vegapunk's artificial warming of the naturally cold island.
It doesn't affect your theory though, it may be just used as an example of foreshadowing, since Vegapunk is also the one who created Mother Flame.
In short, what I mean is that they might be related thematically, but not directly.
P.S. it's crazy to realize that there were no major sea battles in one piece so far 🤯

I think Imu believed in Joy Boy's peace and equality dream. However, Imu's direction for it is twisted. I noticed this when the Minks, the Wano Samurai, the Shandians, the Skypeians, the Giants, and the Fishmen, the most likely allied races to Joy Boy, live in locations that are high enough or below enough to survive the Great Flood. Imu and the World Government strangely never tried to conquer these locations and accepted their neutrality. It is likely Imu's goal is to wipe the slate clean (end of humanity) because he/she believes humanity's extinction can bring the world to peace (A far worse version of Absolute Justice). However, I think my theory is wrong and will be disproven.
Thanks for the upload. I kid you not, Katakuri is basically my favorite character besides Luffy. I just have problems with my favorite characters being introduced so late in a series. What if the world government can't do anything about discovery of Laugh Tale and the One Piece? So that the only possible way to wipe out the truth about the void century is to sink the entire island? Now it makes sense that quote of Shanks saying "isn't about time Beck? To get the One Piece", he was waiting for the right opportunity for the One Piece to get more achievable, perhaps it is something that can be moved easily with water.
Even if the Celestial Dragons and WG elites survive, what will be left for them to rule? Who will provide them with manpower, food, luxurious goods, feed their ego as the superior saints? I have a theory i would love to explain to you about the geothermal energy and Mother Flame.
As you have said, Knock Up Steam happens due to a cave heating with geothermal energy. However how that cave was created? I think KUS was artifical created by a Mother Flame attack. Jaya has a hole in one of the eyes and in the other there is the City of Gold. My guess is that Mother Flame attacked Jaya and destroyed part of the island and created the eye hole and the cave at the same time. Then after hundreads of years, water enters the cave and do a KUS.
Maybe they was trying to destroy the Gold City or the city was moved or there was something else in that part of the island. Those 3 have sense however i prefer another theory: Mother Flame was damaged in the middle of the combat. It did not destroyed the whole island because somehow the weapon was damaged. My guess is that Mother Flame is a ancestral weapon and one person has to use his powers to perform the attack. If the person was killed, the attack got aborted.
Only problem: why Enies Lobby hole was not filling with water then?
This is probably so irrelevant but it would be funny if they were able to plan everything 800 years in advance but they were 20 years early the first time because they didn’t account for leap years (20 leap years x 4 = 800 years😆) and that everything added up once they lept forward 20 years😂
If the rise in sea level is because of the melted glaciers in the icy lands, then it's just like our real world. Just like in the real world, I think some people in the One Piece world will ignore what Vegapunk says and the government will do its best to deny it or discredit Vegapunk. Quite a commentary on the state of our world..

The theory explains a lot but when I ask myself why One Piece is a pirate manga in my mind it's still missing one big thing which is characters committing piracy. There are many reasons why people consider Blackbeard an iconic antagonist but for me the number 1 reason is because he's the one character that really commits to being a plundering pirate.

if the final battles take place on sea, it puts some emphasis onto straw hats who've been left behind in terms of raw strength somewhat. controlling the weather is an incredible tool for naval battles, you need a powerful ship and a skilled helmsan to keep it safe, and alongside the person to person battles you need a good aim for cannons and the like (does the sunny even have cannons?)

Ask why the hole doesnt fill up. it might not fill up because a force is restricting the water to enter just like an invisible wall. could explain enies lobby and why the sea drasticly rises because the water cant go into that hole its like a big object was put into the water thus rising the sea level. Imagine a half full bathtub if u sit in it it will fill to the top.
