17:08 But Alabasta’s capital was built 5000 years ago. Even for Lily that palace would be 4000+ years old. Does it mean they knew about the flood 5000 years ago? This makes me think; maybe all islands were protected by huge bubbles just like fishman island and even egghead (which is inspired by the past technology). So even if the sea levels rose no one was affected. The great kingdoms simply built their palaces at high places in case of bubble’s failure (which caused the catastrophe 900 years ago). Only a few survived and formed the WG. In other words, everyone lived in Atlantis-like kingdoms back then whenever their lands were covered by water.
It depends, the Alubarna palace was built 4000 years ago. But what if that palace is exactly the chamber of Poneglyph? That is, you guessed, underground. So that was the old royal palace at sea level, but after the brother of Lily received the message, he started to built a new palace and new city on top of the old one, and he used the old palace to keep the poneglyph.

Is there a connection in Japanese between "Mother Flame" and Mother Nature being angry with the owners of the Devil Fruits? I see some kind of connection, something like this weapon is a metaphor for the anger of a mother who wants all the fruit users to drown, hmm...
It makes no sense for Imu to want to see people drown, since people from the world goverment also uses fruits themselves. And if Imu indeed had so much power as people give to him, he would need no such thing as a energy reactor, he himself would be able to control the seas (a thing he is incapable to do without that weapon).
I think Vegapunk’s second sin is related to the Mother flame: its discovery, its recreation for purposes beyond its initial intent (I think powering the Ancient Kingdom making it the unparalleled force in its time). Also, I love your channel! Recommend it all the time. I love that you present, in English, cogent One Piece theories based on a native Japanese speaker’s understanding. Lili’s letter, alternative translation: Raise the flag of [D]awn in [a world sinking]’. Blew my mind. Also, unrelated but probably related, loved King of Lightning’s recent video on the One Piece world being a Dyson’s Sphere covering a sun (possibly the Ancient Kingdom’s original Mother Flame). One of the one piece moons has a moon itself. Granted this isn’t an uncommon cosmological occurrence, but I love the theory that the moons are, in fact, planets orbiting a ‘Sun’ Also, least related but would be super cool: love the theory that Imu is an implanted consciousness in Joy Boy’s body which is the recipient of the Ope-Ope no mi eternal surgery.
Sanji's dream being connect to the sinking of the world will be too sad. But I still believe it'll be a better fit on when the redline would be destroyed. The scene starting from ~29:25 had me curious, so I looked it up and found the Japanese audio in ep 523. What Roger said when asking Rayleigh to "overturn" the world with him was the same as Oden talking with Toki. Roger used ひっくり返さない, a form of ひっくり返す (the transitive equivalent of ひっくり返る). I found that interesting. Have you spoken about this in any other video?
If possible, please do a video breaking down the lyrics of Bink's Sake! You have the best analysis of panels, kanji, katakana, and Oda's inspiration for OP!!!! For years I've been curious why Bink's Sake is written the way it is and I'm CONFIDENT you could unlock the secrets behind that song!!!
Also about the reasons for the rise of sea levels. If the mother flame indeed reaches the mantle and heats the ocean it doesn´t only causes the melting of ice sheets. If water is heated the water expands increasing its volume that´s why warm water has more volume than cold. This is one of the main concerns of global warming as it doesn´t only melts the ice but expands the water ocean reach. Talking about it there is a general misconception, even if icebergs melts it won´t increase ocean levels as solid water doesn´t raises water volume. That´s why the risk of ice melting is that the ice covered land loses its ice.
@07:29 First time i see this map... Take a closer look at GrandLine writing. in french a "gland" is the word for acorn, the oaks fruit. Enough to make a link with named trees? dunno, but someone can stretch something out ;) Btw, insane work D&D! 🏴☠🚀
Oda was so astonished by rising sea levels in real life, he added it into One Piece Our world too is sinking, risikg water levels will make Island Nations like Macau, Parts of Indonesia, Singapur, Maldives inhabitable
Nah bro those islands sinking is nothing, Oda is clearly hinting about the biblical floods that we have found a pile of evidence of. Whole continents sinking, not just islands. What you are talking about is relatively slow man made process, the floods our world has seen are calamities that happened almost overnight.
12:30 Is the giant's lifespan really only 300 years long or is it a misconception? , Jorul & Jarul were 350+ years old, i don't remember where/when I read it but I think oda sensei said giants have lifespan three times that of humans which would be 150×3=450. I could be totally wrong!
the part about oars is super interesting to me because its obvious that the giants wouldnt want to go to the cold region bc they would die, however-- what if just like your last theory of how the planet's axis shifted, this could mean that the world government could have twisted the axis in order to place the ancient giants' country at the poles so that they would all freeze to death? its an idea that came to me from the combination of 'turning the world upside down' being akin to flipping the poles to be the equator again, as well as the comments from characters on how stupid it would be for the ancient giants to be naked in the polar caps, so i imagine they were once in a warm zone and thats why they didnt wear much clothing, what do you think?
i think especially that since the ancient giants can seemingly walk in the ocean, that they have some means of not caring if a flood happens, as they could simply walk across the ocean to get to another place, so they needed to be frozen, maybe the WG did that while the giants were sleeping, as akin to Luffy saying that if people from cold countries sleep, they die, as referencing the ancient giants being killed with the cold in their sleep perhaps?
5:16 I thought of the increased sea level as, when you throw a stone in the water, the water around the impact ripples throughout the container similarly the water is flowing into the hole but the tsunami's are caused due to the ripples caused by the mother flames impact!
I think Egghead heat bubble in the water wasn't related to Lulucia, it was created by Vegapunk's artificial warming of the naturally cold island. It doesn't affect your theory though, it may be just used as an example of foreshadowing, since Vegapunk is also the one who created Mother Flame. In short, what I mean is that they might be related thematically, but not directly. P.S. it's crazy to realize that there were no major sea battles in one piece so far 🤯
Hm, interesting, i could see this be the case, we’ll just have to see the rest of Vegapunk’s explanation, still very well done Video, like always. By the way, have you heard about the Theory about Vivi being the Next User of Kuma’s Devil Fruit? I would like to know your opinion on it.
I had been theorizing that OP world is sinking and has always been since the day they explained why Wano became what it look like in present time and solidified with Lulusia incident.
Just realized the fact that whiteboard was straight up hinting at the end of the egghead arc and heavily foreshadowed early on how Egghead is the catalyst for the giant war. Kinda crazy I just realized this and I've been caught up with everything so far
if the wall in wano was built to avoid floodin around the void century, then someone in wano either had forewarning of the rise, or built it incredibly fast, given that it took one week for the flooding to happen after the most recent sinking. if the final battles take place on sea, it puts some emphasis onto straw hats who've been left behind in terms of raw strength somewhat. controlling the weather is an incredible tool for naval battles, you need a powerful ship and a skilled helmsan to keep it safe, and alongside the person to person battles you need a good aim for cannons and the like (does the sunny even have cannons?)
Do you guys think the history of the real world is similar to the history of One Piece? Worldwide Floods/Flood “myths” across ancient cultures? Ancient advanced civilization denied & covered up by the government? Free energy? Assassination of researchers of the esoteric? Revolutions against a diabolical system? Oda is beating ppl over the head with the hints lol
Rising the sea level, devil fruit users not being able to swim, and Vegapunk's mentioning that devil fruits are born from people's dreams... I would risk to say that the world government is trying to kill people's dreams. A pirate era, where people learn how to navigate and survive over the water can keep these dreams alive.
Hi Luna Piena! Just wanted to share my thoughts here! Recently, by talking with my friends about JoyBoy, I came to this conclusion: What if JoyBoy was a Lunarian? First of all, we know that JoyBoy was from the ancient Kingdom, which was extremely advanced in technology. We also know for a fact (from Eneru's Cover stories) that the people from the Moon came to the Earth in search of more resources. I suspect that those winged people from the Moon, who possessed incredibile technology, founded the Ancient Kingdom. To prove this, the murales on the Moon clearly depicted the 3 Ancient Weapons, which they likely brought to Earth. I believe that the fact that the winged people of the Sky Island and the lunarians are the most religious towards the Sun God can't be a coincidence. Also, to think of it, Luffy has many times showed how he could generate fire with his attacks: what if this ability is a trait passed by the lineage factor within his Devil fruit? I hope that you found this theory worth reading! To end my comment I'll leave a little bit of foreshadowing in typical Oda' style! The first time that we saw Luffy in Gear 5, he had the Moon behind him! Likely because the first JoyBoy was a Lunarian!
Another interesting theory to look at might be that the One Piece is underwater or in the air / space. Which is somewhat how gps works. One of the reason you would need a fourth satellite (poneglyph) is the altitude. A fourth one would not make sense if it always is located on ground level.
@dawn n dusk got a question are there any stereo typical techniques in manga when ever a character intends to break the 4th wall n talk directly to the reader? in western comics you would see them looks straight forwards, over lapping their panel, text writen on and across the gutter. stuff like that. i'm curious rather odas true history is way more straigth forward then we imagine.
Is the eggshell at the top of egg head the same that was in Roger Ship? Or at least they have the same nature? Or is it just an aesthetical decision? The only thing we've seem that can create clouds capable of carrying things are dragons, did vegapunk created a technology to imitate dragons?
I still like my theory that shanks is guarding the one piece as the final celestial dragon to make sure Luffy is worthy of aquiring it better, same with how shanks got his scar from blackbeard, by blackbeard trying to steal the nika nika fruit, because it looks so similar to the yami yami fruit

Great prediction of your previous videos, some already have been proved....keep continue....
I love the calming background music. Straight from Pokemon SV's Area Zero. You are my favorite channel to fall asleep to.
the part about oars is super interesting to me because its obvious that the giants wouldnt want to go to the cold region bc they would die, however-- what if just like your last theory of how the planet's axis shifted, this could mean that the world government could have twisted the axis in order to place the ancient giants' country at the poles so that they would all freeze to death?
its an idea that came to me from the combination of 'turning the world upside down' being akin to flipping the poles to be the equator again, as well as the comments from characters on how stupid it would be for the ancient giants to be naked in the polar caps, so i imagine they were once in a warm zone and thats why they didnt wear much clothing, what do you think?
i think especially that since the ancient giants can seemingly walk in the ocean, that they have some means of not caring if a flood happens, as they could simply walk across the ocean to get to another place, so they needed to be frozen, maybe the WG did that while the giants were sleeping, as akin to Luffy saying that if people from cold countries sleep, they die, as referencing the ancient giants being killed with the cold in their sleep perhaps?
This is an excellent theory actually
So THAT'S why it's about pirates!?
It makes so much sense...
If you go to the sea, you fight pirates!!
Thank you for another wonderful video. I really appreciate hearing from a native speaker.
Another incredible video thank you!
I love the way he get the answer in the one piece characters
It's great to see that crazy theories I had in 2010 about OP are becoming popular.
if the wall in wano was built to avoid floodin around the void century, then someone in wano either had forewarning of the rise, or built it incredibly fast, given that it took one week for the flooding to happen after the most recent sinking.
if the final battles take place on sea, it puts some emphasis onto straw hats who've been left behind in terms of raw strength somewhat. controlling the weather is an incredible tool for naval battles, you need a powerful ship and a skilled helmsan to keep it safe, and alongside the person to person battles you need a good aim for cannons and the like (does the sunny even have cannons?)
Best theories around, keep it up
Also, starting the great pirate era could potentially save lives. More people building boats and learning to live at sea.
After the last chapter this is the best channel for theory
Timing is everything.
I am out of words to describe my thanks for your videos.
Awesome on your scientific analyze. That must’ve been a lot of work and study. Keep up the great work you are doing.
Hey dawn and dusk, I feel like you should check out Oda’s manga called !wanted, I feel like it has the stuff that help what made one piece.
And a cabal of shape shifting demons who control everything in the world.
Recently, by talking with my friends about JoyBoy, I came to this conclusion:
What if JoyBoy was a Lunarian?
@dawn n dusk
got a question are there any stereo typical techniques in manga when ever a character intends to break the 4th wall n talk directly to the reader?
in western comics you would see them looks straight forwards, over lapping their panel, text writen on and across the gutter. stuff like that.
i'm curious rather odas true history is way more straigth forward then we imagine.
The best theory channel! Thank you for your work!
Dawn dusk upload in a week?yeahhhh!
17:08 incorrect statement, that palace was built 4000 years ago and lili wrote the letter 800 years ago.
MOM! NEW DARN & DUSK VIDEO JUST DROPPED!
Ooo another video already! Waku waku!
Great timing! Just when I'm about to eat!
Is the eggshell at the top of egg head the same that was in Roger Ship? Or at least they have the same nature? Or is it just an aesthetical decision? The only thing we've seem that can create clouds capable of carrying things are dragons, did vegapunk created a technology to imitate dragons?
for sure top 5 one piece channel atm
I still like my theory that shanks is guarding the one piece as the final celestial dragon to make sure Luffy is worthy of aquiring it better, same with how shanks got his scar from blackbeard, by blackbeard trying to steal the nika nika fruit, because it looks so similar to the yami yami fruit
Why this channel was so underrated
