I got a 2024 forester and I specifically wanted the old screen with the knobs for the radio and fan/ac because I knew they were going with the outback’s infotainment system.
Nice review - thanks for sharing! I really like Subaru. I drove a 2024 Outback Touring XT as a loaner recently, and I was blown away. It's not the fastest or fanciest car ever, but I can see why people like them. The only complaint is the infotainment system, for the reasons you mentioned. Everything being run through the screen seems off brand for Subaru. I was hoping for something a little more rugged (physical knobs/buttons), especially for climate controls.
Slight correction, the outgoing Forester didn't have a turbo option. The Forester dropped the turbo in 2018. This one kind of looks like a Honda but Subaru will have no problem selling them. The heated seat controls are annoying but I've found Subaru's auto climate control to work very well. The aftermarket will figure out a hitch kick replacement location. The flat tire bag is nice but the battery is strange.
Thank you for the fine review. Some car makers stiffen the suspension on their "Sport" models. Do you think that other Forester models have a softer suspension? Thanks again.
If Subarus would have come with Toyota engines, I would definitely buy one. The Subaru boxer engines are disastrous for oil leaks, emissions control system failures and piston failures once out of warranty. If they can provide a guarantee that these issues are fixed and backed up with extended warranty then it is worth taking a risk.
@faheemabbas3965 Toyota's hybrid system paired with the same Boxer engine, just like they did with the Crosstrek hybrid back in the day. Power increase and fuel economy gains will be minimal though.
Zach, you should really hate this CVT. This new generation, you have to split the transmission casing and remove gears to even get at the CVT filter, so their days are numbered. Don’t give into its “reliability” just because it’s Subaru.
Thanks for the information. I own a manual transmission, turbo Forester. Guess I will have to wait until the hybrid comes out. You didn’t mention if the Forester is available with a manual. Always like your videos.
Two videos in a day. You're spoiling us!
2 videos in a day!?!?!? This must be Christmas morning!

I think the 2024 looks better too
Damn, 2 videos in one day. This is awesome! Keep up the good work!
I must say; I love the looks of it, better then most SUVs out today & that color combo pops!
Great advice on the tow hitch. Seen a lot of reviews on this and no one has brought that up.
The outgoing Forester gen did not have a turbo option. It only offered the standard 182 hp boxer engine.
I’m glad we got the 24 Sport instead.

Agreed! Great cars but Subaru infotainment is so annoying.

Im happy to see some of these suv’s or whatever you call them getting back to the squarish body. I hated everything looking like the Rogue

The upcoming hybrid Forester is going to use Toyota’s hybrid system.
…but yeah. Subaru boxers are a failure. All they have left is their AWD.

how is that new toyota tundra engine going? oh yeah, they are all being recalled because of failures
I think I have the solution for you - buy a toyota
Am I the only one that’s seeing a Subaru ascent or is it just me?
I thought Subarus were known for their softer suspension? If not then what would you recommend?
9:29 I don't understand. Why won't Subaru just change the battery for a US spec battery from the dealerships before the customers go to buy the cars?
Just bought my white one today!
This new Forester looks a little too much like an older generation Ford Explorer
I was about to say
More Subaru ASMR plz.
What is this color? from japanese.

Sweet
They want over $38K for these things.
3 years ago you could get one for 28
Jimmy Johns wants $10 for a regular sub. Times change.
