    This video explains the roux method substep called EOLR. EOLR stands for edge orientation left (and) right. This combines steps 4a and 4b or roux last six edges. The idea behind it is that you solve EO in a specific way in order to put the UL UR edges on the bottom. There are only about 60 cases to learn because many cancel out with symmetry, and these cases are all intuitive. The algorithms can be found here: tinyurl.com/eolrkian
    The video tutorial playlist can be found here: bit.ly/2i2HI32

      Yes. When you recognize EOLR, you do EOLR, otherwise normal LSE.

    Should i even lern the 60 algs? Or can i just do this intuitive?

    • @Kian_Mansour
      @Kian_Mansour  7 років тому +12

      Daniel T This is basically like F2L. All cases are intuitive, but some are better learned as algs because you will know how to do them the most efficient way and will have them in muscle memory. Go through the list like 5 times and you should be good.

      I use it about 80% of the time, which is most of the useful cases.

    Quick question: I've been messing with the lube and tensions of my GTS, but it's still a bit...unruly. I've been eyeballing a Thunderclap V1 for a while now, but I've also been hearing a lot of good things about the Valk 3. Having used both, which do you prefer for Roux?

      Kian Mansour Thanks! do you recommend learning cmll or eolr first? i already copyied all your cmlls on a notebook and are learning them slow but steady. i have a good alg that i didn't find there , for the mirror L. R' F R B' R' F' R B ( i do it like i was doing an x)

    Occasionally i get a cases that are not including on EOLR, like i got UF and DB for Arrow(f) case. Is it just me or it happens to other people as well?

    • @Kian_Mansour
      @Kian_Mansour  5 років тому +1

      This is normal. I didn't include these cases in the videos or document because the optimal "EOLR" solution here is just normal EO into UL UR. Most cases are better with EOLR, and if a case isn't listed, then it's either a mirror of a case that is there, or it's just not necessary

      Thank u and ur videos are awesome!!

  • @alexf0101
    @alexf0101 8 років тому

    Huh, I know that's not the point of the video, but I noticed that in the very beginning when you do LR normally, you do M' U2 M to put them on the bottom. I've always done M U2 M for that. Never knew about these two options, lol! Looks like it allows you to control if L or R edge ends up on FD, which is especially nice for OH since you can make sure that after inserting LR, BU will be closer to you to make lookahead for 4c easier. Makes sense?

    • @guroux
      @guroux 8 років тому

      yeah, in OH, go for the more efficient solution usually. of course that means you have to be able to do Ms well, at least better than M'M'M'.

    • @alexf0101
      @alexf0101 8 років тому

      Erm but I didn't mention efficiency, don't both options have the same efficiency?

    • @guroux
      @guroux 8 років тому +1

      oh, sorry, i didn't rewatch the video. do what ever is faster. can't think of a situation where M would be faster than M'

    • @alexf0101
      @alexf0101 8 років тому

      Hmm I suppose your lookahead is great so you don't really need BU closer to you, you always know what it is even when it's on the far side from you. I'll get there eventually :)

    • @Kian_Mansour
      @Kian_Mansour  8 років тому +1

      +Alex Friedman just do whatever is faster speed-optimally. that means M's.

    то есть как я понял суть этого метода такова,что надо сориентировать все оставшиеся ребра так, при этом чтобы собралась пара от двух сторон?

    • @TarandirYT
      @TarandirYT 7 років тому

      Михаил Ав. Да, тут сабсет, которым ориентируешь все ребра и одновременно ставишь оба боковых ребра верхнего слоя на место

    • @mixailf.v.ng.9711
      @mixailf.v.ng.9711 7 років тому

    • @mixailf.v.ng.9711
      @mixailf.v.ng.9711 7 років тому

      Tarandir а на русском языке есть объяснение этого способа?

    • @TarandirYT
      @TarandirYT 7 років тому

      Михаил Ав. На русском не искал, но суть Roux в том, что собираешь два блока 1х2х3 справа и слева вместо креста, потом ориентируешь и пермутируешь уголки верхнего слоя. Ориентируешь все ребра через М и U. Вставляешь боковые ребра верхнего слоя и остается только М, который интуитивно собирается. Вообще весь Roux очень интуитивен. Вся его прелесть в сборке блоков, потому, что нет креста и пары загоняются свободнее, чем в F2L

    • @mixailf.v.ng.9711
      @mixailf.v.ng.9711 7 років тому

      Tarandir я имел ввиду способ EOLR когда сразу и ориентируешь все ребра и собираешь две стороны.а насчет всего метода roux согласен.очень интересный метод!👍👍👍👍

      i guess it's personal preference, i always thought of as m like a r, and i did not have problems with edge swapping pll (i guess cause they were simmetrical and both ways work). i'm new to roux, started cubing less then 3 months ago with cfop (sub 25), but i like the freedom of roux so i switched. thanks for your work, quality videos like these are kind of hard to find for this method

    If you saw that 4 flip case as misoriented centers from the beguining you could cancel with M' U2 M U2 M' instead of M' U2 M' U2 M U2 M2
