Good perspective of a very real scenario. One could speculate that without the rack sprinklers, this fire would have quickly grown beyond control control of the ceiling sprinklers.
ohhhh so this is why storage systems sometimes get designed with small hose connections around the racks. The idea must be for a rack to be controlled like this and for the FD to finish it up with a 1 1/2" connection. But still most FDs would probably just go in with a line from the pumper.

If I do not have face spk only flue spk , should I add solid barrier every 2 tiers ( I have spk on the ceiling )
