The first time I went backpacking was when I was 17, I had just gotten my drivers license and told my parents I was "camping with friends". Instead I backpacked for 4 days in the Adirondacks alone. Everyone will say its scary and dangerous to camp alone, but I think the risk is part of the beauty. There is absolutely something empowering about facing the wilderness alone and depending only on yourself should something happen. It builds confidence and a self reliance. I have of course tried camping with friends in subsequent trips but now that I'm 30 I can say that camping alone is easily my preferred way to spend time in nature. Thank you for picking up the trash left behind by others!
WOW I am seriously amazed at your story. I love that and wish that experience had been filmed and I could watch lol. 4 days out of the gate! That’s really impressive
Greatly admire your bravado, but that is literally the exact opposite of what one should do, lol. Even the most burly, manliest of mountain men let someone know where they're going, how long they're gonna be there and when they're supposed to be back, so that if the worst happens rescue has a leg up on finding them.
@stevenshelley9345 a bit of solitude clears the mind, and yes, I arm myself. Occasionally, I'll bring a pup along if the weather and location allow. The areas I camp at have big cats that are ambush predators, as for bears, there are only black bears around, and they usually avoid people or run away from the sight or sounds of a person.
@Agrothewarhorse yes it's good that you're armed and the thing about black bears they do tend to runaway from a crowd of people but are attracted to the smell of food cooking as do the big cats I'm in Illinois ,seen my share of coyote. In broad daylight go after people's pets but no big cats , but you seem to. Enjoy camping ,out in the wilderness and you're a very beautiful woman and don't seem to be afraid so be careful be safe I will be looking forward to your next journey into the wild , there were these two Caucasian women that venture out into the woods I forget their names 1 had a well trained collie (lassie) she carry a side piece and. A. Rifle the other 1 carried a bow and Arrow and a Big knife spoke with an accent.i enjoyed their channel as well .
one tip for ya, when casting your rod, don't have your lure all the way to the tip of your rod, have it hanging 12'''-16'' below the rod tip. It will cast much farther and smoother, give it try. And yes, therma cells do work or at least help, for sure. Enjoyed the video !
I love your videos. They are refreshing, Honest and unpretentious. I love the fact that you don't claim to be this super experienced bush crafter!! Keep them coming.
Your a natural, don't doubt your abilities. It's great that you admit your a newbie to this and aren't over confident. Your doing great girl. Don't stop
Your videos have inspired me to finally stop just watching people on youtube go backpacking and do it myself. I'm dragging my hubby along with me even though we have no clue what we're doing 😅 We're going for a night this weekend... wish me luck!
Literally makes me so happy to read this! Nobody has a clue starting out lol. I definitely didn’t and am still figuring it out. I wish you both the best and hopefully you update this thread with how it went when you get back!
The "blabbing part" was one of the best parts. You're a natural! I like how you did the flashbacks and spoke of the sketchy moments. For obvious reasons, it's hard to film when stressed, PO-ed, or in what could quickly become a perilous situation. But, so long as you can safely do so, it does make for good TV. I wouldn't have even thought about filming the ice if I'd just started, and I still haven't attempted winter camping for UA-cam! You're a hard worker and it shows! 👏
Haha thank you!! I wasn’t sure if I was going to bore people to death! I made a couple practice videos before I finally decided to post anything…that trip with the ice went completely sideways and I actually stopped filming part of the way through and I wasn’t able to make a complete video. I really really appreciate that. Thank you 😊😊😊
@Apeaceofthewoods Not boring at all. Very engaging. I totally understand having to abandon a project. Sometimes, getting yourself out of a hairy situation, preserving your mental health, or just enjoying the moment for yourself is more important. Still, not gonna' lie, I think we all want to see more of that winter footage! 🫣 😁
What a joy to see you out in nature, and my joy is increased by your sharing your story of how a passing interest became an active part of your life! And, btw, you aren't doing anything wrong: you're doing everything right by facing your fear, and challenging yourself in various ways! That's how we grow are human beings, by pushing our boundaries, and exploring those things which challenge us! You are beautiful, smart, courageous and true to your heart, true to your spirit, an adventurous soul, with that wow! factor that is unmistakable! This is the 3rd video of yours which I've been blessed to experience, and I'm very grateful for each one! Thank you! Truly. : )
Wow! You are really getting popular fast! 10K subscribers will not be long in coming. You come cross as being very genuine and with no "agenda" other than to show yourself on a camping trip. I'm going to keep following because of that.
Once again THANKS for picking up after the slobs before you!! Also, cool with the background part of the video where you shared your struggles and mistakes thus far in your journey. Way to hang in there!!! So many more adventures will be in your future. STAY SAFE!!
Unfortunately this campsite was pretty trashed and I wasn’t able to pickup all of it :/ Thank you! I do plan to do a lot more adventures…I’m excited for it. Thank you!! I will 😊
You are making some great content! I live in northeast Michigan and recognize some of the areas you have been so its fun to watch someone in familiar territory. Spend lots of time on the Ausable river area, but my favorite camping destination is the UP. Keep being you and follow your heart. Stay safe and enjoy!!
Aww thank you ☺️☺️☺️ I found out I wasn’t following LNT guidelines so no more cutting down dead and standing trees for me. I appreciate you for coming along!!
Thank You Woodsy! I really appreciate your bravery of getting out there and learning the skills about the outdoors. You have really inspired me to do the same. I’ve always been too embarrassed, afraid, or failing in front of others. It’s has definitely held me back of becoming the best version of myself. Everyone has to start somewhere. It doesn’t matter where you start. There is always someone else who could use the courage and determination to get started. That’s what you have done for me. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos and how you develop in your outdoor adventures. Good Luck. Be Safe and Take Care.
Aww thank you so so much. I’m so happy to hear that ☺️☺️☺️ Believe me I have the same fears…I make a lot of mistakes and sometimes it’s embarrassing. But everyone makes mistakes…and there is no failing if you’re trying. You are 💯 we all have to start! And every single person who has started didn’t have a clue in the beginning…whether they were 8 years old or in their 30s lol. I promise you’ll be so happy when you do. And you’ll be an inspiration to other people who want to do the same ☺️ Good luck out there as well…can’t wait to hear how things go with your first adventure when you’re ready. And you be safe too! 😊😊
My gurl! Glad you had a safe and successful camp and that you got the site you wanted.I actually loved that site you stopped at right before reaching yours. Always praying for Divine protection🙏
I literally love getting comments from you. Thank you ☺️☺️ I was kind of mad! I thought I had the best site but the other 2 were definitely nicer than mine. Thank you so much 🙏🙏
I have been watching a lot of Camping Videos lately. Many of them bring Glamor and luxury to the outdoors. I love how you are emersed in pure raw nature.
Anyone who says they have never been uneasy while alone in the woods should probably stop camping in their backyard. Being alone in the woods is the nectar of life for me. To actually disconnect from human contact and listen to the wind in the trees is priceless. Just keep having fun and do things your way.
I truly admire when I see people taking to the outdoors and living a rewarding life in their own way, more so being brave enough to do it solo.. keep up the great work! Stay safe.
You’re not doing a thing wrong. As long as you’re happy, and being careful about not getting hurt, lost, or hypothermic, you’re fine. I’d suggest a few basics- Always have a way to create a quick shelter (a small tarp is gold), a change of dry clothes, a reliable way to start a fire, and a map / compass to get yourself out if needed (electronics fail). The more experienced you become, the smaller and more focused your gear list will become. Enjoy!
I appreciate that ☺️☺️ Actually these are great tips. I didn’t have a few of these items with me while on my hike away from camp but I should and I will moving forward. Thank you!!!
Thank you for sharing your experiences, thoughts, and perspective. As an introvert who loves nature, I don't think there is anything "weird" at all about going out there solo. I am a 40 year old dad who has never done any solo camping in my life, I really respect your courage to jump in and just try it / learn as you go. Really admirable, thanks for documenting the process and showing us what can be done!
You are an inspiration to so many. Thanks for sharing your story and how you’ve gotten to this point. Mistakes happen, you’re doing a fantastic job. Keep doing you.
Great video, noticed you are spending some more time on the quality of the filming and content. Also loved that you shared some of your story. Good on you dude.
Again, amazing to see someone learning to be in the outdoors, congrats to you for opening up about why you camp alone! Good story time! Thermacells definitely work well!! 1 Advice for fishing though, don't fish from your campsite too long, right at the campsite is going to be the most pressured spot on the lake, take an hr and fan cast walking around the lake or up one side or whatever!! Great to see another video!!
That is actually such a good point! Wish I would have just walked around the lake. I definitely stayed on the side closest to camp. I appreciate you coming back and commenting again! I know you typically don’t! Thank you it means a lot 😊😊😊
Ive been waiting on a new video. Thanks for sharing. Really enjoyed it. Im glad you're getting out there and not afraid to be alone. You are a beautiful young lady! Please be aware of your surroundings. Looking forward to another adventure! Be safe!
Mosquito repell coils are fabulous. I put one in the coals of campfire and worked really well. Also, I grew up in Hillman, MI and west- northwest of us was amazing camping opportunities.
Never heard of mosquito repell coils but I’ll have to check them out! I’m not familiar with that area but looks like a bunch of remote lakes on google! Definitely an area I would love to go for another weekend trip
Great second video, I’m so glad to have found your channel! You’re such an inspiration for young women who would like to be self sufficient and adventurous.
The mosquitos are so bad right now at night where I am you can hear a low buzzing sound from the surrounding woods at night. They own it all right now. We are 5 inches above on rainfall for the year. The first frost will return it to normal almost looking forward to it. Nice to see you back dear !
They ended up not being too bad on this trip surprisingly but that sounds awful! The gnats are what got me this time. I ended up with about 100 of them in my left eye
New to your channel, but I love everything from your curls to your courage. Cheers to continuing to chase your curiosity and itch even after your first experience which was rough. Keep it up gurl ❤
Thank you, Ms. Woodsy ! The fresh air, the solitude, food cooked over a camp fire you can't beat ! You are an Elite Few ! Most Females wouldn't leave Civilization or their cell phones ! Always be Vigilant and carry ! Lone Bear !
You're awesome. Just a solid outlook and personality. Keep putting out videos like this - going to nice spots, fishing, cooking great meals, doing some bushcraft. Your channel will take off and you won't have to be going to "work" on Mondays!
Aww thank you ☺️ haha I appreciate you. I plan to keep making videos. And I would love to learn some bushcraft. There is so much to learn but I’m excited about it all ☺️☺️
Good for you. I did solo backpacking for about 35 years. I only went with five other people in that time. I will say that you eat a lot better than I ever did. Enjoy it while you can. At 84 I am just camping in the back of my pickup and day hiking but I still love Michigan and the outdoors.
Haha I wouldn’t be able to eat like this on long backpacking trips..or canoe trips with lots of portages. But it’s nice when I can ☺️ good to hear you’re still getting out and enjoying nature. Day hiking and car camping is more than a lot of people do
heyyy girrrlll im so glad your back! Man i wish i could do this! Should do a subscriber hike/campout with you as a michiganders. Just a thought rather than people asking individually to camp with you but i bet youd get a bigger turnout than you think. Like a meet and greet. Lol your adorable... that pine cone had it out for you! I just love how you tell the story and narrate it for us!
Heyy!! Aww thank you! You can do this! ☺️☺️That would be really fun to do one day. I think that’s a really good idea when I’m feeling a little more confident lol Haha seriously. That pine cone has probably been the scariest thing so far 😂 Thank you, I appreciate you listing 😊❤️
@@Apeaceofthewoods haha I’ve got the gear already. Just haven’t done it yet! And yeaaa thatd be cool once you become famous 😂 Girl you are confident? You sit in front of a camera and talk to yourself. That takes confidence lmao! Seriously tho! You spew confidence! Keep it up 👍🏻
Good job mixing up each of your outdoor adventures - from canoeing, to backpacking, and at various places around the state! I enjoy seeing the areas you're camping in & the equipment you use once you get there...
@@ApeaceofthewoodsYes, a trip this fall is going to be great! I've set a date for traveling to one of the places you showed & as we messaged about a few weeks ago, I did go with my Dad last week and "test paddled" a couple of Esquif canoes (Adirondack and the Echo). I am still looking though and haven't quite pulled the trigger yet...
That’s exciting! Which area are you going to? How did you like the Echo compared to the Adirondack? I was also curious about the Echo but I wasn’t sure if it was worth the $1K difference in price.
@@Apeaceofthewoods Sorry for the delayed response as I had some other stuff going on & then got away for a brief outing as well. I plan on going to the BILWA later this fall and am excited about that... BUT, I still need a canoe. Ha Ha - To answer your question, I like both Esquif canoes. The Adirondack is obviously shorter & cheaper. The Echo can store more gear and tracks a bit better due to the longer length. Hopefully I can get back up there to the store & look at a few other brands as well. Since it's the end of the season, there wasn't much in color choice, and although I don't think that matters a whole lot, I want to be excited about whatever my choice is after spending the money.
Just discovered your channel, happy to have found it when I did while your channel is so young! I live in Michigan, and have been to many of the best places this beautiful state has to offer. It's nice to see you discovering some of these places as well. I follow alot of the same type of channels you talked about, I would say that I have seen a few really good people making really good content get burned out on making the videos, trying to make a certain amount of content each week or month. Try not to fall into that trap, where it starts to feel like a job! (Making enough content for us subscribers)
Thank you for such good advice. Im really enjoying it but the tricky part is balancing trips with work etc. once per month is manageable for me but I hope I can do more. I won’t push beyond what feels right
Very nice video. I too like to watch and live through other people. One day I will do the same myself as I love nature and the outdoors. It’s easy to spot the fakes who go out with help. Yours is genuine. Stay safe and have fun.
I hope you do! It took me years to try it. I still live through other people during the week when I can’t get out and do it myself 😊 thank you so much. I appreciate you ☺️☺️
Thank You for posting! Wonderful scenery . At 25:28 I was chanting DO IT DO IT . Your admission of making mistakes while camping, hiking and canoeing I believe, draws your viewers in closer. I avoid watching the channels that are heavily perfected and edited. I read a few comments already posted, where you stated you aim to post a video each month. I believe I probably state this for others as well; 2-3 a month is hereby requested! Anyway, Thank you again for this posting!
Thank you for watching!! Haha I was just so tired and I could not find a trail down to the water…there’s a little part of me that feels like I missed out though 😩 lol. I would love to be able to go on trips 2-3 times a month. I’ll probably be able to do 2 sometimes. 3 might be a lot with work lol…thank you though!! I appreciate that you look forward to more videos. It still so surprising to me!
Thank you, for another lovely and peaceful video. I share your fear of ticks, but when you then start talking about bears and snakes, I would be more worried about them instead of the ticks :-) Fortunately, we don't have the bears and super venomous snakes here in Sweden where I live so the only thing I'm worried about ticks when I'm out hiking/camping. Anyway, I really appreciate your great videos, especially this part where you share your personal story of how you got started in hiking and camping and why you did it. Like all your other videos, they radiate joy and enthusiasm and it is clear that you enjoy the outdoors and the peace - And that joy is contagious :-) Take care and keep posting your lovely videos.
Haha logically I know there are a few things I should be more worried about than ticks…but I just can’t get past them. They are what keeps me up at night lol. Snakes are right there too…You’re lucky you don’t have to worry about them in Sweden. I would love to camp there one day! I appreciate you. Thank you so much for this feedback ☺️☺️☺️ and for being here for each one
Thermacell definitely works. I use them while creating content in the woods every day. I would recommend the one that attaches to a small propane tank as it will be cheaper in the long run rather than buying their refills.
Thank you for the confirmation! I wasn’t sure if it was helping or if there weren’t many mosquitos around. That makes sense and could use that on a canoe trip for sure! ☺️☺️☺️
You are doing a great job at what you love to do. There are no mistakes just learning experiences. I admire your ambition and efforts. Love watching your videos. Keep up the great job you are doing. The drone footage is a great addition.
Highly recommend that you try Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) in northern MN sometime in the future since you’re into canoe camping. Great videos, I’m impressed by your camp cooking skills!
I am a fellow transplant from the west coast to Michigan who has always hiked/camped alone. Great job getting out there and figuring it out, that is the only way to really do it in my mind. Being comfortable in silence is truly a great trait to have! I might have to head down to Byron lake and check it out, it sure did look lovely! Thank you for making the video and sharing the trip with us all.
Wow! I rarely meet any West Coast transplants here. I’m excited to take a trip home and see what it’s a like to do this out West. Thank you for watching! I hope you make it out there!
@@Apeaceofthewoods Same here, I've not met any transplants from the West Coast since I moved here from Oregon. Washington has SO much to offer that I think the hardest part, when you take a trip back home, is figuring out where to go! :)
I love the matter-of-fact, _warts and all_ approach to your videos. So many other channels edit to make everything seem perfect. Yours seem like real experiences, not produced product.
Good to see you again , blessings to you and your heart is beautiful which makes you 100x more beautiful real recognize real , but the Food looks really good to btw and safe camping
@@Apeaceofthewoods While watching your first few videos, I could tell you didn’t have a clue. LOL But,, I commend you, for being brave enough to just say “screw it”and go figure it out, all on your own. I anticipate each video, to see what you will learn along the way.
@@johnny30806 I am actually cracking up laughing right now 😂😂😂 the messed up part is I had no idea it was so obvious until I opened up the comments. Thank you so much for sticking through it with me ☺️
@@Apeaceofthewoods The pleasure is all mine. You have excellent content, compared to other “Female outdoor channels” if you know what I mean.😉 You have gained a loyal subscriber all the way from Texas. 👍
Your camping trips brings back fond memories when I was in USMC being in the field. Wasn't always roses but it fun. The outdoors is still a valuable resource and your making the most of it. Awesome video as always and watch out for those pine cones. lol
It isn’t always roses for sure…I usually wonder why I out myself through it at some point just to get home and turn around and do it again 😂 haha the pine cones are on my radar now
@@Apeaceofthewoods my job relocated to Seattle 8 years ago and i must say there are trails and fishing spots till you drop and get super loss. I agree with you the canoe is the way to go. Foot power is overrated😂
When hiking in tick territory, put your hair all the way up and spray with (at least) Backwoods Off. They will literally drop out of the trees in bad tick situations, or when you go through tall brush they will catch a ride on long hair.
Oh I had read that ticks crawl upwards from the ground vs falling from above. This is all based on just googling though because I’ve never actually seen a tick. I’ll do whatever to make sure I don’t get one so thank you for the advice!
@@Apeaceofthewoods Usually that's the case, tall grass, etc., but in bad tick seasons they will also be up in the higher brush and small trees so they can sometimes catch a ride on you. Always check your hair, scalp, etc. They're obviously hard to spot. This happened to us up in N. Wisc. I always wear a hat covered in DEET or Permethrin if hiking in thicker woods.
I love this so much thank you for sharing, I’ve been wanting to solo camp for awhile now and I haven’t had the guts to do it but seeing you and how brave you are is inspiring
Aww reading this makes me so happy. It took me quite a while to make the decision to do it but I am so happy I did. Stay safe and well and best of luck on your camping adventures ☺️☺️
I've been enjoying your videos! It's very cool to see someone doing, learning, and persevering through mistakes all while sharing it with the rest of us. I used to camp a lot when I was younger, but haven't been in a long time. I'm camping vicariously through your videos, haha. I also liked getting to know more about you and your solo camping journey in this one!
As a parent I would be ....heck as a viewer I'm nervous, I know how crazy people are, how unpredictable the wilderness is (bear), I pray that you have weapon and that you are really good at using it. I have to say, (I am sure that everyone recognizes it), that there is a good reason that with five or six videos you already have 11,000 subscribers, your beautiful.
Thanks for filming your adventures in the wilderness. I enjoyed your video this morning, so I will have to watch the others soon. Stay alert and safe out there!
@@Apeaceofthewoods have you done the pine river yet? It’s a great river! It’s great to see u over coming your fear from your first attempt at solo camping! I wish I had more time to do what ur doing, keep up the videos your doing a great job👍
Love it! Stay with it. Learn as you go. What works for others might not work for you. This kind of solitude isn't for everyone but absolutely worth it for those who love it.
Hate to keep repeating the same thing but DAMN I am impressed at your courage to go out there alone. I sincerely hope you have some means of protecting yourself. No way I would I could let my wife or daughter for that matter go out there alone. Love your videos but PLEASE be careful remain watchful you are a very beautiful young woman.

Thank you ☺️☺️ that trip sounds amazing. Camping alone..not having structure or schedule. It’s very freeing. 😂 @ “Dilly Dallying” …I think I’ve used that one a time or two as well
Nice video. Almost hiked there a couple years ago with my wife but the tick and trail reports made us reconsider. Making mistakes is part of the learning process, and they often make for great stories down the road, lol. Stay safe and happy trails!😎🥾
@Apeaceofthewoods I used to be in shorts and t-shirt in the woods always. BUT the poison ivy kept getting worse and worse on my arms and legs. I live in MI but camp in AZ a few times per year too, and have just started wearing sun hoodies and hiking pants all the time. Butter chicken looked great🙂
I feel u on the solo stuff. I solo bike toured from Bozeman Montana to Los Angeles years back and it built a different of character in me I never knew I had. Glad to see you Venture out like you have been.
Wow…I bet that trip was completely life changing. I feel the same way about these trips…they aren’t nearly as adventurous as what you did…but getting out and challenging yourself alone brings out different parts of your character that don’t normally have the opportunity to surface
Good video young lady. I'm 65 and still enjoy the wilds of Michigan, just got a new tent. Not backpacking as much now but still dipping a line as much as possible. Would have been great to see some fish, but they will come.
I've just recently come scross your channel and love your content and that most definitely takes alot self determination and trust in your own abilities to solo camp so good on ya,I also wanted to say that you are 1 very beautiful woman keep up the great content much love from the UK 🇬🇧
I literally just found your channel today. Your story is very similar to mine. Originally from the west and I live in Michigan. I've been hiking alone for several years and I finally hiked up a mountain in Kentucky and camped by myself (last month). I was tired of waiting for someone to go with me. It definitely was an experience. I didn't sleep for the first several hours because every single noise had me wondering what was outside my tent. lol But eventually fell asleep and woke up to a beautiful sunrise and now I am wanting to go again asap. I too love hiking and being alone. Thank you so much for sharing your story. Now I will be visiting your channel and binge watching your videos.
Wow you’re also from the West? I hardly meet anyone else who has made the same transition. Hope you’re living Michigan as much as I am…I also really appreciate hearing your story. It’s so nice to hear from someone else who has had a similar experience. At least you got a little sleep on your first night! I still feel like there were more noises and things running through the woods that night than any other since I’ve started 😂. I’m happy you are sticking to it. Thank you so much for watching and I hope to hear more about your adventures as well! ❤️

one tip for ya, when casting your rod, don't have your lure all the way to the tip of your rod, have it hanging 12'''-16'' below the rod tip. It will cast much farther and smoother, give it try. And yes, therma cells do work or at least help, for sure. Enjoyed the video !
That’s a good tip. I had no idea. I thought it was supposed to be all of the way at the tip of my rod. Thank you!! I appreciate it ☺️
@@Apeaceofthewoods Glad to help ya! I think you'll see a big difference, good luck!

I love your videos. They are refreshing, Honest and unpretentious. I love the fact that you don't claim to be this super experienced bush crafter!! Keep them coming.
Get one of those headlamps that have a red light. Doesn't attract the bugs and it's better for stargazing. Walmart has them for $15.
This advice is gold. I had no idea they weren’t attracted to red light. Thank you!
Your a natural, don't doubt your abilities. It's great that you admit your a newbie to this and aren't over confident. Your doing great girl. Don't stop
Aww I really appreciate that. Thank you I don’t plan on it ☺️☺️☺️
Your videos have inspired me to finally stop just watching people on youtube go backpacking and do it myself.
Haha thank you. We will see what happens but I really really appreciate you following along ☺️
Once again THANKS for picking up after the slobs before you!! Also, cool with the background part of the video where you shared your struggles and mistakes thus far in your journey. Way to hang in there!!! So many more adventures will be in your future. STAY SAFE!!

You are 💯 we all have to start! And every single person who has started didn’t have a clue in the beginning…whether they were 8 years old or in their 30s lol. I promise you’ll be so happy when you do. And you’ll be an inspiration to other people who want to do the same ☺️
Good luck out there as well…can’t wait to hear how things go with your first adventure when you’re ready.
Haha thank you so much. I would agree. Ine of the best things I’ve done. I’ll definitely keep at it ☺️☺️☺️
I truly admire when I see people taking to the outdoors and living a rewarding life in their own way, more so being brave enough to do it solo.. keep up the great work! Stay safe.
You’re not doing a thing wrong. As long as you’re happy, and being careful about not getting hurt, lost, or hypothermic, you’re fine.
I’d suggest a few basics-
Always have a way to create a quick shelter (a small tarp is gold), a change of dry clothes, a reliable way to start a fire, and a map / compass to get yourself out if needed (electronics fail). The more experienced you become, the smaller and more focused your gear list will become. Enjoy!
I appreciate that ☺️☺️
Actually these are great tips.

Good job mixing up each of your outdoor adventures - from canoeing, to backpacking, and at various places around the state! I enjoy seeing the areas you're camping in & the equipment you use once you get there...
Thank you!! ☺️☺️ there are still a ton of places I hope to get to. I’m getting excited for fall/winter camping!
I won’t push beyond what feels right
Two things of absolute beauty, northern Michigan and you in it! Keep up the good work on the videos!
Aww that’s so sweet. Thank you ☺️

Thank you for the kind words, and for coming along! ☺️☺️
Like all your other videos, they radiate joy and enthusiasm and it is clear that you enjoy the outdoors and the peace - And that joy is contagious :-)
Take care and keep posting your lovely videos.

❤
Wow you’re also from the West? I hardly meet anyone else who has made the same transition. Hope you’re living Michigan as much as I am…I also really appreciate hearing your story. It’s so nice to hear from someone else who has had a similar experience. At least you got a little sleep on your first night! I still feel like there were more noises and things running through the woods that night than any other since I’ve started 😂. I’m happy you are sticking to it. Thank you so much for watching and I hope to hear more about your adventures as well! ❤️
@@Apeaceofthewoods I picked my UA-cam handle because I wanted to post my adventures. I’ve just been too nervous.
I’ve lived in Michigan for a very long time now. I do love it but am really starting to appreciate it now. I’m originally from SoCal.
To be transparent, I was up on Haystack rock in Red River Gorge where bear and other large animals are not seen. lol
There was a snake that slithered by my tent that night. I told him he had to be gone by the morning hehe!
Do you have an instagram?
@@Adventuresover40 I was wondering about that. I’m here for it when you do! I made a few unlisted videos before I was brave enough to make them public so I definitely get it. Even then I kept comments off for my first few videos bc I was nervous about it. Haha I went to an area without bears or large animals for my first trip too. No shame in that…I was still terrified 😂. I don’t use any other SM but I might create an IG at some point
@@Apeaceofthewoods yeah I have two instagrams. One with the same name where I’ve posted a few of my trips and my personal one where I post mostly stationery stuff cuz I’m a stationery nerd hehe. Thank you 😊 Maybe I will edit a couple videos and post them. Haha!! Just got nervous typing that. Thanks for the support 🤗
hello you are a very attractive , organic looking lady . please be careful out there , iam sure its fun , ben franklin once said , " he (or she ) who travels alone " reflects better " . although this is true , i wonder if your doing this alone because your unhappy about something , or someone . it seems like too nice a place to experience all alone without a loved one . anyway , please be careful princess . happy camping .
Thank you, I appreciate the compliment ☺️☺️ It isn’t because Im sad about someone or something (although you aren’t the first person to say this) more so because I want to truly experience nature on a deep level, beyond what I’m even doing now. People in my circle don’t feel that way and even if I was to convince them to get out to these places with me, there would be so many limitations because of difference in comfort levels with nature. I can push myself when I go alone. And prepare for what’s next. Not saying this will always be the case, I’m sure at some point I’ll be sharing these adventures with another person that enjoys them as much as I do ☺️☺️ I will definitely be careful. I appreciate you. Thank you again ☺️
First time subscriber and I wanted to say you are a true camper. You are not glamping which makes watching your videos enjoyable.
I appreciate you subscribing ☺️ and thank you, I’m happy that you enjoy!
I don't think anyone would mind if you took a quick dip in the lake to cool off.
~tyfs~ 😊
Creepy
This is awesome. Great perspective on "camping alone", it would be cool to see you with a guest as well.
Great video! I really enjoyed it and your honesty in learning new experiences!
Thank you so so much ☺️☺️☺️
Your adventure is amazing. It's definitely something I want to do. Your a great inspiration! Thanks so much and please stay safe!
Aww thank you!! I hope you do. I appreciate it, you stay safe as well ☺️
