Richard Matheson was a staggeringly gifted writer, but he had clearly written himself into a corner with the ending of this film. It's a pity that he couldn't have borrowed (for which read "stolen") the basic concept of a short story called "He Who Shrank", where another shrinking man ultimately breaks through into a succession of new universes that exist on the subatomic level. One petty realistic cavil: why doesn't Scott's beard ever grow? (The same question I always had about Tarzan.)
"To God, there is no zero. I still exist."
That's probably the most perfect closing line to any sci-fi movie I've ever watched.
Why do I keep coming back to this speech ? There's just something about it .....
I'd wager because it expresses hope, and so much of our culture today is dominated by cynical nihilism.
The best of the 50s scifi.movie..love it.

This guy had to get this SMALL!!! to be this DEEP!!!!....👍👍👍
I think eventually he died because the human heart ❤ cannot function at such a small scale , then his dust went into the cosmos
My dust is going to go into the cosmos. The dust of every one of us is going to go there, too.
His soul made the transition into the higher life.
if only EVERYONE could understand this.
I really love this movie. I hope they playing on TV.
Fascinating
At the end of the film he was about three millimeters tall
