    Fun fact: I made this for a speech on VFX, and I lied to my entire class saying that it was a project my dad and I were working on for the past 3 years. Then I asked if anyone noticed anything uncanny (*silence*), then I blew their minds when I told them it wasn't real and was edited in there. Good speech. It was hilarious seeing people's minds melt.

      Remington Graphics wow most people are retards then, you can tell its CGI a million miles away

      Well... A quick checking of the shadows and you know it's CG. (blurryness doesn't match)
      Not to mention the obvious crosses on the ground for tracking.

      +Kiwimage It's just a test/fun thing to do. Nothing professional. So yeah, there are some pretty obvious errors

      Of course it's overall a very nice result. Especially the camera match and hdr reflections. I am sure it can fool most people. But most 3d and CG artists won't think it's real, because we know how it's done, we know what are the trickiest aspects of it, and we know where to look at to find the flaws. :)

      +Kiwimage Very true. It's always hard to hide errors from someone who has an eye for it.

    The car looks 95% real. But the biggest giveaway is the lack of reflection of the car in the shinny black paint of the truck.

    How did you make the HDRI? You should make a tutorial

    Really nice work mate. The only real give away for me was the shadows, but this would fool most people. Especially if they only got to watch it once without analysing.
    This would actually be a really nice piece to use when asking digital artists to spot the CG. I'd be interested to see the list they'd come up with.

      +Jamie Dunbar Yeah, shadows were rough, but I only had enough time to do one render cus I had to get it done for a speech the following day. I do agree though, it would interesting to see what others can spot :)

    just that metal texture is off... the "paint" or rather lack of it.. maybe just give it some paint look?

    Woah! Very impressive. Even the HDRI you used fits pretty well!

    • @RemingtonCreative
      @RemingtonCreative  7 років тому +3

      Well, I'd hope so. I used an HDRI from that exact spot on the ground :) Thanks!

    Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.

    I just noticed the reflection, :o but the trunk of the car looks really sharp (where it meets the front). Otherwise this is insane, looking forward to tutorials :D
