Camino Baztan (Day 2) | Tough climbs and bleak weather on Camino De Santiago

- Day 2 on the Camino Baztan.
Straight out of Urdax we're greeted with a steep 500 meter climb. The weather feels like it's against us today, as we push on in search for breakfast and our final destination - Elizondo
Distance - Urdax to Elizondo: 18.4kms.
Walked in early April

I’ll be doing the Baztan in reverse in a few weeks and found your channel. Very handy timing. Hope the weather improves. 😂I’ll subscribe of course.
Nicely done mate 😊
I hope for your sake it does! ha ha. To be fair, even though it was a tough day we still enjoyed it, it was one of those Camino days that tests you. By day 3 the sun came out and the scenery was stunning. It's a little gem of a Camino route. I'll be keen to see your journey, so I'll give you a follow back, mate.
Thanks mate. I’m worried about directions now doing it backwards, it doesn’t look that straightforward doing it the normal way 😂
Looking through your channel, a video is over 50K views. Wow. You are storming it. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍
@@NickLivingLife The Spanish side is very well way marked, although strangely the arrows got a bit muddled just before Pamplona, when you connect with the Frances.
I'd recommend taking a look at Gerald Kelly's Walking Guide to the Camino Del Baztan, helped us in the french section. If you need any help, just shout!
Cheers, that video took off and started racking up the views and subs, more so than any others I've done. You've produced so many videos. I actually watched one before I went and was impressed with the camera you were using while you walked by a river or canal, the image looked great. Do you use a gimble or a selfie stick? Keep in touch, buddy.
@@Caminohacks Great advice. I’ll get that guide. Thanks mate.
I’ve done lots of videos but it’s been sluggish getting the subs. I enjoy doing it though and as long as it helps or entertains someone somewhere, it’s all worth it. 😊
I just use my phone on a selfie stick, and I have a DJI pocket which might be the smoother footage. It’s very good for POV while walking. I’ve got a 360 camera to play with this time too.
When are you back on Camino next mate?
@@NickLivingLife Happy to help out wherever I can, and thanks for the heads up on the camera. I just checked it out, a very fancy bit of kit!
Sorry to hear it's been a bit sluggish on the old subs, I just watched 'Uncover 9 Secrets to Make Your Camino de Santiago Perfect!' and thought it was a great, engaging video, with a lot of variety. Drop me a DM on instagram and I'll try and help you - d747
I go and do the Ingles and Finisterre/Muxia in mid June. When do you do depart, and how come you're doing the Baztan backwards?!
😂
Pretty area but very rugged. Pace pace pace turtle wins the race.
Yes, it’s such a picturesque region. Wait until you see Day 3, the scenery was stunning. Definitely, slow and steady wins the race
Hi from Australia. Thank you for an honest review. Good to see the reality. New subscriber. Oh wait, I think I'm already subscribed lol. Best wishes and stay safe.
Hello from the UK and thanks for the ‘double subscribe’. Some days can be challenging on Camino, but that’s what helps to make it so rewarding. Thanks for watching and a Buen Camino to you
