Pretty fucking stupid to just drop the airframe with all the progress made to this point. If the army was smart they would keep these going and have them shift to support the anphib ops.
@@TH-vl8dw they’re too expensive to run, have very poor availability percentage and are ineffective as an air assault helicopter, better to get rid of them now and save the money that would be further wasted on them
@@TH-vl8dw you cant even get soldiers with all their gear on, out the back, which was a selling point for them, way too dangerous for the ground element and the aircraft/crew
@@TH-vl8dw They're too expensive, they're plagued with problems that ground them, meaning we lose a key helicopter capability. The French are terrible partners to have when it comes to platform materiel; they lie constantly, make excuses about poor performance, and are so slow with updates and repairs, its not worth paying the money for helicopters we can't even fly. Its the same reason we're getting rid of the ARH Tiger, it is a platform that is never available. Good riddance, it was a mistake in the first place to go to the Taipan. We need to learn our lesson about work with the French.... Don't
Lol @ ‘I assume that’s part of the bomb disposal’

And now the Blackhawk is being brought back to replace the Taipan.
