  • Essa é uma aula do professor Burne Hoggarth.
50% de tudo o que seu sei sobre desenho de construção, são dos livros desse mestre!
Eu aconselho TODA a obra desse professor. Procurem Em livrarias e Sebo. Vale a pena.

I had Burne Hogarth for a teacher at Art Center in the mid 90's...I think I was in his last class before he passed in France. Great teacher, great info. Thanks for posting this...never thought I could see him do this again. He does the same lesson for the whole body too.

this is a great video. I felt so insecure as I was drawing this and I thought I messed up so bad with the lessons but then the camera went to the students and, turns out they were drawing it as bad as I was! gave me a huge confidence boost.

Andrew Loomis was Hogarth’s mentor and teacher. I love both these guys, but Hogarth’s methods are born out of the Loomis method....

I don't know how I learned to draw a head as well as I do, but I wish I had learned what and how he teaches from the very start! No matter what you think ...you know, this is the best head tutorial I've ever witnessed! If you wish to learn; I would lock on to this method; this is tops!

During the summer of 1987, Burne Hogarth was my instructor at the ArtCenter College of Design. Reflecting back, I felt privileged by being his pupil of this legendary artist, who once illustrated the Tarzan Sunday comic strips! ~Arnold Doong

I kept 3 of his books on the shelf for years because I didn't 'like'his blockish, contorted style. Wasn't until I had to draw figures without the use of photos or models consistently, that I understood what he was teaching and communicating. Burne Hogarth knew his stuff, and was able to articulate it. I began to see how profound he was,and how much thought he's put into his lessons.Wanna explore his mind? The ComicsJournal featured him in two massive interviews years back. Wotta guy! Some do not respond to his teaching approach because it's more left-brain than right- brain. Analytical, not intuitive.Try to pay attention, and try to catch up. THANK YOU for sharing this video. It's a gem.

I have four and one half of his originals. Three of them he signed to me. One was done directly on top of one of my drawings in his class. We were drawing a very large woman. He came by, looked at my drawing, said "She has HIPS!" He drew a perfect Venus of Willendorf in blue chalk, over my pencil drawing. The one half was some drawing he did on top of another drawing. He did not obliterate it, he just showed me how to refine my drawing.

While the video seems antiquated it's still a sound approach. He is really looking to build the structure and mass of the head. Too often begining artists concentrate only on features and their drawings end up looking very flat. Hogarth starts by building a "cranial mass."

CrateofStolenDirt The paper is rough newsprint. The roughness of the surface is what breaks up the chalk . Still, it's too bad that they are on newsprint of any kind. The paper eats itself up. acid.

I suggest you study the functional structure of it in greys anatomy since you apparently have internet access, let me find us a link...
OK, the actual document you want is:
    Anatomy of the Human Body
    Henry Gray
    - January 1, 1918
    Lea & Febiger
    - Publisher
Note pages on and around 384(the digitization has a numerical offset, check actual page for page #) are relevant.
You can make a library on Google play, I would suggest you look up "the literary works of l. Da Vinci as well.
    All very good reads.
