Jeez. Great playing and tone! I have a great Yamaha P bass copy from around 1977 or 78, and it's a truly great bass. You found yourself something special.
Got one. Competes with my 70s Fenders, this bass is damn serious! ✌️
I'd never seen a Yamaha bass like this before. Despite the risqué looks, it sounds fantastic! No doubt this is in part to your excellent playing as well, Marcin. Good job.
Thanks a lot man :) yea that's right maybe looks a little bit weird but sounds like fender j bass and is so much cheaper.
@@marcinbazan6952 I have a SB 500 imported from Japan and I challenge anyone to say it doesn't sound better if not just as good as a US Jazz bass!
@@BARJunkie101 Yeah man! Japan made...good made 💪
More vids! you sound amazing. Is the bass fully stock?
Thanks bro! and yes, this is fully stock Yamaha
tbh Yamaha has a record of having some damn good hardware and electronics in their guitars irrespective of the price point, so there's minimal need, especially with their higher end guitars and basses to go through the effort of putting new pickups or preamps in them. I have a bone stock BB425X which is a lower end BB 5-string (literally sub $300 new) and I'm happy with its tone. If I wanted to modify it... the only mod that would make sense to me is a set of pickups from a BB1025 or a BB2025... And not because they're a fairly custom design, but because they're super hot while maintaining a lot of the mids and treble that most other pickups just can't seem to match all that easily.
is it flat wound strings?
I used Warwick Red Lebel Nickel roundwound 45 65 85 105
