Enjoyed that bruce, your face on that first run was a look of shock, surprise, excitement, worry,😂 I was worried for you in case it came off!!! Cracking session and a high double to boot, well done. I had a 14 on my second trip out just not put a video together yet ....
Thank you Ian, you were worried ?? I was bricking it mate, I find it difficult to remember to keep talking to the camera under those circumstances as you may have seen on my PB video 🤣🤣 Sounds like you're off to a flyer to, tight lines mate, go careful 🤞🤞🐊🐊👍
I think that's the start of the season everyone dreams of. A good upper double and a few more to make the day very interesting. I consider October as silly season. It's hard to predict when they will switch on but when they do it can be madness in the right place. I find I'll go from blanking to getting easily over 5 pike in the morning. Sometimes it's the first week in October but usually the 3rd week of October.
I agree Robert, October can be slow to get started on the waters that I fish but right time right place will always help when its on your side. Hope your season goes well, tight lines mate. 🤞🤞🐊🐊👍
I have to say that I really LOVE the fact that you show everytime the video shots of swingers / arm drop off in action - for example like at 7:46!!! You are one of the very very very few fishing channel here on UA-cam which does that! I truly appreciate this way of filming, thank you for that! Will for sure come back to your channel! ;) BTW: another important question: Do you use pop up on your baits or what do you think about pop ups? Will the chance to get fish be lower if you use pop ups?
Thank you so much for your very generous comments. Much appreciated. I do use pop-ups on occasions, weedy waters or if there are Crayfish present. I use foam ball type used in conjunction with a headless bait with the pop-up inserted into the body cavity with a wire pulled thro the fish with a long baiting needle. Personally I don't think the use of a pop-up has any effect on catch rate, if the Pike's hungry it'll have it. Tight lines mate 👍👍
Thank you Tom that is very generous, yes you've definitely had a lot more rain than us up north😒 for a change. Tight lines when you can get back out 🤞🤞👍
First time viewing, outstanding content appreciate your time putting this together, been fishing 55 years lov it, carp in summer, October to March pike perch zander so enjoyable to mix season up. Had my 1st session the other day on canal lov pike perch zander from canals, but must hit rivers this winter weather permitting no rain hopefully. Anyway congratulations on epic 1st session lovely to see such success amazing pike yeah had out stunning colours, normally I put loose deadbaits in margins chopped up, but million per cent i will use bait cage that's outstanding bit kit, i will million per cent watch your campaign unfold and ya off to flyer. Warm regards Rob safehands Harryboy Milton Keynes Buckinghamshire be lucky ohhh ya just ave, keep safe stay well x
Welcome aboard Robert and thank you for your kind remarks, glad you enjoyed it. Being Slough born I started my fishing career on the canals that maybe you fish, that was a lifetime ago. Tight lines 🤞🤞🐊👍
Time to invest in a glove Bruce, you could have paid for one with the cost of all those plasters! What a start, lets hope your season lives up to the promise this session gives. The chum cage might be helping, but like so many other aspects of fishing, it may just be that it adds to confidence. Hopefully we see you come up to Scotland this year. Tight lines.
🤣🤣 I have a glove but I find it cumbersome to use and worry it increases the risk of damage to the fish. We are due back in the Highlands mid-November and hopefully a few Piking sessions in my favourite place 🤞🤞🐊🐊👍
Great Video! That 2nd fish certainly didn’t wanna give up, you’re gonna need a bigger net!! When we gonna see your first Piking sesh at Derwent Reservoir then Bruce? You know you want to😂
@@amomentintimechannel1315 me too. Video depends on if we blank or not😂Must admit, I hate the place, just too big and featureless. Would’nt bother if it wasn’t for the fact there’s some nice fish coming out.
Just come across your channel. Great video! I’m currently in France house and dog sitting, but when I get back to the UK in November, Old Esox will be my quarry! Having watched this, and diaries 94 and 98 on your recommendation, I’ve made a swim feeder whilst I’ve been here out of galvanised mesh. Could I ask where you get your fish mince from, as I couldn’t see the link? (using my phone whilst I’m here). Also, I’m based in East Yorkshire and my local river is the River Hull which holds good Pike and there some good gravel pits and canals too. I’m interested in the Yorkshire River you are fishing which you described as the “big river”. Which river would that be if you don’t mind me asking? Many thanks. John.
Hi John, thanks for reaching out, Glad that my vids have been helpful. The minced fish blocks are from Durham Animal Feeds who have stockists all over the place, just Google them. As for where I was fishing, I have a rule that I don't name the places that I fish as it would be unfair on those anglers that also fish there, sorry mate. Tight lines when you get back from France 🤞🤞🐊🐊👍👍
Thanks for reaching out. The rods are Masterline xtc's, had them for years, sadly no longer available. The reels are as old as the rods but dependable Shimano Baitrunners with 65lb Power Pro braid. Hope that helps 👍
First time to your channel. Thanks so much for sharing. I loved the fish and your laid back presentation. Well done. 👍👍👍
Welcome aboard, glad that you enjoyed it, thank you for reaching out 👍
Lovely start to the pike season 🎣👏

For a lazy day there was plenty of action. Good start to your Pike season Bruce.
As I said, lucky, Tight lines mate 👍
@@amomentintimechannel1315 There's something to be said for being a lucky angler than a good angler, unfortunately I struggle on both counts 😂

Well done Bruce , I will have to get my act together and get out there, but down here in the south east we are a bit short of good pike waters.

Yes Bruce you're on a roll mate! I think you should gove yourself a bit more credit though there was some skill involved in catching that big one
