I saw Jeff in 1994 in Austin, Tx at a record store. Him and his mates were doing stuff that my friend and I were amazed by.....afterward I bought Grace he signed it I cherished it, then a freak girlfriend knew how much it meant to me. Stole it then burned it! Wanna talk about loss!
Never heard this before! Way better than most of the second disc of Sketches :) how could they leave this off? My Sweetheart The Drunk probably would have been the greatest album ever made if Jeff and the band had been able to redo it properly to his satisfaction. The first disc is great anyway and he totally scrapped it which was an amazingly bold move. I mean it was done. Anyone else would kill to have songs as good as Everybody Here Wants You, New Year's Prayer, The Sky Is A Landfill, Morning Theft, etc. Incredible talent and commitment. We love you Jeff.
I like it better than Grace. It’s so raw. So Jeff. The best original songs, all Jeff with no Gary writing. If the demos and covers were all on a separate release, I don’t think anyone would dispute its greatness. New Year’s Prayer, Everybody Here Wants You, Haven’t You Heard, Nightmares by the Sea, even rough cuts like Thousand Fold and Jewel Box strike the heart as a devastating blow of what could have been. But also with the beauty of what already was; the purest look into the mind and heart of Jeff Buckley we ever got.
Could there be anything more beautiful? I love this man. I just heard an acoustic version of Lover You Should've Come Over that I hadn't heard before, and it was like hearing the song the first time all over again, all the floods of emotion and power of the first time I heard it. Why'd you have to make me cry in the middle of the library! haha.
Most of his songs make me cry, specially Calling You, which I recently heard a cover from a girl for the polish The Voice, that was so touching... that just gave me hope about how there are still people with this gift to get the emotions out of our hearts by the music!
I don't know why but as a fellow musician... I see so much potential in this song, Especially with Jeff being the lead vocalist. I hope one day I can hear this song complete with his vocals in heaven with ya....
@@dinkssong when i look at the comment sections on videos of jeff’s songs i always find older comments posted like 8yrs ago and newer comments posted like 7hrs ago; it’s sweet that so many people return to jeff’s songs over the years, even decades after he’s passed
to think that we'll always listen to a fleeting but very memorable moment in his life, he will always be frozen in time and never ageing. he left us a masterpiece and left. i always listen to his songs or see his live shows and wonder, if he lived, he would've achieved a lot. he was in the beginning of his career, just imagine what he could've put out. just a thought haha
Thank you for uploading this. I recently got into Jeff this past year and apparently some years back there was a war over Jeffs music between his mom and the fans. She took down a lot of stuff and I'm just happy I get to listen to this. So again thank you.
There's 7 male legendary underrated musicians who are incredible and are insanely talented and that is Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith, and Mac Christopher from the 1990s And the other 4 are ones that started in the 1960s like Tim Buckley, Nick Drake, Tim Harding, and Jackson C Frank.
No one does (except Sony) it's sitting in their vault. They seem to release new or unheard material every few years so maybe, just maybe one day we'll get to hear it ♥
Thank you for us to share the music of this handsome personn "belle personne". All above, today have a good thought for him, have a good thought for his mother.
es tan simple pero tan única, siquiera puedo explicar que sentimiento me produce, no puedo decir si tristeza o alegría, melancolía pero si que es única y especial como hermosa
the photo is very appropriate. did he entitle this himself? peace offering, also very appropriate.i love the snappy little beat he got going on. thank you for sharing this oliverberg
@patrickinurface Imagine the tapes that Jeff actually suceeded in physically throwing away? He never wanted some of his stuff to be saved...for him it was all about the act of making it...pity us jeff, for wanting you here with us still. This is all we've got.
From the depths of the internet many years ago. Remains to this day one of the most precious discoveries I've stumbled upon. And it's heart-warming to see how Jeff's music has brought some momentary peace to the thousands of people who have stumblon upon this.
@MzMeanE I don't know to be honest. I just have the whole Jeff's discography and this track is under a folder called "Jeff_Buckley-Rare_Tracks-2" and the file's full name is " Peace Offering; Sketches 4-Track Outtake". So yeah, I don't know much. But if you want it then I'll be more than happy to send it to you with an e-mail...

Wow that is horrible..
He signed it 😮😒
What´s her name? I have a gun that really wants to be triggered right now
She has no idea what she did 😮😢 she just wanted to hurt you, so sorry bro.. at least you can have/share the beautiful memory of seeing him in person
horrible if true
The dog, this song, Jeff, the humming, the guitar, the peace, the sadness and the peace.
:) through him we're inspired to create. Its all he wanted. 🎉
Sometimes a wordless song says so much more than many with trivial messages. Thank you angel for this

Beautifully said.
Jeff would've been the greatest artist ever... Listen to this /watch?v=cX6r7gI-FPY and try to imagina the proportion of what his songs would have got
The second disc is an acquired taste. haven't you heard, and we could be so happy are honestly pretty fekkin good.
"They" didn't leave this off. Jeff must have done it, because the album is literally sketches of what Jeff intended to be My Sweetheart The Drunk.

i love the way that over ten years later the things he wrote and threw away are coming up over and over
I think about this song a lot. In the most random places, at the most random times. I love it so much.
sometimes you really question how such beautiful things can be created? surely it takes someone more than just a human

This makes me so sad. It really is better than a lot of what ended up on Sketches. We truly lost a one of a kind talent.

John Frusciante is one of the greatest. Thank you for acknowledging him.
[About how he wants to be remembered] ...as a good friend. You know, I don't really need to be remembered. I hope the music's remembered....jB
He IS remembered as a good friend...and I never even met the guy (- well not yet anyway).
that's how amazing he was. unfortunate not having him around

Jeff, this is as beautiful as you are.

Hmm, I just love this song. It totally sounds like a peace offering, with a bit of melancholy.
After listening to this all drugs are superfluous.

:)
You are not alone! Would love to play this. Have you found a tab yet?
Any one else try to ear this out on guitar? He loses me at 2:10, can't find those chords, maybe it's best left undeciphered...
I think its open g tuning
@@microblast3700 maybe but it’s playable in E standard. He’s obviously blending 2 guitars.

Fourteen people have given the thumbs up to a comment that makes no sense in English.
Is that one guitar
Two, done by him and mixed in together. Great guitarist, not just writer and vocalist.
@TheSwinesDeathhhhhhh haha
what do you mean it doesn't make sense? of course it makes sense...in any language.
I like cheese
You might mean grammatically... you might.
